Mental Tools for Ultrarunning and Training with Don Reichelt

For world-record holder, Don Recihelt, he says the only thing elite about him is his mindset. Meaning, his ability to push through difficulty, mental lows, and pain far outweighs any other factor to success. And when it comes to success in ultrarunning, Don has tons of it. He is a 3x world record holder for manual treadmill records, including the furthest distance ran in 12 hours, fastest 100 mile time, and furthest distance run in 24 hours. He has also finished at the podium of Badwater, ran a 13:16 at Tunnel Hill, completed Cocodona 250, and has multiple first place and podium finishes under his belt. He is also an athlete for Speedland and is a content creator as well. In this episode, Don shares the mental tools he deploys in training and in ultras that help him succeed when times are tough, physical shifts he’s made to improve his training, and how he approaches training for different kind of races (for example, he’s going from training for a 250 miler to training for a 50 miler). Coffee + Electrolytes in One Drink? Our Review of "Long Run Coffee"

Welcome to the first episode of our newest type of episode: Product Reviews by Everyday Ultra! We'll be reviewing products on the show to test gear, nutrition, clothing, and overall stuff to see if it would actually be a useful product to use as an ultrarunner. Today, we're reviewing The Long Run coffee blend, by Long Run Coffee, which is a Chicago-based company that makes coffees specifically for runners. Their coffee is infused with electrolytes and is intended to help runners stay both hydrated and caffeinated before or after their runs. It sounds amazing in concept. But is it actually worth the sip? I try out the coffee for myself after a run and see if it actually made me feel hydrated, and shared my thoughts here. Thank you for listening!
