Time Management Tips to Fit Ultramarathon Training in Your Busy Schedule

Training for an ultramarathon takes a ton of time. And chances are good that you already have a ton of things going on in your life that also demand your attention. Between day jobs, family, kids, and side projects, finding time to get in your training can be tough. But even with a busy schedule, there is a way to make time for training for an ultramarathon. It just comes down to a few simple practices that can help you make the time to train for your next ultra. And in this episode, I cover all of those simple practices. This is the method that I use to manage running 80-100 miles a week on top of having a full time job, being in a romantic relationship, running a podcast, and completing many other side quests in life. Although I totally get how everyone's schedules are likely different than mine (and many of you are more busy than I am), I hope these time management principles applied to running can help you fit in your training, despite having a crazy busy schedule. Georgia Porter on How to Run Better by Being More Present

Our guest today has been taking the trail running world by storm in 2022, as she has been at the top of the podium at nearly every race she’s ran this year! And most recently, she just earned herself a sponsorship with Salomon after winning the McDowell Mountain Frenzy 50 miler earlier this month.  Her key to success? Learning how to embrace what she enjoys most about running, being more present, and a unique approach to goal setting.  Today’s guest is Georgia Porter who is a trail runner based out of Flagstaff, AZ. Recently, she made the switch from the roads onto the trails, and has since podiumed at 8 races in 2022 (most of them being wins!). Georgia is also a coach with Team RunRun and is part of the All In Trail Collective.  In this episode, Georgia chats about how being more present in her training runs and races has led to her enjoying running more, her unique (but super powerful) approach to setting race goals, and how she’s able to stay so consistent in her training while still not sacrificing the joy in running.  Huge thank you to Georgia for making this episode happen!  Check out Zach Bitter’s Training Plans: zachbitter.com/training-plans  Check out Zach Bitter’s Coaching: zachbitter.com/coaching  Check out this blog post from Georgia: https://teamrunrun.com/joy-in-the-journey-with-coach-georgia-porter/  Check out the All In Trail Collective: https://www.instagram.com/allintrail/  Follow Joe on IG: https://www.instagram.com/joecorcione/

In this episode, we speak with Altra Athlete Ryan Montgomery, who is a queer ultrarunner and is a huge advocate for queer inclusivity.
