In life, there will be wins and losses. No matter how loud the crowd cheers or how silence feels due to defeat, you can shine regardless of the outcomes. So, how do you handle wins and losses? What gets you to the next stage where you can shine for who you are, who you are becoming, and where you are going? Thought Madness Bracket:Click here to get your bracket! Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co We have been working on "Thought Madness" now for 4 weeks or so. What has got you moving differently? Has it been thinking more about what you're thinking about? Have you found yourself not really caring and still doing the same thing? Maybe you are trying to make changes, but flustered with the success up until now. Life is unfair. Yet life is beautiful. Life is full of joy, but it's also destructible. How can you go from one extreme to the otherβfrom a win to a loss, a victory to a setback, or success to failure? If you want to see the wins and losses as equals, break the cycle! The K.I.S.S. ~ Break the cycle! A basketball player can draw valuable lessons from both wins and losses on the court, just as individuals can learn from success and setbacks in life. Here's how they compare: 1. Win - Celebrate and Learn: - In Basketball: Celebrate victories, acknowledge hard work and teamwork that led to success, and analyze what worked well to replicate in future games. - In Life: Similarly, celebrate personal achievements, recognize efforts that contributed to success, and extract lessons to apply to future endeavors. 2. Lose - Reflect and Improve: - In Basketball: Reflect on the reasons for the loss, identify areas of improvement, learn from mistakes, and use the defeat as motivation to train harder for the next game. - In Life: Reflect on failures, analyze what went wrong, identify opportunities for growth and self-improvement, and use setbacks as a comebackβstepping stones towards future success. 3. Humbling Experiences (Humility): - In Basketball: A loss can humble a player, reminding them of the importance of resilience, perseverance, and continuous self-improvement to bounce back stronger. - In Life: Adversity in life similarly serves as a humbling experience, fostering resilience, empathy, and a growth mindset to navigate through challenges with grit and determination. 4. Character Building: - In Basketball: Wins and losses mold a player's character, shaping attributes like sportsmanship, leadership, and mental toughness that are essential on and off the court. - In Life: Successes and failures contribute to personal growth, fortifying characteristics such as resilience, adaptability, and determination that are vital for navigating life's highs and lows. 5. Perseverance and Resilience: - In Basketball: Facing ups and downs in games instills perseverance and resilience in players, teaching them to push through challenges and setbacks with unwavering determination. - In Life: Overcoming obstacles builds a foundation of resilience, teaching individuals to stay strong, adapt, and persist in the face of adversity to achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether you're playing on the court or dribbling between your items on the to-do list, you can cultivate a mindset of continuous growth, adaptability, and determination in pursuing personal and professional success. 3360 The Heart of Faithful Living
Obedience is a foundational principle in the life of a believer, reflecting our reverence for God and our willingness to align our actions with His will. As we navigate the complexities of daily living, be sure you have the heart of faithful living. It's essential to explore the ways in which we can honor God through our obedience. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Most of the time, we are doing our own thing, fighting our own battles with our to-do lists. And how far has that gotten you? When you look at scripture, it is full of guidance on obedience, emphasizing its importance in our relationship with God. John 14:15 ~ "If you love me, keep my commands." This clear directive from Jesus underscores the connection between our love for God and our obedience to His word, which is to Him! Obeying God involves more than just following a set of rules; it requires a heart fully surrendered to His guidance. 1 Samuel 15:22 ~ "To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams." This passage highlights the significance of our obedience as an expression of our deep-seated faith and devotion to God. The K.I.S.S. ~ The heart of faithful living! Practicing obedience means aligning your will with God's divine plan, even when it contradicts your desires or understanding. Proverbs 3:6 urges us to "in all your ways acknowledge Him," emphasizing the importance of trusting God's wisdom and guidance in every aspect of our lives. Walking in obedience is a continual journey of faith, requiring humility, perseverance, and a willingness to surrender our own desires for the sake of God's greater purpose. 1 John 5:3 ~ "In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome." This reassures us that obedience stems from a heart filled with love and reverence for God, making His commands a joy to follow. In the tapestry of our faith, obedience forms the thread that weaves our lives into a beautiful testimony of God's grace and guidance. As believers, our obedience is not a rigid adherence to rules but a vibrant expression of our love for the One who first loved us. Let our actions, our words, and our choices be a symphony of obedience to the God who calls us His own. So, let us approach obedience with humility, reverence, and gratitude, allowing it to shape our character and draw us closer to the heart of our Heavenly Father. May our lives be a living testimony of obedience, reflecting the transformative power of faith in action. "Be present. Be incredible. 3359 How Do You Handle Jealousy in Your Marriage?
Navigating jealousy in your marriage when your spouse feels neglected and seeks more attention can be a delicate balancing act. How do you handle jealousy in your marriage? While jealousy is a common experience in relationships, couples can conquer this challenge through empathy, effective communication, and a willingness to understand each other's needs. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Leslie Vernick, a renowned marriage counselor, emphasizes the importance of addressing jealousy in a healthy way. She says, "Jealousy in a marriage stems from insecurities and unmet needs. It's crucial to communicate openly and empathetically to build trust and mutual understanding." Have you ever experienced jealousy in your marriage? Sometimes jealousy rears its head in unexpected ways, such as feeling envious of the attention your spouse gives to others or even to your children. If you want to get to the bottom of jealousy, ask curious questions. The K.I.S.S. ~ Ask curious questions! When you want to be curious, then it's going to take courage to say something. There is a link between the words "curious" and "courage." Both words stem from the Latin word "cor," which means heart. "Curious" originally meant eager to know, and it can take courage to delve into the unknown or to seek answers to questions. Similarly, "courage" refers to the ability to face difficulties and challenges with bravery, which often requires a curious and open mindset to explore new possibilities and overcome fears. In essence, curiosity can fuel the courage needed to step into the unknown and grow personally and professionally. To handle jealousy effectively, consider the following strategies: 1. Communicate openly and honestly: You can do this by asking questions that put things in perspective. Expressing your feelings of jealousy to your partner can help them understand your perspective. Talk about your insecurities and fears in a non-confrontational manner to foster a supportive environment for mutual growth and understanding. 2. Establish boundaries and reassurance: Setting clear boundaries in your marriage can help alleviate jealousy triggers. Reassure your spouse of your commitment and love regularly, reinforcing the emotional connection and trust between you both. Come at it with an empathetic ear. This will open the possibility of your spouse hearing what is happening. Be compassionate and kind for your spouse's 3. Self-reflect to check where you are: If jealousy in your marriage becomes overwhelming or leads to constant conflicts, don't hesitate to seek support from a counselor or therapist. Professional guidance can offer valuable insights and tools to navigate through challenging emotions. You can get support with groups, journaling, coach, therapist. This will give you the opportunity to self-reflect and a place to land when you are trying to figure things out. Kristianne Wargo aptly points out, "Jealousy can make one feel like an object, rather than a cherished partner. Addressing it promptly and constructively is essential to nurture a healthy, loving relationship." Remember, a sprinkle of jealousy is normal in relationships, but when left unchecked, it can turn toxic. By fostering open communication, setting boundaries, and seeking assistance when needed, couples can strengthen their bond and conquer jealousy together. "Be present. Be incredible. 3358 Check The Chaos At The Door
In the whirlwind of modern family life, finding balance can feel like an elusive dream. Between work demands, school schedules, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments, you must check the chaos at the door. Because, with a little intentionality and some strategic planning, it is possible to create a harmonious family dynamic where everyone finds their space in the middle of competing demands. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co "Finding balance as a family is like constructing a beautiful mosaic - each unique piece comes together to create a masterpiece of harmony." - Kristianne Wargo What does your family look like today? Are things calm, or is it more of a roller coaster of feelings with everyone walking on eggshells? The K.I.S.S. ~ Check the chaos at the door! Balancing competing demands and finding harmony as a family can be challenging, but here are some strategies to help: 1. Establish Priorities: Identify what matters most to your family and allocate time and attention accordingly. As author Stephen Covey once said, "The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities." 2. Set Boundaries: Establish boundaries for work, school, and personal time to ensure each family member gets the attention they need. 3. Communicate Openly: Regular family meetings can help address concerns, share schedules, and ensure everyone's needs are considered. Family therapist Virginia Satir remarked, "We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth." 4. Quality Time: Make the most of your time together by engaging in meaningful activities and creating lasting memories. Dr. Seuss poignantly captured the essence of quality time with family, "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." 5. Self-Care: Encourage each family member to prioritize self-care activities that rejuvenate and re-energize them. You know how the flight attendant says, "Put on your oxygen mask first before assisting others." Taking care of yourself allows you to better care for your loved ones. 6. Delegate Responsibility: Distribute household chores and responsibilities among family members to lighten the load and promote teamwork. 7. Tech-Free Time: Designate periods without screens to focus on connecting and bonding as a family without distractions. 8. Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to adjust schedules and plans as needed to accommodate unforeseen circumstances or individual needs. American film producer, screenwriter, and actor Michael Arndt noted, "Be so good they can't ignore you." Adaptability in the face of change helps to maintain equilibrium within the family. 9. Support System: Lean on extended family, friends, or support groups for assistance and guidance during busy or challenging times. Renowned educator and author Maria Montessori emphasized the importance of community support, "The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.'" 10. Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge and celebrate each other's accomplishments, no matter how big or small, to foster a positive and supportive family dynamic. In the intricate tapestry of family dynamics, each thread plays a crucial role in weaving together a harmonious and colorful life. Remember, finding your calm center amidst the chaos is not about achieving perfection, it's not about things being all in there place and everyone happy. But more about embracing the journey and the growth that comes with it. When you are part of a family, you will be changed. So check the chaos at the door and invite harmony to take its place in the heart of your family. "Be present. Be incredible. 3357 Embrace Your Uniqueness
In a world inundated with pressure to conform, embrace fitting outside the lines as a gift, not a curse. Embrace your uniqueness, allowing you to showcase the real you, unfiltered and unapologetic. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? As Kristianne Wargo beautifully puts it, "Be who you are and who you are becoming, as the gift of YOU is the greatest present you can give to the world." "Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen." - BrenΓ© Brown Are you hiding? Are you wishing you were someone else? Now it's one thing to wish you were in different circumstances and situations. That can be changed. But don't try and change who you are because of someone you are not. It's not comparison. Yes, you can make changes to be your best selfie, but it's not about being someone else. 3356 Spring Clean Your Diet
As the seasons change, so do our dietary needs. Spring is the perfect time to refresh your eating habits and incorporate seasonal produce that supports overall health and well-being. Chef Jamie Lee shares, "Spring is a time for renewal, and what better way to rejuvenate your body than with the vibrant flavors of seasonal produce." The K.I.S.S. ~ Spring clean your diet! Here are some tips on how to spring clean your diet, eat to the season, save money, and a delicious recipe to enjoy guilt-free. 1. Incorporate Seasonal Produce: Opt for fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season during spring, such as strawberries, asparagus, leafy greens, and peas. These nutrient-dense foods not only provide essential vitamins and minerals but also add variety and freshness to your meals. Nutritionist Sarah Smith emphasizes, "Eating seasonal foods not only supports your overall health but also helps the environment by reducing food miles and supporting local farmers." Eating to the Season: - Choose seasonal fruits and vegetables like strawberries, asparagus, arugula, and peas. - Incorporate fresh herbs like mint, basil, and cilantro for added flavor. - Opt for lighter meals with salads, smoothies, and grilled dishes to align with the brighter days and warmer weather. 2. Meal Prep and Plan Ahead: Spend some time planning your meals for the week, including snacks and lunches. By prepping ingredients and having healthy meals ready to go, you can avoid making impulsive, less nutritious food choices. This will also help reduce food waste and save time during busy weekdays. Saving Money While Eating Healthy: - Shop at local farmer's markets for fresh, affordable produce. - Buy in bulk and freeze or preserve seasonal fruits and veggies for later use. - Plan meals ahead to avoid food waste and unnecessary spending. 3. Hydrate with Infused Water: Stay hydrated by infusing your water with fresh fruits, herbs, and vegetables like sliced cucumbers, mint leaves, or berries. This adds natural flavor without extra sugars or calories, making it a refreshing and healthier alternative to sugary beverages. Proper hydration is essential for overall well-being and supports a healthy metabolism. **Spring Recipe: Lemon Berry Chia Pudding** - Ingredients: 1/4 cup chia seeds 1 cup almond milk 1 tsp lemon zest Mixed berries for topping - Directions: 1. In a bowl, mix chia seeds, almond milk, and lemon zest. Stir well and let it sit in the fridge overnight. 2. Top with fresh mixed berries before serving. "Spring is a time for growth, both in nature and within ourselves. Let your food choices reflect this renewal, nourishing your body with foods that empower your health and well-being." ~ Kristianne Wargo Spring clean your diet this season, embrace the bounties of nature, and savor the flavors of fresh, healthy eating. 3355 Break Away From The Past
As you stand at the crossroads of familiarity and change, remember that the journey towards something different is not just about reaching a destination but about the transformation. Break away from the past. A quarter of our year is gone. Many of us find ourselves longing for something more, something different than the familiar tunes and routines that have defined the first few months. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co We've got that stirring within us. That desire beckoning us to explore uncharted territories and break away from the past. Transitioning from the comfort of what you know to the uncertainty of what could be is a journey fraught with both trepidation and excitement. As author C. JoyBell C. once said, "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." This untold story, this yearning for something different, is a whisper from your soul, the nudge in your gut, urging you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the unknown. It is in these moments of reflection that you find the courage to take a leap of faith, to pursue a path that may be unconventional yet ultimately fulfilling. As Kristianne Wargo wisely puts it, "Embrace the unknown, for it is in the journey towards the unfamiliar that we discover our true selves." Embracing change, even when it appears daunting and overwhelming, opens doors to new possibilities and opportunities you may have never considered before. The K.I.S.S. ~ Break away from the past! To inspire oneself to move in a different direction requires a deep sense of self-awareness and a willingness to let go of preconceived notions of what our lives should look like. And a lot of that comes from our past. If we are going to elevate where we are headed, then it demands that we listen to the whispers of our hearts and trust in our intuition to guide us toward the path we are meant to tread. Who you are becoming. Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!! "This isn't about living in the past. This is being present in the presence of today to create your now." ~ Kristianne Wargo The only constant in life is change. Embracing change is not about erasing the past, but about acknowledging its presence while paving the way for a brighter, more fulfilling future. What would happen if you honored yourself by breaking away from the past, meaning letting it go, and moving into what is happening in the NOW? In the midst of uncertainty, remember these words of wisdom from American poet Robert Frost: "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I β I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." Choosing to forge a new path, to embrace the unfamiliar, may be intimidating, but it is in this boldness that you find freedom and truth. You get to become who you are becoming! As you stand at the crossroads of familiarity and change, remember that the journey toward something different is not just about reaching a destination but about the transformation that occurs along the way. What's old may indeed become new again, but it is in the exploration of the uncharted that we discover the depth of your greatness. 3353 A Living Hope
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." ~ 1 Peter 1:3 Here comes our hope. He is risen. He is risen indeed. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co With Christians around the world, we rejoice together in Jesus Christ's resurrection, which symbolizes the ultimate act of sacrifice and is a beacon of hope for all. Today and every day, we reflect on the profound significance of this event and find comfort in the promise of redemption and renewal. The essence of Easter is a celebration of new beginnings, eternal hope, and boundless grace. The K.I.S.S. ~ Here comes our hope- a living hope! In times of uncertainty and turmoil, it is easy to lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. However, the resurrection of Jesus serves as a poignant reminder that even in our darkest hours, there is always hope. Romans 15:13 reminds us, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Here comes our hope- a living hope! As we meditate on the significance of Easter, let us embrace the profound love and sacrifice that God has bestowed upon us. "In the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we find not only hope but a sacrificial love that surpasses all understanding." ~ Kristianne Wargo Let us walk in the light of this eternal hope and allow it to guide us through life's trials and tribulations. When you do that, your joy will overflow. You will celebrate Easter every day. If you want me to be honest, that is my desire for you- you celebrating Easter every day. That's when you are content with whose you are and the love He has for you. It's not about what the world has to offer or the pattern of the world, it's knowing that you are a beloved child of God. That's where your joy comes from, not dictated by your circumstances or situations. Look at the God's picture...Walk in Jesus Christ's overflow of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. He is risen. He is risen indeed. 3352 The Power of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a profound act that has the capacity to redefine and elevate marriages to new heights of understanding and compassion. The power of forgiveness is truly a transformative act that cultivates harmony. If you use forgiveness in your marriage, it can strengthen bonds and mend wounds. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co The act of forgiving not only heals wounds but also cultivates a deeper connection between a couple, fostering a sense of renewal and grace. It's this energy that keeps engaging the heart to expand wider and deeper. As Kristianne Wargo wisely said, "Forgiveness changes you! You can't forgive and not be changed yourself." When you are considering forgiveness, you must look at the resentment meter. Resentment is a complex emotion that arises from feelings of unfairness, bitterness, or anger towards someone, often stemming from past grievances or perceived injustices. It can slowly erode a marriage and create barriers to communication and emotional intimacy. Letting go of resentment is crucial for healing and restoring harmony in marriage. And that's all in the process of forgiveness. "If you forgive, resentment can't be borrowed." ~ Kristianne Wargo You can't go to your heart and withdraw resentment. It won't exist because you forgave. Now, as you may know, this week is Holy Week. And today, we are in between the stage of the crucifixion and the resurrection. And so I want to take a more direct approach to challenge our thinking on how we can understand the depth of forgiveness and why it's so powerful in marriage. The concept of forgiveness in the context of Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross for our sins holds profound parallels to marriage and sacrificial love. Just as Christ demonstrated the ultimate act of forgiveness and sacrificial love through His crucifixion and resurrection, couples can draw inspiration from His example to cultivate forgiveness and selfless love within their marital relationships. And if you are going to do this, you've gotta ready your heart God's way. The K.I.S.S. ~ Ready your heart God's Way! 1. Unconditional Love: Just as Jesus showed limitless love and forgiveness towards humanity by sacrificing Himself for our sins, you can aspire to embody a similar spirit of unconditional love in your marriage. Sacrificial love entails putting aside personal desires and ego-driven needs to prioritize the well-being and happiness of one's sweetheart. You can nurture a deep and enduring bond built on grace, compassion, and empathy by choosing to forgive readily and love sacrificially. 2. Redemption and Renewal: The resurrection of Jesus symbolizes the victory over sin and death, offering a path to redemption and spiritual renewal for all believers. In a marital context, forgiveness serves as a catalyst for redemption and transformation within the relationship. By extending forgiveness and seeking reconciliation, you both can experience a renewal of trust, harmony, and intimacy, allowing for growth and healing to take place. This process of renewal through forgiveness paves the way for a strengthened and revitalized marriage. "Forgiveness changes you! You can't forgive and not be changed yourself." ~ Kristianne Wargo 3. Servant Leadership: Jesus didn't come to earth to be served, but to serve! He exemplified servant leadership through His acts of compassion, humility, and sacrifice, setting a model for believers to follow in their interactions with others. In marriage, practicing forgiveness and sacrificial love involves adopting a servant-hearted approach towards one's spouse. By seeking to serve rather than be served, spouses can create a culture of mutual respect, support, and understanding within their relationship. Can you imagine how different marriages would be if you married to serve instead of expecting to be served? Through acts of selflessness and forgiveness, you can emulate Christ's example of servant leadership and cultivate a harmonious and fulfilling marriage centered on sacrificial love. In essence, the power of forgiveness in the context of Jesus Christ's sacrifice and resurrection underscores the transformative impact of forgiveness, sacrificial love, and redemption in marriage. By drawing parallels between Christ's example of forgiveness and sacrificial love and applying these principles to your marriage, you, as a couple, can create a deep sense of compassion, grace, and unity, building a bond that reflects the divine love and forgiveness demonstrated through Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
