Running Shoes for Ultramarathons: How to Pick The Best Ones For You with Nathaniel Chan
How do you pick the right running shoes as an ultrarunner? With so many choices out there, it can be tough to know exactly what shoe is the best for you.
That’s why I brought my friend, Nathaniel Chan, onto the podcast as he is a shoe specialist at Sole Sports Tempe, and has such a huge in-depth knowledge of shoes and what kind of shoes are best for runners. Not only is he an expert in shoes, but he is also an ultrarunner himself, completing the Black Canyon 100K, Speedgoat 50K multiple times, and has been running for a majority of his life.
In this episode, Nathaniel shares the most important things to consider when choosing a shoe as an ultra athlete, suggestions for what type of shoes to test out to find out the best ones that work for you, if carbon-plated trail shoes are really worth the hype, and whether or not you should wear trail shoes.
This is a MASTERCLASS on shoe selection and definitely a must-listen episode.
Huge thank you to Nathaniel for making this happen!
