3351 Frustration Is Not The Enemy
Change is a constant thread that weaves through every story in the tapestry of life. However, change doesn't always appear beneficial on the surface. Don't get frustratedβfrustration is not the enemy. Life doesn't have to be all crazy and chaotic. Yes, there are times when CRAP is thrown at you, and it's all you can do to stay afloat. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But don't jump ship! Don't let your feelings and emotions get the best of you. As you know, today is Good Friday. Good Friday signifies an end of what was of the world with the hope of sending His Son, Jesus Christ, who walked the earth and then was crucified on the cross for our sins so that we might be saved. I can only imagine what God saw when the world He created was in turmoil. What He created as beauty turned to ashes. Yet, God is God, and He made a way for good to shine through the bad. Good Friday signifies an end to making way for new beginnings. a newfound hope. You see, parenthood mirrors this cycle; you lose what was familiar to you, yet excited for the birth of something new. Kids change you, and they change your reality. Just as God's sending of His Son transformed the world, raising children transforms parents. How can we harness the frustrations that accompany change and the unknown adventure ahead, and put the emphasis on what is good and holy? You gotta focus on what is good and holy. The K.I.S.S. ~ Focus on what is good and holy! That's hard to do. You work hard, have long days, and then are expected to come home and raise your kids with smiles on your faces. As my grandson says to me, "I've had a hard day!" This is echoed with a long sigh. Where do you think he hears that? His dad and mom. It's imperative that we raise our kids with grace, not only for them but for ourselves. And being realistic in what we can do, and know we are doing it to the best of our ability. Focus on what is good and holy. How can you be the mama or dada who holds their child close with their heart in mind? 1. Practice Patience: In moments of frustration, choose patience. Understand that change takes time and that growth often comes from navigating challenges with resilience. Allow yourself grace in the process, recognizing that transformation is gradual. 2. Cultivate Gratitude: Amidst the chaos of parenting, pause to count your blessings. Gratitude shifts your focus from what you lack to what you have, fostering a mindset of abundance. By appreciating the small moments of joy, you magnify the beauty of life's journey. Don't always look at the ashes; see the beauty in the ashes. 3. Seek Support: Parenthood is a shared experience. Reach out to fellow parents, mentors, or faith communities for guidance and comfort. Building a support network equips you with the tools to navigate the complexities of raising children while fostering a sense of community. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." "Life is beautiful. Life is hard. Life is manageable when you see the blessings in the messes." - Kristianne Wargo God gave that to us. As we journey through the ebb and flow of life, let us not view frustration as an obstacle but as an opportunity for growth. By embracing change with patience, gratitude, and support, you become a living legacy that transcends generations. Just as Good Friday heralded a new dawn, let us approach parenthood with a sense of purpose, knowing that our actions today shape the future for our children tomorrow. "Be present. Be incredible. 3349 Strengthen Your Core Without Hitting The Floor
Are you ready to sculpt a stronger core just in time for summer without resorting to those traditional floor exercises? Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co You've heard about the importance of core muscles for a toned physique. But did you know that a strong core can also improve your posture, decrease the risk of back pain, prevent injuries, and enhance your balance and stability? It's time to rethink your approach to core workouts and discover effective exercises that don't require hitting the floor. You might as well R.I.S.E.! The K.I.S.S. ~ R.I.S.E.! Rise to the notation that you need to do the work to gain a strong core that will help you in everything you do. Your body matters. If you celebrate Holy Week, you know that your body is the temple of God. Don't take for granted what your body can do for you. Do something for your body so you can do what you were created to do. So, what are some alternative exercises that can help you achieve a strong core? 1. Resistance Band Workouts: Incorporating resistance bands into your workout routine can effectively target your core muscles while standing. Research from the Journal of Human Kinetics indicates that resistance band exercises not only engage core muscles but also improve muscular strength and endurance without the need for floor exercises (Source: Journal of Human Kinetics, Vol. 56, 2017). 2. Intentional Bodyweight Resistance Training: Performing bodyweight exercises like planks, mountain climbers, or standing leg raises can effectively engage your core muscles without the need to lay on the floor. A study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research reveals that bodyweight exercises can enhance core stability and strength, promoting functional fitness and overall health (Source: J Strength Cond Res. 2021 Sep 1;35(9):2421-2427). 3. Stability Ball Movements: Utilizing a stability ball can provide an unstable surface, forcing your core muscles to work harder to maintain balance and stability. Research from the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy shows that incorporating stability ball exercises can help activate core muscles and improve core stability, making it a great alternative to traditional floor exercises (Source: Int J Sports Phys Ther. 2012 Dec; 7(6): 665β675). 4. Engage and Reach: This exercise involves standing upright and engaging your core muscles while reaching your arms overhead or to the side. By maintaining proper posture and engaging your core, you can effectively work on strengthening your abdominal muscles without the need to lay down on the floor. Kristianne Wargo says, "Building a strong core doesn't have to be a pain on the floor. Embrace innovative exercises that can help you achieve a toned midsection without ever needing a mat." By incorporating these alternative methods to strengthen your core, you can achieve a toned midsection and reap the benefits of improved posture, reduced back pain, enhanced stability, and injury prevention. 3348 Dribble through Doubt
Self-doubt often plays the role of the formidable opponent in the vast arena of our minds, whispering words of hesitation and uncertainty. Don't let your progress and greatness be blocked. Dribble through doubt. Because what if, instead of evading it, you choose to confront self-doubt head-on, dribbling through its defenses with unwavering determination and courage? Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co What would that do for you right now? How would you be able to tackle what's right in front of you? When would you be less likely to believe the lies you tell yourself? Renowned author and motivational speaker, Nick Vujicic, once said, "It's a lie to think you're not good enough. It's a lie to think you're not worth anything." Self-doubt is often based on misconceptions and falsehoods you tell yourself. It is a barrier constructed by your own mind, waiting to be dismantled through introspection and action. So get out of your own way. Drop the excuses. Dribble through doubt. You got this! The K.I.S.S. ~ Dribble through doubt! In the words of self-help author, Louise Hay, "Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens." Break free from the self-critism, that self-doubt that is crippling you. Shift your mindset toward compassion, and empower yourself to reach for your dreams. Nothing is impossible. Unless you set up the roadblocks that keep you stumbling. Kristianne Wargo aptly puts it, "Self-doubt is a cage we've built with our own hands. Yet, we hold the key to freedom when we dismantle the cage with thoughts that serve." Dribble through doubt. And even if you find it hanging out with you, challenge its validity. "You only make real in your mind what you believe." ~ Kristianne Wargo As you navigate the intricate dance between your aspirations and insecurities, remember that self-doubt is not a permanent fixture but a transient shadow that can be dispelled by the light of your determination. Dribble through doubt. Block it with resilience and a deeper belief that you can do anything you set your mind to. 3347 How Will Your Thoughts Fail You?
Have you ever noticed how easily negative thoughts can take root in your mind? You go from being on top of your game to wallowing in misery and what-ifs. How will your thoughts fail you? How you shoot those thoughts in your head determines whether or not you will propel yourself to success or slam you into the wall of another failure. Thought Madness Bracket:Click here to get your bracket! Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co With March Madness in full swing, the Sweet 16 has been decided. Did your teams make it? But you know, it didn't come with ease. The players had to overcome many obstacles, especially the ones between their ears. Lots of decisions are made on the court. And the game moves so swiftly that if you linger too long on one thought, you lose the advantage. You get left behind. Research shows that our brains have a negativity bias, meaning we tend to remember and focus more on negative experiences rather than positive ones. I'm sure you've found yourself a time or two swimming with negative thoughts that won't go away. And for a moment, it's not a big deal. It's like swimming in paradise, all too familiar. But then, the water (those thoughts) get heavier and begin to weigh you down. Now, you're no longer in paradise, but struggling in sinking sand. What is that inner dialogue that you have with yourself every day? What keeps coming back up for you-- at home, at work, at play? Because you do realize that your thoughts control your day, especially your reactions. Right? It would be great if you would respond, but at the time, you didn't have it together, and all you felt was the pressure to react. There you go, spiraling downhill. "I'm not good enough," screams in your mind. "You'll never be able to do that," echoes through the valleys in your head. "You'll never amount to anything" is the heartbeat of your sigh. Negative self-talk can spiral into self-doubt, leading to a lack of confidence and poor performance. "Your thoughts can become your worst enemy if you allow them to control your actions," says sports psychologist Dr. Sarah Johnson. But how can you take control of your thoughts and prevent them from sabotaging your success? How do you rise above the mental attack within yourself, within your mind? How will you overcome the thoughts so your thoughts don't overcome you? Establish your "thought clock"! The K.I.S.S. ~ Establish your "thought clock"! This reminds me of the shot clock for basketball. The shot clock is a crucial component of the game that ensures fast-paced and exciting gameplay. So let's take our Thought Madness a little further and impose the Thought Clock, a shot clock for your thoughts to keep your game of life moving in the right direction. 1. Prevent Stalling - Don't run out your time on kicking your negative thoughts to the curb. It's time those negative thoughts are put in their place, allowing for more skillful and intentional thoughts to shine through, the positive ones that are a gamechanger. When you prevent stalling, you can move faster than the negative thoughts. 2. Promote Fairness - Unfortunately, negative thoughts always have the upper hand. This changes when you have the Thought Clock. Imagine if you gave as much time to positive thoughts as you do negative thoughts, how would that influence the outcome? This element of fairness gives you permission to shut down what isn't working for you. Go back and look at your Thought Madness Bracket. Which teams of thoughts are ahead? Hopefully, you are giving yourself a chance to walk your miles of greatness by more positive thoughts winning. Kristianne Wargo beautifully puts it, "Your thoughts are the seeds you plant in the garden of your mind β choose wisely." As basketball coach Phil Jackson once said, "The mind is the most important muscle in the body. It's not about what you can do, but what your mind allows you to do." 3. Increase Action - Take A.I.M.! Action ignites motivation! ~ Kristianne Wargo It's all about offensive skill, taking shots within a reasonable amount of time. You have got to silence the thoughts that weigh you down and reframe the thoughts that are in hiding. If you don't use the skills you have, the talents and gifts you possess, how will that help you in the game of life. Get back on the court and decide that great things are possible. As renowned basketball player Michael Jordan said, "You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them." You must challenge yourself to be a participant in your thoughts. If you want to be ALL IN in the game of your life, you have got to use the Thought Clock, it's like the shot clock. Did you know the shot clock is a fundamental rule in basketball that enhances the competitiveness and excitement of the sport by promoting active gameplay, preventing stalling tactics, and ensuring a fair and dynamic playing field. "Don't let your season end with negative thoughts. Fight for you!" ~ Kristianne Wargo Your thoughts can be powerful allies or formidable opponents. Who do you want to win every day? Take your thoughts captive. Remember, as Kristianne Wargo reminds us, "Your thoughts create your now β choose them wisely." "Be present. Be incredible. 3346 A Blessing in Disguise
As Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem on that fateful day amidst cries of "Hosanna in the highest," He did so with a profound understanding of what lay ahead. Triumphs to tribulations; a blessing in disguise for you and me. Despite the jubilant reception and praises of the crowd, Jesus knew that within the walls of the city, betrayal, suffering, and the ultimate sacrifice awaited Him. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co While filled with adoration, these accolades could not shield Jesus from the imminent trial of his faith and the fulfillment of his ultimate purpose. With unwavering resolve and unwavering faith, Jesus moved forward, embracing his destiny even as it led him to the city where he would be betrayed by one of his own. His entry into Jerusalem symbolized the paradox of triumph and tribulation, as the cries of "Hosanna" mingled with the shadows of the cross that awaited Him. Do you ever feel like you have reached the pinnacle, only to find a deeper plunge into the unknown on the other side? The K.I.S.S. ~ A blessing in disguise! Life has a way of twisting and turning, from trials and tribulations to triumphs. And then, it repeats itself again. However, the key I noticed was that Jesus had faith. He knew His purpose and was more than willing to follow through. Would you be willing to do the same? Are you willing to do the same? In the face of impending betrayal, Jesus' courage and conviction shone brightly, illuminating the path for all who would follow. His journey into Jerusalem serves as a poignant reminder that true strength lies not in avoiding adversity, but in facing it head-on with steadfast faith and unwavering purpose. As we contemplate Jesus's entry into the city where betrayal awaited Him, let us be inspired by his example of enduring faith and sacrificial love. May we carry the spirit of "Hosanna in the highest" in our hearts, acknowledging that even in the darkest moments, the light of redemption and salvation shines brightest. "Be present. Be incredible. 3345 Stop the Madness in Your Marriage
So long as your past is in the past, you can be present in your marriage. However, many couples struggle because the past is still present. You must stop the madness in your marriage if you want to live happily ever after. The lingering remnants of our past can cast a long shadow over the present, shaping our relationships in unexpected ways. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Unaddressed traumas, unresolved conflicts, and buried emotions can morph into a looming Mount Everest. As Kristianne Wargo wisely puts it, "The trash of your past needs to be taken out or it becomes an overwhelming mountain of C.R.A.P. It stinks, it smells, it shackles the heart." In order to break free from the chains of the past and pave the way for a thriving marriage, it is imperative to confront the buried burdens head-on. The K.I.S.S. ~ Confront the buried burdens head-on! If you choose to hide from the past, it will haunt you down and destroy your marriage. Put on your big girl panties! I know you have the courage to face your past. I understand it won't be easy and you might even uncover some things you didn't think was a big deal. But the key is to know and understand to the best of your ability, so you can move forward with confidence that your past is simply that-- your past! Here are three actionable steps that spouses can take to navigate the complexities of their past and cultivate a healthier present for their marriage: 1. Acknowledge and Accept the Past Self-awareness serves as the first step towards healing. Recognize the impact of past traumas, generational patterns, and unresolved conflicts on your present behavior and relationships. You can't heal what you don't acknowledge. Stop using the excuse of not knowing, and learn what has been holding you back in your past. By confronting those shadows with honesty and vulnerability, you make a way to reach the freedom to love deeper. 2. Break the Old Patterns A lot of what we carry with us comes from our past experiences, which are fueled by generational patterns. Our parents and grandparents and everyone in between have an influence on how we lead our lives. However, there comes a point in life where we have to look at what is good for us as an individual and then as a couple. By breaking free from the cycle of generational sins, you create space for personal growth and relational harmony. Author Haruki Murakami, "If you can't understand it without an explanation, you can't understand it with an explanation." In other words, just because it made sense in the past doesn't mean it is right for you in the present. 3. Forgive to Let Go Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself first. When you forgive, you are giving away what is burying your heart deep in the dungeon of despair. And then, it's that forgiveness that sweeps away the dust bunnies in the nooks and crannies that steals away your courage to heal from the hurts. You can heal, but you have to forgive to let go! As Kristianne Wargo aptly states, "At some point, you have to face your past so you can be present today." CHALLENGE: How have you dealt with your past? Or have you? By embarking on this journey of self-discovery, forgiveness, and growth, spouses can unravel the shackles of the past and forge a path toward a more resilient and genuine marriage. In the timeless words of Maya Angelou, "History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." Some things need not be repeated; they must be left in the past and dealt with. Stop the madness in your marriage! "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #RelationshipBuilders #CreateYourNow #LoveAndMarriage π₯ Karen Kingsbury Productions Presents Someone Like You.movie π Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3344 Your Words Carry Weight
Trust and respect are built not only on our actions but also on our verbal interactions with our children. Parents, your words carry weight. Every word you utter shapes your child's perceptions and self-esteem. Mom (and Dad)-- your words hold immense power! Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co In moments of frustration or inattention, we may inadvertently speak words that hurt rather than heal. It's crucial to be mindful of the language we use with our children. So let me ask you-- how do you speak to your child? What words do you find yourself repeating? In what circumstances do you use certain words? "Do not underestimate the impact your words have on your child's emotional well-being," says Child Psychologist, Dr. Sarah Johnson. "Words have the power to build or break a child's self-esteem and confidence." If you want to build your child up, build a foundation of trustworthy words. The K.I.S.S. ~ Build a foundation of trustworthy words! Consider your words seeds that will bloom and blossom when given the right fertilizer, the circumstances in which they are used. In order to foster positive communication with our children, here are three steps parents can take to improve their language: 1. Practice Active Listening: Instead of simply issuing commands or criticisms, take the time to actively listen to your child's thoughts and feelings. Ask open-ended questions to encourage dialogue and show genuine interest in their responses. For example, instead of saying, "Clean your room now!" try asking, "How was your day? What made you feel happy or sad today?" Parenting coach, Emma Roberts emphasizes, "Active listening conveys respect for your child's perspective and fosters a sense of understanding and empathy." 2. Use Positive Affirmations: Incorporate positive affirmations into your daily interactions with your child. Offer words of encouragement and praise for their efforts and achievements. Instead of focusing on shortcomings, highlight their strengths and potential. For instance, say, "I am proud of how hard you worked on that project" or "You are so creative and thoughtful." Parenting author, Mark Smith shares, "Positive affirmations help nurture a child's self-confidence and motivate them to strive for success." 3. Practice Patience and Empathy: In moments of frustration or anger, take a pause before responding to your child. Consider their feelings and perspective before reacting impulsively. Show empathy by acknowledging their emotions and validating their experience. Instead of dismissing their concerns, offer comforting words and reassurance. For example, say, "I understand that you are upset. Let's talk about why you feel that way." Parenting educator, Maria Garcia advocates, "Practicing patience and empathy creates a safe and supportive environment for your child to express themselves openly." Kristianne Wargo aptly says, "Our words shape our children's world. Let's choose them wisely and kindly." Remember, the way we speak to our children can have a lasting impact on their self-esteem and emotional well-being. Let's strive to choose our words thoughtfully and nurture a positive and trusting relationship with our little ones. "Be present. Be incredible. 3343 Roll Up Your Sleeves
Are you tired of constantly pushing tasks to the back burner? Overwhelmed by the mountain of work staring you in the face? It's time to stop procrastinating and roll up your sleeves. Tackle what needs to be done now. Create your now! Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co In the words of best-selling author Karen Lamb, "A year from now you may wish you had started today." This sentiment rings true for many of us. That project you keep delaying, that dream you haven't pursued β they won't accomplish themselves. It's up to you to take the first step. Procrastination often stems from fear of failure or perfectionism. However, as author and researcher BrenΓ© Brown advises, "What we know matters, but who we are matters more." It's not about getting everything right the first time; it's about showing up and putting in the effort. Now is the time to heed the advice of motivational speaker Les Brown, who famously said, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." By taking action and confronting the tasks at hand, you open yourself up to new possibilities and opportunities. The K.I.S.S. ~ Roll up your sleeves! In the words of Kristianne Wargo, "Don't wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect." Perfection is an illusion. Progress, however, is real. It's about making small steps each day towards your goals. So, stop making excuses. Excuses only serve to hold you back and limit your potential. Instead, face your challenges head-on with determination and grit. You have the strength within you to accomplish great things β but only if you take that first crucial step. Remember, as American author Napoleon Hill once said, "The starting point of all achievement is desire." What do you desire? What are you willing to work for? The answers lie within you. It's time to seize the day, to embrace the tasks in front of you with confidence and determination. Don't let procrastination rob you of your potential. Take that first step today and watch as doors begin to open, opportunities arise, and your dreams inch closer to reality. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #Inspiration #CreateYourNow #DailyMotivation π₯ Karen Kingsbury Productions Presents Someone Like You.movie π Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? 3342 Live in Freedom
Too often, we set ourselves up for failure regarding healthy living. We think it's all-or-nothing. We put off what matters today to get a second chance tomorrow. Cast away your second thoughts and live in freedom. In the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, the pressure to go all in or nothing can often lead to feelings of failure and discouragement. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co However, embracing a perspective of living in the moment can empower individuals to make positive choices for their health and well-being each day. The K.I.S.S. ~ Eradicate the all-or-nothing attitude! The key is to live in freedom. Boundaries are one thing, but rigidity is something else. Here are three simple strategies to eradicate the struggles of the all-or-nothing mentality and cultivate a mindset of freedom in your healthy living journey: 1. Embrace Mindful Eating: Instead of rigid diet plans or strict meal restrictions, focus on practicing mindful eating. Allow yourself to fully enjoy and savor each bite of your meals, paying attention to your body's hunger and fullness cues. As health coach Megan Roosevelt wisely said, "Eating mindfully is about listening to your body, nourishing yourself, and enjoying the experience of eating without judgment." 2. Prioritize Movement You Love: Exercise shouldn't feel like a punishment or obligation. Find physical activities that bring you joy and make you feel good. Whether it's dancing, hiking, or practicing yoga, moving your body in ways that you genuinely enjoy can lead to sustainable habits. As fitness expert Gabby Reece said, "Movement is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you ate." 3. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself on your journey to a healthy lifestyle. Remember that progress is not always linear, and setbacks are a natural part of growth. Offer yourself the same compassion and encouragement you would give a friend facing a challenge. As Kristianne Wargo astutely said, "In the pursuit of wellness, remember to be kind to yourself. Progress is progress, no matter how small." By incorporating these strategies into your daily routine, you can break free from the all-or-nothing mentality and embrace a lifestyle of freedom and balance. Remember, each small step you take towards better health is a victory in itself. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #WellnessWednesday #CreateYourNow #HealthAndWellness π₯ Karen Kingsbury Productions Presents Someone Like You.movie π Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women?
