Nutrition Strategies for Ultrarunning Training and Racing: Your Complete Guide

Nutrition and fueling is one of the most important topics when it comes to ultrarunning. But here’s the thing: it’s the area most people struggle in. And since stomach issues is the #1 cause for DNF’s in an ultra, getting your nutrition strategy nailed down is an absolute must when it comes to preparing for your next race! Over the years of my own racing and working with tons of athletes, I created a process to help out with testing nutrition so that you can avoid upset stomachs, fuel excellently in a race, and feel much better so you can not only avoid stomach issues, but also perform better. And in this episode, I’m sharing that exact strategy with you! I share how much food you should be eating, how to test your nutrition strategies, alternate options if you get an upset stomach frequently in your races, and how to apply nutrition in your training.
