3162 The Power of Choices

With all that is happening in our children's lives, it's essential we, as parents, teach them how to make decisions that complement their values and character. The power of choices. It's in these choices that they can bear fruit in their lives. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co By encouraging our children to make the right decisions, we can guide them towards a path of a better, healthier, and happier life. There is quite a significance in making good choices, the consequences of bad choices, and then, being confident in the choices they make. It's all in the journey of doing good. The K.I.S.S. ~ Journey of doing good! 1. Harvest the Fruits of Good Choices It is crucial to empower our children with the understanding that choosing to do the right thing is always beneficial. Good choices yield positive outcomes that can enhance various aspects of their lives. By making decisions aligned with their values, goals, and morals, your children set themselves up for a future filled with opportunities, personal growth, and fulfillment. Emphasize the importance of integrity, kindness, and responsibility, as these virtues are the foundation for making positive choices that lead to a fruitful and purposeful life. 2. Navigate Away from Destructive Paths Children may sometimes be enticed by the allure of what seems like "fun" that arises from making questionable choices. However, it is vital to remind them of the potential consequences and long-term damage such decisions can bring. Guide them to understand that bad choices may initially appear enticing, but ultimately lead to a path of destruction, regret, and missed opportunities. By using real-life examples and engaging them in open conversations, you can help your children develop critical thinking skills that will enable them to discern between right and wrong, ensuring they make choices that align with their values and long-term well-being. 3. Encourage to Stay the Course In a world where peer pressure and societal norms can sway our children's decisions, it is essential to instill in them the importance of perseverance. Introduce them to the empowering words of the apostle Paul in Galatians 6:9 (NIV),"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." --Where he reminds believers not to become weary in doing good. Encourage our children to stay true to their values, dreams, and aspirations, even when faced with challenges or temptations. By teaching them the value of persistence and resilience, you're equipping them to overcome obstacles and create a future where they reap the rewards of their unwavering commitment to making good choices. As parents, we possess a unique opportunity to guide our children towards a fruitful and fulfilling future. By emphasizing the significance of their choices and the impact these choices can have, we empower our children to make decisions that align with their values and aspirations. Bad or wrong choices always seem easier. Encourage them to persevere and rise above the allure of immediate gratification and the ease of less work, while reminding them to stay focused on their long-term goals. Nurture an environment filled with support, understanding, and open communication, ensuring your children have the tools they need to navigate life's complexities with wisdom and integrity. Together, let us sow the seeds of good choices, enabling our children to reap the bountiful harvest of a remarkable life. "Be present. Be incredible. 3161 Win By Fearing to Attempt

"Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt." ~ William Shakespeare In the vast expanse of human existence, fear has often served as an unwelcome companion, lurking in the shadows, casting doubt upon our pursuits and aspirations. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co It is not uncommon for you to hesitate, to question yourself, to let fear dictate your actions, or, rather, your lack thereof. Yet, in those moments of trepidation, it's easy to forget the immense potential that lies dormant within us - the potential to conquer, to achieve, to prevail. Your doubts are nothing but traitors that sabotage your chances of attaining greatness. Shadows of doubt may appear formidable, but they are nothing more than illusions, attempting to deceive us into believing that we are not capable, not worthy, not deserving of success. However, every great achievement in human history has been born from the audacity to confront those doubts head-on, to cast them aside, and embrace the exhilarating uncertainty of taking a leap of faith. Fear is a natural instinct, deeply embedded within our primitive beings. It once protected us from dire consequences, from lurking dangers in the unknown-- the lions, and tigers and bears, OH MY!! But as humanity evolved, so too did the challenges we faced. No longer were we threatened by predatory beasts or mighty floods; our battlefields shifted to the realms of intellect, creativity, and innovation. The K.I.S.S. ~ Win by fearing to attempt! Yet, fear still clings to us, attempting to hold us back from reaching our full potential. It whispers in our ears, "What if you fail?" "What if you're not good enough?" "What if others judge you?" And in these moments, it takes a Herculean effort to push past the weight of doubt and embrace the beauty of our own capabilities. You need a football team or an army to come push past this extreme wall. You must remind yourself that fear is not a foe to be conquered but a companion to be acknowledged. It is in those moments of fear, when our hearts race and our palms sweat, that we must recognize the very essence of our humanity. For it is within the realm of fear that we discover our true potential - the strength to overcome, the resilience to persist, and the courage to grasp the opportunities that lie before us. You have that within you-- YES!! Every day!! Life is a tapestry of experiences, interwoven with both triumphs and failures. But it is in the face of fear that you find the truest measure of your character. Embracing the unknown, taking a step forward despite the uncertainties that lie ahead - that is the very essence of progress. The good we oft might win, the victories we might attain, they are inaccessible if we let fear dictate our actions. So, do not cower in the face of doubt. Do not be paralyzed by the fear of failure. Instead, honor your potential, acknowledge your doubts, and take that leap of faith in pursuit of greatness. In the end, dear friends, it is not the absence of fear that defines you, but your ability to rise above it, to harness its energy, and transform it into the fuel that propels you forward. Our doubts, indeed, are traitors, but they need not rob you of the good that awaits you. So, cast aside the shackles of fear and embark upon the journey of a lifetime. For it is in daring to attempt that you find the truest expression of who you are becoming and the boundless possibilities that await you on the other side. Win by fearing to attempt! "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #Inspiration #CreateYourNow #DailyMotivation 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3160 Are You Exercising Too Much?

Exercise is beneficial for our health; but are you exercising too much? Although it may be hard to imagine, overexercising can have detrimental effects on your body and overall health. As someone who experienced the consequences firsthand, I can assure you that overexercising can have negative effects on your body and overall well-being. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Let's explore the symptoms of over-exercising and how to find the right balance. The K.I.S.S. ~ Find the right balance! 1. Recognize the Symptoms of Over-Exercising Overexercising not only leaves you feeling fatigued and tired, but your body is constantly sore and achy. You may lose the excitement and motivation to continue your workouts. Surprisingly, overdoing it with exercise can even lead to weight gain, sleep deprivation, and an increase in body fat. For some, this can be a frustrating setback because they're not seeing the progress they desire. It's essential to understand that pushing harder and longer may not always be the solution. 2. Find the Right Balance Training and exercise in moderation have a positive impact on your health, hormones, mental well-being, and sleep quality. However, there's a point of diminishing returns if you overexert yourself without allowing your body to rest and recover. Each person's need for rest may vary, so it's crucial to listen to your body. While your friend may need only a few hours of recovery, you might require a full day. Finding the right balance between exercise and rest will prevent adrenal fatigue and insufficiency. These conditions occur when your adrenals no longer produce enough cortisol and adrenaline. 3. Embrace Daily Gentle Exercise Exercise every day – that's the key. But remember that exercise doesn't always have to be intense or rigorous. Incorporating gentle activities into your routine, such as 20 minutes of stretching, a walking meditation, low-impact tabata, tai chi, or cycling workouts, can be equally beneficial. By engaging in these activities daily and giving your body time to rest and heal, you will continue to make progress toward your goals while prioritizing your overall health. Now that you're aware of the dangers of over-exercising and the importance of finding balance, it's time to take the next steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Remember, moderation and self-care are crucial on your journey toward optimal well-being. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #WellnessWednesday #CreateYourNow #HealthAndWellness 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3159 Rise Above the Grudge

Do you hold onto things that cause you hurt and heartache? As life's journey twists and turns, there is no reason to be trapped in the burn. Rise above the grudge. Along the way, we encounter people who betray us, hurt us, and let us down. It's going to happen. But what truly matters is how we choose to respond to these moments of pain. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Are you one who allows them to consume you and hinder your progress? Or do you let go, freeing yourself to pursue your goals and dreams? Holding onto a grudge is like carrying a heavy burden on your shoulders. It weighs you down, draining you of energy and preventing you from moving forward. Instead of focusing on what truly matters – your own growth and happiness – you become obsessed with the thoughts and actions of those who have wronged you. You replay the hurtful moments over and over in your mind, allowing them to become the center of your attention. But what do we gain from holding onto this bitterness? The truth is, nothing positive can come from harboring grudges. It only perpetuates a cycle of negativity, trapping you in a web of resentment. And in the process, you lose sight of your own potential and what you can achieve. The K.I.S.S. ~ Rise above the grudge! Letting go of a grudge doesn't mean you forget what happened or that you condone the behavior. It means that you choose not to let it define you. You recognize that your energy is better spent on things that uplift you and bring you joy. By releasing the grudge, you create space for healing, personal growth, and the pursuit of your dreams. Imagine a life free from the weight of resentment. A life where you are no longer tethered to the past, but instead, fully present in the possibilities of the future. This is the power of forgiveness and the key to unlocking your true potential. So, let go of the grudge that holds you back. Forgive those who have wronged you, not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace and freedom. Embrace the life that awaits you beyond the confines of bitterness and negativity. Poem: Rise Above the Grudge by Kristianne Wargo In the depths of darkness, a grudge may reside, But within our hearts, it need not confide. For we are warriors, strong and brave, Choosing to let go, to forgive and pave. The path to greatness lies beyond the pain, Where dreams are waiting, eager to reign. With every step we take, we rise above, Leaving behind the grudge, embracing love. No longer tethered to the burdens of old, We soar and flourish, our spirit bold. For in forgiveness, freedom is found, And our dreams, once lost, are now unbound. So let go, dear soul, release the grudge, Embrace the journey, let love be the judge. For in the pursuit of dreams, our truth we find, And to heights unreachable, our spirits are aligned. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #Inspiration #CreateYourNow #DailyMotivation 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3158 Don't Lose Sight

In the journey towards success, the path is often paved with drills and skills that are essential for reaching your goals. If you want to satisfy your hunger for growth, don't lose sight. However, it's all too easy to lose sight of these crucial steps along the way. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Without maintaining a steadfast focus, our ambitions can slip away, and our progress can stagnate. You have probably watched a football game or two in your lifeline. As I was watching BYU and the Arkansas Razorbacks, what seemed like impossible throws to catch ended up being some incredible finger-tipped, one-handed catch. I don't even think the player could believe what happened. But the one thing that made all the difference was that the players kept their eyes on the ball. In this article, we will explore three key strategies to help individuals keep their eyes on the ball, staying committed to executing the necessary drills and skills in order to reach their goals. The K.I.S.S. ~ Keep your eyes on the ball! You need to know the game plan, so you can then execute it to the best of your ability with your skills and drills. Strategy 1: Cultivate a Clear Vision The first step in keeping our eyes on the ball is to cultivate a clear vision of what you're aiming to achieve. By creating a vivid mental image of your goals, you provide yourself with a compass that keeps you on track amidst distractions and setbacks. As Proverbs 29:18 states, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." By having a strong vision, you empower yourself with purpose and direction, enabling you to persevere in the face of adversity. Strategy 2: Embrace Consistent Practice Consistent practice is the cornerstone of executing the drills and skills necessary for goal attainment. It is here that commitment is crucial, as it requires discipline and dedication to stick to a regular routine. As the great basketball player, Michael Jordan, once said, "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." Michael Jordan reminds us that without consistent practice, success remains elusive. By embracing a commitment to regular practice, you lay the foundation for mastery and continuous improvement. Strategy 3: Develop Resilience and Perseverance Along the path to achieving your goals, setbacks and obstacles are inevitable. It is during these challenging moments that resilience and perseverance become crucial in keeping your eyes on the ball. By maintaining a resilient mindset, you bounce back from failures and setbacks, learning from them rather than allowing them to discourage you. Perseverance, as Philippians 3:14 reminds us, "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus," fuels our determination to stay on course despite difficulties. Together, resilience and perseverance support you in weathering the storm and staying committed to executing the necessary drills and skills toward your goals. In the pursuit of your goals, it is essential that you don't lose sight of the drills and skills required for success. And when you practice what we discussed above, you solidify your commitment to staying focused and executing the necessary steps. As Olympic champion Muhammad Ali once said, "I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'" Adopt this champion mindset and don't lose sight. Keep your eyes on the ball, knowing that with unwavering focus and dedication, you can and will achieve your goals and become the champions of your own life. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #MindsetMonday #CreateYourNow #PersonalDevelopment 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3157 Reap A Harvest

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~ Galatians 6:9 (NIV) In a culture that thrives on instant gratification and quick results, it can be disheartening when your efforts, especially in your journey of faith, don't yield immediate fruit. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co You desire instant transformation, instant answers to prayer, and instant confirmation that you are on the right path. But it is during these moments that Galatians 6:9 resonates deeply within your soul, reminding you to persist and trust in God. The journey of faith is a marathon, not a sprint. These words remind you that your walk with God is not a short, fleeting race but rather an enduring journey that requires persistence, patience, and unwavering trust. It's easy to grow weary, to question your efforts, and to doubt whether your labor of love is being noticed. However, in those moments, God gently whispers to your soul, "Hang on, child. Your labor is not in vain." This verse from Galatians challenges you to redefine your understanding of reward. Our world teaches us that success is measured by quick returns and immediate gratification. But God invites you to find your ultimate fulfillment in His everlasting arms. He urges you to choose His timing over your impatience, assuring you that your harvest will come—and when it does, it will surpass your wildest dreams. The K.I.S.S. ~ Reap a harvest! So, what areas of your life require more patience and perseverance? Are you facing challenges in relationships, your career, or personal growth? Whatever the circumstances may be, remember that God's timing is perfect, even when it tests your patience. Take heart, dear friend, for your harvest is on its way. In those moments of waiting, let us press on and sow seeds of love, kindness, and faith. Cultivate the soil of your heart with prayer, seek wisdom through His Word, and serve others selflessly. Remember that faith without action is merely a wish, but faith coupled with patience and perseverance brings forth a bountiful harvest. In the face of challenges, seek God's strength. Pray earnestly for His guidance. Lean on His promise that He will never leave nor forsake you. It is through your reliance on His strength that you find the endurance to keep running the race, even when the path seems long and rugged. So, my friend, do not lose heart. Have faith in the process and the journey. Trust that God is working behind the scenes, aligning everything perfectly for His purpose. Your labor of love is not in vain. Your harvest will come, and it will be more abundant, fulfilling, and beautiful than you can ever imagine. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." ~ Galatians 6:9 May this verse from Galatians be a gentle reminder to persevere, to find joy in the present, and to place your hope in the One who holds your future. 3156 When Compassion Leads the Way

"Love knows no bounds when compassion leads the way. In the dance of compromise, married couples gracefully step towards a harmonious union, weaving understanding and empathy into the fabric of their relationship." Marriage is a beautiful journey that requires nurturing, understanding, and compassion. As couples embark on this lifelong adventure together, learning to compromise is often emphasized. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But as you know, compromise feels like you are selling yourself short. How fair is that to sell yourself short and always make it about the other spouse? Now that is what we should do. Yet the ego in us forces the feeling that if you can't get what you want, is it worth doing what your spouse wants? However, when you went from "me to we", you made a commitment to love well, serve well, and lead well in your marriage. So, instead of feeling like you are selling yourself short when you are doing something for your spouse, look at compromise more through the lens of compassion; serving with a tender-heartedness. It's not about being right or trying to make things work only the way that serves you most. You are now a couple, and that means you have to think in a different way. Why not bolster the bonds of love and deepen the connection? Offer compassion to love well. The K.I.S.S. ~ Offer compassion to love well! 1. Ask how you can serve him/her today It's hard to know what your spouse needs unless you ask. So ask every day. This will lead to better communication, and you will know upfront what matters to them most based on your conversation. 2. Serve well with win-win solutions Rather than looking at a situation as one-sided, strive for win-win solutions that take into account both your interests and your spouse's. Explore creative alternatives that can fulfill both your desires to a certain extent. By brainstorming and collaboratively problem-solving, you can discover solutions that blend your individual perspectives, demonstrating compassion for one another's desires and aspirations. As American author and speaker Zig Ziglar pointed out, "You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want." 3. Embrace flexibility and adaptability Compromise in marriage does not mean abandoning your own desires completely, but rather maintaining a willingness to be flexible and adaptable. Recognize that change is inevitable and that your priorities may shift over time. Embrace the ebb and flow of life together with your life partner, adjusting your expectations and goals as needed to support each other's growth. As author and motivational speaker Brian Tracy emphasized, "Flexibility is the key to the door of success; without it, compromise becomes a lock, hindering progress and growth." By focusing on these three strategies—you can shift your mindset towards compassion and away from feeling like you're compromising at the expense of your own interests. Remember, in a loving marriage, the aim is for both partners to thrive and find harmony, ultimately creating a balanced and compassionate relationship. "Be present. Be incredible. 3155 Rise Above Disappointment

As parents, it can be challenging to witness our children experience disappointment. However, rather than shielding them from these inevitable setbacks, you can teach them to rise above disappointment. And why not take a different approach - one that views disappointment as an opportunity for personal growth? Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co By reframing our perspective and empowering our children to embrace failure as a stepping stone toward success, it allows you to foster resilience and prepare them for the ever-changing complexities of life. Remember, change is a constant. And with failure or success, there is change. And I get it. It's natural for children to set high expectations for themselves, whether it's excelling in academics, sports, or other personal pursuits. However, disappointment and setbacks are an inevitable part of life. It's essential to guide our children through these challenging moments and help them develop resilience. So, instead of allowing disappointment to diminish their enthusiasm, empower them to learn from failures and bounce back stronger. How do you teach your kids to rise above disappointment? The K.I.S.S. ~ Rise above disappointment! You have tools and strategies to support your children to nurture resilience in the face of shattered expectations. 1. Provide a Safe Space for Expression When children face disappointment, they may experience a mix of emotions, including frustration, sadness, or even anger. Creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can freely express their feelings is crucial. Encourage open conversations by actively listening without interruption or judgment. Validate their emotions and reassure them that setbacks are a natural part of growth. By allowing them to vent, you help them process their disappointment and gain perspective. 2. Foster Growth Through Reflection Disappointments can serve as powerful learning opportunities. Encourage your child to reflect on their experience and identify what went wrong while emphasizing that mistakes do not define them. Help them adopt a growth mindset by framing setbacks as stepping stones towards improvement. Ask questions that promote self-analysis and critical thinking, such as: What lessons did you learn from this experience? How can you approach things differently next time? By guiding them towards self-reflection, you nurture their ability to persevere and adapt in the face of challenges. 3. Encourage Persistence and Renewal After experiencing disappointment, it's natural for children to feel discouraged and doubt their abilities. However, as parents, we can motivate them to persist and set new goals. Instill the belief that setbacks are not permanent roadblocks, but temporary detours on the path to success. Encourage your child to identify their strengths and create new objectives that align with their passions. Help them break down these goals into manageable steps, fostering a sense of determination and purpose. By celebrating small wins along the way, you reinforce their confidence and resilience. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill When disappointment strikes, our role as parents is not to shield our children from these experiences, but to guide them in transforming setbacks into opportunities for growth. By cultivating a culture of learning, fostering mindful self-compassion, and encouraging creative problem-solving, you empower your children to embrace failure as a catalyst for personal development. Remember, embracing disappointment is not a sign of weakness but a testament to their courage and resilience. Inspire and support your children to rise above, ignite their determination, and embark on a detour that may or may not lead them back to what they were working toward; a journey of self-discovery. As parents, our role is to guide our children through the ups and downs of life, including the disappointments they face along the way. You can empower your children to navigate disappointment well. Setbacks are temporary roadblocks that ultimately lead to growth and success. Regardless of the hills and valleys in life, your children will rise above disappointment. "Be present. Be incredible. 3154 Fight To Be Yourself

"Cause everybody knows, the hardest war to fight, is the fight to be yourself; when the voices try to turn you into someone else." ~ Switchfoot Lyrics from the song 'Against The Voices' How much of this statement is true for you today? Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co I know I can be haunted by the voices inside my head. I know my goals. I have a clear direction and path to follow. I know where God wants me to go. But here I sit, wrestling with the voices in my head. Are you one who is challenged by what is being said to you between your ears? Are you trying to be someone you are not based on what other voices and people are saying around you? One of the hardest things we need to do is stay grounded and true to who we are and who we are created to be. So why do you let everyone in? Do you open the door to strangers and ask them to make themselves at home without having some knowledge about them? Nowadays, probably not. So why do you open up your mind and allow people to trample all over who you are? The K.I.S.S. ~ Fight to be yourself! Fight to be Yourself: The World Sees You by Kristianne Wargo In a world that's filled with ceaseless chatter, A symphony of voices, opinions that scatter. Hold on tight to the truth within your soul, For it's that voice, God's design, that makes you whole. Shut the doors to the noise, to the doubt and fear, Let the melody of your heart ring crystal clear. Ignore the naysayers who try to dim your light, Stay the course divinely designed, with all your might. This is your day, your moment to embrace, To stand tall, to shine bright, in every space. For God's spark resides within your very being, A masterpiece created, a unique sight worth seeing. So shut out the noise, let silence be your guide, In stillness, you'll find the strength deep inside. For in the quietness, your purpose will bloom, Unveiling a destiny, where dreams find room. Create your now, paint life's canvas with bright and bold hues, Embrace freedom's gifts, discard all limiting views. There's a symphony waiting, only you can play, For it's in being yourself, you light the way. So listen to that voice, the whisper in your soul, God's love, His plan, forever your goal. Embrace who you are, your essence untamed, In being true to yourself, you will never be maimed. This journey is yours, a path worth pursuing, Where authenticity thrives, where dreams are renewing. So be who God created, unapologetically true, For in embracing your uniqueness, the world sees you. CHALLENGE: Are you ready to fight to be yourself? You got this!! "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #Inspiration #CreateYourNow #DailyMotivation 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3153 No Matter What

Life never slows down. It always keeps going faster and faster. So what do you do when your health is out of bounds? No matter what, keep going for your goals. Now it may seem a little strange that I mention no matter what. Because we all have excuses. We live up to our shortcomings more than we do our longcomings. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co We want the easy way out. And so we do just that; we take the shorter road with the least distance needed to travel. And where does that take us? Nowhere! As I have been down the healthy, living journey for decades, now, I know what it means to stick to what you need to do, and not waver. Yet, I've also been on the other side, we're all you do is waver and make excuses for whatever reason. I could sit here and give you the exact diet plan that you need to follow. But in all honesty, there's too much of that on the Internet already. You can go google any diet you want from the cabbage diet to the cucumber diet to the keto diet to the vegan diet to the Paleo diet. And you will find exactly what you need. You could get an app and find your answers there. But one thing you could not find is the real-life struggles and troubles. What it really means to dedicate yourself to living an uncompromised life so you can be your best selfie. And I'm not talking about not thinking of others and taking care of your family. Of course, you have responsibilities and other demands that you need to fulfill within your life. However, that doesn't mean that you sell yourself short. Compromising your health is the worst thing you can do. Now I would say, that compromise in your relationship with God is the absolute worst. But here, when you look at it from an earthly perspective, as to our actions, and what we control, it's most definitely our health. And I don't know about you, but I have lived many days where I have made more excuses and compromised what I knew I needed to benefit someone else. And for what reason? It doesn't do them any good, the ones I love, for me to compromise my health. I mean, who is going to take care of the family if I'm in the hospital for two weeks due to exhaustion, malnutrition, dehydration, and mental instability? Absolutely, positively no one!! Further, I still can see, though that it's much easier to live in those circumstances. And you wonder why? It truly is because it's easier. We can go through life compromising for ourselves instead of not stopping for what we know is right for ourselves. So today that all changes for you and it has for me. Your health needs to be the most important thing you focus on right now. If you have other issues in your life, which we all do, you can still work on those. But if you compromise on your health, I am telling you right now, you will compromise on everything else in your life. How fair is that to you? How fair is that to the ones you love? It's not fair! Therefore, you need to take today like the bull by the horns, and make today the starting point of an unwavering, uncompromising, dedicated, and determined individual that you will reach your goal and maintain it for the rest of your life. The K.I.S.S. ~ Take the bull by the horns! Now that's a pretty big pill to swallow. But it's one I know you can take on the challenge. And so I want to leave you with some things that you can do as you take the bull by the horns. 1. Don't compromise your nutrition. What I mean by this, is that a lot of us will sit here and come up with excuses to fit in. We will find a way to go out to dinner and be like everybody else. My friend, you are not like everybody else. You were made for more. And so if you go out to dinner, and there is not something on the menu that you can eat, within the constraints and confines of your nutritional diet, then you need to not eat. Now I know a lot of people would be saying this is wrong! I hear that hate emails being sent already. But save the typing. Cheating on yourself because you want to eat and be like everybody else right now; it's not the time, nor the place. Until you are ready, and where you want to be in your health journey, you need to stay the course! You do not want to allow yourself to have a cheat day, or a cheat meal. You may make a decision to eat a specific food, but let me challenge you with this question. How long will it take you to rebound from the cheat meal or the cheat day that you have? Everybody is very different when it comes to how our food responds. And when we eat, we eat with our mind as in the way it looks, the way it smells, the way it tastes, the atmosphere, the environment that we gain from this moment when we are eating food. But the body doesn't see it that way. The body sees it as simply a chemical reaction made solely to fuel your body, giving your organs and your mind exactly what it needs nutritionally. Let me give you a real-life example. My son was spending some time with us and his dog. Well in that, he knew I was being very specific about what I was eating. And so he went to grab himself something to eat, but wanted to give me something. So he got me egg drop soup. Which, by the way, I absolutely love. But in eating that soup, you need to understand that I ate it from a point of guilt. He spent his hard-earned money to give me something so I didn't have to necessarily cook and he wanted to take care of his mom, which was very kind and very sweet. And so in that it was all good on both sides right but I gave in to what I knew was not right for me. So yes, I ate the egg drop soup. It was only one cup worth. Now you could imagine the amount of sodium that was in that egg drop soup. But can you believe that it took me three days to recuperate from that one cup of egg drop soup that I ate. I gained a pound and a half on the scale. Now some would say that was not really weight. Others would argue it is. I will tell you this. This is my body and how it responded was inflammation! That was not good in itself. So as I watched how I felt within my body and how my body was responding, I realized how just one cup of egg drop soup changed everything. No matter what my friend, don't compromise on your nutrition. 2. Don't apologize for what you are doing for yourself. Most of our excuses encompass pleasing others so we don't hurt their feelings. But what about your feelings are your body? What about your goals? What about your life? 3. Don't say yes when you really need to say no. I took my grandson and grand dog home to my daughter and son-in-love as they had a busy schedule, and so he came to spend the weekend with me. Of course, Grandma loved it! But I'm coming back, Papa and I decided that we would take them all the way back home instead of meeting halfway. We thought that would be easier. So that is what we did. And in the midst of a conversation when we told them what we were doing, my daughter sweetly said, will you stay for dinner. I would love to cook you dinner. And the thing was, I told my husband in advance, that I did not want to stay for dinner. I did not want to eat extra sauces. I needed to know exactly what was put in the food, and they needed an evening by themselves. And I just wanted to be respectful of what I needed, and I knew what they needed too. And so when my husband called my daughter, she did exactly what I expected her to do. She wanted us to stay for dinner, and so he completely told her exactly what I wanted her to know. And then another call came in from my son-in-love and he wanted us to stay for dinner. Papa proceeded to tell him no and let me tell you, it was so refreshing to know that number one my children wanted to spend time with me. Right?! Of course you want to spend time with your kiddos. Which we did. But we did not have to surround ourselves with the food. I need to eat specifically for me. And I knew that my daughter would fix something that would be delicious, and I would not want to say no to what her hard work put into it, especially her love. But I didn't waver. I knew what I was doing, and because of my egg drop soup happening, I knew I had to stay the course. And a lot of times we don't want to do that. But no matter what you gotta stay the course. CHALLENGE: Where are your hang-ups? Where do you give in too soon or too fast? Do your body well, and your body will serve you for a very long time. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #WellnessWednesday #CreateYourNow #HealthAndWellness 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women?
