3371 Turn the Tables on Bad News

Bad news has a way of creeping into our lives, casting shadows over our hopes and dreams. Yet, amidst the chaos and uncertainty, there lies an opportunity to shift our perspective and turn the tables on bad news. Renowned psychologist and author, Martin Seligman, once said, "Learned helplessness is the giving-up reaction that follows from the belief that whatever you do doesn't matter." These words ring true in the face of adversity. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co It's essential to recognize that our mindset plays a significant role in how we perceive and respond to bad news. By reframing our thoughts and beliefs, we can empower ourselves to overcome challenges and find the silver linings in any situation. The K.I.S.S. ~ Turn the tables on bad news! Psychologist Carol S. Dweck, known for her research on the growth mindset, emphasizes the importance of cultivating a resilient attitude toward setbacks. She states, "The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life." This notion highlights the transformative power of mindset in shaping our responses to adversity. In the words of Kristianne Wargo, "Don't let the chaos of the world bury the blessings that are right in front of you." This powerful reminder serves as a beacon of hope in times of darkness. By acknowledging the blessings amidst the storm, we can find strength and courage to navigate life's challenges. As you navigate the ups and downs of life, it's crucial to remember that bad news does not define us. "Your setback is an opportunity for a comeback." ~ Kristianne Wargo By embracing a positive mindset and focusing on gratitude, you can turn the tables on bad news and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow. 3370 Define Success For Yourself

In a world bombarded with conflicting health advice and trends, it's challenging to know where to take your health journey. Why not stay true to who you are becoming and define success for yourself? Because defining success in terms of taking care of our bodies is a deeply personal journey. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co With many diets, exercise regimens, and well-meaning opinions from experts, the path to health and fitness can seem overwhelmingly complex. However, true success lies in tailoring our lifestyle choices to suit our individual needs and goals. Renowned health professionals stress the importance of customization when it comes to achieving optimal health. As Dr. Mark Hyman, a New York Times bestselling author and physician, aptly puts it, "There is no one-size-fits-all approach to health. Each person is unique, requiring a personalized plan." This sentiment underscores the significance of self-discovery and individualized strategies in the pursuit of wellness. So, how can one navigate this sea of information and determine what truly works best for them? The K.I.S.S. ~ Define success for yourself! Here are three essential steps to help define success in your personal health journey: 1. Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how different foods make you feel, observe the impact of various workout routines on your energy levels, and prioritize activities that promote mental well-being. Your body holds valuable insights that can guide you toward choices that align with your goals. 2. Set Realistic Goals: Establish clear and achievable objectives that are tailored to your preferences and lifestyle. Avoid comparing yourself to others and focus on incremental progress that is sustainable in the long run. As fitness expert Jillian Michaels advises, "Your goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound to ensure success." 3. Embrace Consistency Over Perfection: Consistent effort over time yields lasting results, whereas striving for perfection can lead to burnout and frustration. Find a balance that allows for flexibility and enjoyment in your health pursuits. In the words of Kristianne Wargo, "Success is not about perfection, but about progress and persistence." Ultimately, defining success for yourself in the realm of healthy living involves honoring your individuality, staying attuned to your body's signals, and adopting a balanced and sustainable approach. By embracing this personalized journey, you can create a lifestyle that nurtures your well-being and empowers you to thrive. "Be present. Be incredible. 3368 Playtime: An Ageless Necessity

In a society where the term "play" is often reserved for children, we overlook the vital importance of playtime in our adult lives. Don't let what feeds your creativity become stagnant. Playtime: an ageless necessity. Studies consistently show that play is not just a frivolous activity but a fundamental aspect of human nature that can significantly enhance our well-being and cognitive abilities. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co A study published in the American Journal of Play cites that play is crucial for reducing stress, improving brain function, and fostering creativity in adults. Additionally, research from the University of Edinburgh reveals that engaging in play activities can boost social connections and overall happiness levels. Where does play show up in your life? As we navigate the responsibilities and pressures of adulthood, reintegrating play into our daily lives can have transformative effects on our outlook, mindset, thoughts, and actions. By incorporating play into our routines, we can tap into a sense of joy and spontaneity that revitalizes our spirits and enhances our problem-solving skills. The K.I.S.S. ~ Learn to play again! How would it feel to be a carefree child with the freedom to live? To learn to play again, consider these three practical strategies: 1. Schedule Unstructured Time: Set aside dedicated periods each day for free play without any specific goals or agendas. This could involve engaging in activities like drawing, playing with puzzles, or simply allowing yourself to daydream. Unstructured play encourages creativity and fosters a sense of exploration. 2. Embrace Playful Movement: Explore physical activities that bring out your inner child, such as dancing, hula hooping, or jumping on a trampoline. Physical play not only helps to release endorphins but also improves coordination and flexibility. Remember, it's not about perfection but about embracing the joy of movement. 3. Engage in Social Play: Organize game nights with friends, join a recreational sports team, or participate in community events that involve cooperative play. Social play promotes bonding, communication skills, and a sense of camaraderie that can positively impact your relationships and mental well-being. "Play is not just for children; it is the elixir of youth that nourishes our souls and rejuvenates our spirits." ~ Kristianne Wargo Ultimately, embracing playtime as adults is not just a luxury but a necessity for leading fulfilling and balanced lives. So, let's shed off the constraints of adulthood and rediscover the joy and wonder of play that resides within all of us. "Be present. Be incredible. 3366 Manage Different and Diverse Perspectives in Marriage

Conflicts are inevitable in the journey of marriage. However, how couples manage different and diverse perspectives in marriage can make all the difference in maintaining a strong and healthy relationship. Rather than placing blame on their spouse, each spouse can take proactive steps to manage themselves and foster understanding and compromise within the marriage. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Then, you have to consider that when couples constantly hound each other on what they believe is right without looking at their spouse's position or opinion, it can lead to a breakdown in communication and trust within the marriage. This behavior often stems from a place of ego and a desire to be seen as right or superior, rather than valuing the perspectives and feelings of their partner. This dynamic creates a power struggle within the relationship, where each person is more focused on proving their own point rather than understanding and respecting the other's viewpoint. Furthermore, when couples engage in constant hounding and dismissiveness towards their partner's opinions, it can create a toxic environment of resentment and frustration. Over time, this can erode the emotional connection between spouses, leading to feelings of alienation and isolation within the marriage. It becomes challenging to build a foundation of mutual respect and support when one or both partners are unwilling to listen and consider each other's perspectives. Additionally, whether you're hounding or harassing or just choosing to be difficult, these cycles of wanting to be right can escalate conflicts and disagreements, turning small issues into larger, more contentious battles. This can create a pattern of communication breakdowns and emotional distance, making it difficult for couples to find common ground and work together as a team. Without open and respectful communication, couples may struggle to navigate challenges and differences in a healthy and constructive way, ultimately putting their marriage at risk. If you want to avoid falling into the trap of being a hound dog, which can be detrimental to your marriage, then you want to step up your game. The K.I.S.S. ~ Step up your game! It is essential for couples to practice empathy, active listening, and mutual respect in order to foster a harmonious and supportive relationship built on understanding and cooperation. 1. Consciousness vs. Carelessness Firstly, consciousness refers to being aware of one's thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, like being self-aware. Individuals can better control their reactions during conflicts by recognizing and understanding their triggers and emotional responses. Who wants to be careless? Your lack of attention, awareness, or concern is not going to win you any brownie points. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, John Gottman, emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, stating, "Taking responsibility for our own emotional reactions can significantly impact how we navigate disagreements with our partners." But again, you have to be willing to look at yourself and engage in self-examination. And that consciousness is going to take the energy of a full-time job. So prepare your mind for the hard work ahead. 2. Compassion vs. Callousness Secondly, cultivating empathy towards their spouse's point of view is crucial. Hello, compassion! Empathy lets you see things from your spouse's perspective, fostering understanding and connection. Research by psychologist Sara Konrath supports this, highlighting that empathy is essential for building strong and meaningful relationships. As Kristianne Wargo, a relationship coach, wisely states, "Empathy is the bridge that connects differences in marriage and paves the way for mutual understanding." And if you want to bat a thousand, then continue your callousnessβ€”the lack of compassion, empathy, or sensitivity towards others, which indicates a cold and indifferent attitude that contrasts with the warmth and understanding associated with compassion. 3. Collaborate vs. Compete Lastly, adopting a collaborative mindset is key. Instead of viewing conflicts as a battle to be won, approaching disagreements as opportunities for growth and compromise can lead to more constructive resolutions. Marriage researcher Dr. Sue Johnson affirms this approach, emphasizing that collaboration and teamwork are vital for resolving conflicts in a marriage. Otherwise, you will find yourself keeping score, and then it will be a win-or-lose event every time you come together. Who really wants to play in the Super Bowl every day? Managing differences and diverse perspectives in marriage requires a proactive and introspective approach. By practicing consciousness (self-awareness), compassion (empathy), and collaboration (better together), you'll be able to navigate conflicts with grace and understanding, strengthening your bond with your spouse. 3365 Do Worst-Case Scenarios Serve A Purpose For Parents?

Parenting is a rollercoaster ride, one with unexpected twists, turns, and loop-de-loops. Keeping it real– Parenting is hard. However, in the midst of it all, do worst-case scenarios serve a purpose for parents? As parents, we often find ourselves teetering on the edge of worst-case scenarios, contemplating the what-ifs and how-tos of numerous situations. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But do these dire thoughts truly serve a purpose in guiding our parental instincts, or do they merely add unnecessary stress to an already demanding role? In the chaotic world of parenting, optimism and pessimism often collide, each offering its own unique perspective on handling challenging situations. Do we focus on the bright side, ignoring potential pitfalls? Or do we prepare for the worst, readying ourselves for any adversity that may come our way? The answer may not be clear-cut, as every parent navigates the parenting journey in their own unique way. When faced with a potential worst-case scenario, parents can benefit from adopting a balanced approach to ensure their well-being and sanity remain intact. Yet, it takes a deliberate and conscious effort to distinctly know what you are looking at in regard to the situation your child is facing. If you want to make sure you don't lose yourself in fear and anxiety, consider playing the optimistic game of reality. The K.I.S.S. ~ Play the optimistic game of reality! What are some situations you've experienced where you have found yourself spinning out of control in your mind? Constantly failing Getting into trouble Language used Friends or lack of friends Social media addiction Other addictions Withdrawal Through the lifetime of your parenting, you might encounter a few of these: Sleepless nights and establishing routines Dealing with tantrums and behavioral issues Navigating school transitions and academic challenges- Managing sibling rivalry and conflicts Addressing emotional and mental health concerns Handling peer pressure and social dynamics Promoting healthy habits and balanced nutrition Supporting special needs and individual differences Coping with separation anxiety and attachment Balancing work and family responsibilities Teaching values and instilling discipline Guiding through adolescence and identity formation Preparing for milestone events and transitions Handling emergencies and unexpected crises Cultivating independence and life skills Fostering open communication and trust Encouraging creativity and exploration Addressing financial constraints and planning for the future Here are three strategies to help parents view worst-case scenarios as hypothetical without succumbing to overwhelming fear and anxiety: 1. Acknowledge the possibility without fixating on it: Recognize the worst-case scenario as a potential outcome, but do not let it consume your thoughts. By acknowledging its existence without dwelling on it excessively, you can maintain a realistic perspective while focusing on practical solutions. 2. Seek support from trusted sources: Talk to other parents, seek advice from professionals, or join parenting groups to gain insight and perspective on challenging situations. Sharing your concerns with others can provide reassurance and valuable guidance when navigating uncertain territory. 3. Practice self-care and mindfulness: Amidst the chaos of parenting, remember you can't lose yourself if all of what's happening. And that means you need to prioritize your well-being. Engage in activities that bring you joy, practice mindfulness techniques to stay present, and seek moments of relaxation to recharge your energy. Taking care of yourself empowers you to face potential worst-case scenarios with a clear and focused mind. Also, make sure you eat, sleep, and hydrate well during tough times (and good times, too). In a study conducted by the Journal of Child and Family Studies, researchers found that parents who maintained a balanced perspective on worst-case scenarios exhibited lower levels of stress and anxiety compared to those who fixated on negative outcomes. By approaching challenging situations with a realistic yet optimistic mindset, parents can effectively navigate the ups and downs of parenting while safeguarding their mental health. As Kristianne Wargo wisely said, "In the realm of parenting, worst-case scenarios are merely hypothetical detours on the road to knowing and understanding the present truth." Embracing the uncertainties of parenthood with an open heart and a rational mind allows us to weather any storm that comes our way, emerging stronger and more resilient on the other side. 3364 Storms Don't Last Forever

In life's unpredictable ride, we often find ourselves caught in the storm of circumstances that can dampen our spirits. The weather outside may mirror the clouds in our hearts but remember; storms don't last forever. When the rain falls the hardest, it's a reminder that the sun is just behind those gray curtains, waiting to shine brighter than ever before. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Tim Grover once said, "Don't fear failure. They are stepping stones to who you are becoming. Embrace the storms of life, for they water the seeds of resilience and perseverance within us. The K.I.S.S. ~ Storms don't last forever! In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, remember your inner strength. You are a warrior, a woman of impact capable of conquering mountains and overcoming obstacles. The road may be rocky, but with each step forward, you are closer to the summit of your dreams. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!" ~ Kristianne Wargo As Kristianne Wargo wisely puts it, "In the dance of life, even the missteps add rhythm to our soul." ~ Kristianne Wargo "Every stumble, every fall, every tear shed is a part of your unique melody. Embrace the symphony of your life, for it is in embracing the lows that you truly appreciate the highs." ~ Kristianne Wargo When the sky seems gray and the winds howl, remind yourself that storms are temporary. The sun lurks behind the clouds, painting a masterpiece of hope and possibility. Keep your chin up, for brighter days are just around the corner. You are stronger than you know, and this storm shall pass, leaving you with a renewed sense of purpose and resilience. So, my friend, hold on to faith, raise your spirits high, and know that after every storm, the rainbow of possibilities awaits you. Let the rain cleanse your spirit, let the thunder awaken your courage, and let the winds carry you towards the sunshine of a brand new day. 3363 Striving For Balance

In a world where the pursuit of work-life balance seems like the ultimate goal, many experts argue that the idea of balance is merely an illusion. What do you do if striving for balance is not working for you? For most people, it's fun to talk at the cooler about how great life is and how well put together they are. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But are they really? Is living a balanced life a real thing or a myth? For some, it seems like it's working. But for others, they get lost in the mess of life and don't even know if it's real or not simply because of a lack of time. Tim Grover, a renowned coach who has worked with legendary athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, boldly claims, "Athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant didn't achieve unparalleled success by striving for balance. They understood that excellence requires an unrelenting focus and dedication that goes beyond what is considered balanced." That's where the water gets a little murky. You have to know the definition of what you define as balanced. What does that even mean? Unfortunately, life is not about balance. It's more about how you ebb and flow in your life. The key here lies in embracing the concept of harmony rather than balance. Achieving a life that serves you well doesn't necessarily mean achieving perfect balance in every aspect. It's about your presence in each moment and where your focus is in that moment. So if balance is what you think you are wanting, consider discovering the world of presence. The K.I.S.S. ~ Be present! Here are three actionable steps to help you live a fulfilled life that aligns with your values and priorities, even if it's not perfectly balanced. It's all about harmony and your presence. 1. Prioritize Self-Care Over Perfection Rather than chasing after the elusive ideal of balance, focus on prioritizing self-care and self-compassion. Take the time to assess your needs and boundaries, and don't be afraid to say no to things that drain your energy. Remember, self-care isn't selfish; it's essential for your overall well-being. As Tim Grover aptly puts it, "Avoid the trap of living on autopilot and instead take charge of your destiny. Kobe, like all true champions, understood that living a life on purpose requires intentional choices and a relentless commitment to excellence." 2. Embrace Flexibility and Adaptability In a world that is constantly changing and evolving, rigidly adhering to a strict notion of balance can lead to frustration and burnout. Instead, cultivate a mindset of flexibility and adaptability. Allow yourself to ebb and flow with the natural rhythms of life, adjusting your priorities and commitments as needed. As Kristianne Wargo wisely states, "Life is a beautiful dance of highs and lows, twists and turns. Embrace the fluidity of your journey and remember that growth often occurs in moments of imbalance." 3. Cultivate Meaningful Connections and Community While the idea of balance may imply an equal distribution of time and energy across all areas of your life, true fulfillment often comes from nurturing meaningful relationships and connections. Invest in building a supportive community of friends, family, and mentors who uplift and inspire you. Tim Grover echoes this sentiment, saying, "Surround yourself with a team of mentors, supporters, and like-minded individuals who share your passion for living on purpose. Building a strong support system will fuel your motivation and drive you towards your goals, just as it did for Kobe." In conclusion, living a life that serves you well is not about achieving perfect balance in all areas, but rather about finding harmony and alignment with your values and priorities. Embrace self-care, flexibility, and meaningful connections, and remember that true fulfillment comes from honoring your unique journey, imperfections and all. "Balance works when you are present in your every day, giving yourself the opportunity to be flexible in every way." ~ Kristianne Wargo "Be present. Be incredible. 3362 Embrace the Total Eclipse of the Heart

Sometimes, in the shadows of doubt and darkness, we long for a moment of renewal and transformation that brightens every corner of our being. Embrace the total eclipse of the heart. Yesterday, we witnessed the total solar eclipse, where the moon momentarily totally obscured the sun, casting a veil of darkness. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co How much of our own lives are overshadowed by darkness, by self-doubt and negative thoughts that plague our minds? "I'm not enough." "I'll never amount to anything." "Why me?" Do these phrases sound familiar? Do they hit too close to home, perhaps even bringing tears to your eyes? But amidst the darkness, we must remember – at the end of each eclipse, there is light. What is your light in the darkness? Who is your beacon of hope when all seems lost? As we search for answers, we must remember that even in the darkest moments, there is a glimmer of light waiting to break through. In the midst of cloudy skies and rain, I stood waiting for the solar eclipse to reveal itself. Despite the obstacles, when the time came, the clouds shifted, the wind intensified, and the rain fell harder. It was a reminder that even when we can't see the light, it is there, waiting to shine through. Just as the total solar eclipse was a celestial event beyond our control, so too is the transformation of our hearts not solely our doing, but a divine work. We long for a different life, a new self, a soul on fire – and that journey begins with a total eclipse of the heart. "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10) With faith and belief, we can invite God to provide that total eclipse of the heart, to shine His light into the darkest corners of our souls, reminding us that with Him, all things are possible. It's time to embrace the total eclipse of your heart and let the light in. The K.I.S.S. ~ Embrace the total eclipse of the heart! In the cosmic ballet of sun and moon, A dance of shadows, a mystical tune. The solar eclipse, a celestial show, Revealing mysteries we may never know. Just as the moon cloaks the sun's bright light, In life's shadows, we find insight. For in every person, a story unfolds,A tapestry of wonders waiting to be told. Like the eclipse unveils a hidden view, In each soul, there's magic too. A brilliance that shines, obscured at times, But waiting to burst through life's confines. Through the darkness, a glimmer shines, A spark of hope in troubled times. In every heart, a light does gleam, A beacon of strength, a radiant beam. So marvel at the eclipse, marvel at the sight, But remember, within you burns a light. A light that shines uniquely bright, Illuminating your path through day and night. As the universe aligns in perfect grace, Know that within you, greatness takes place. The solar eclipse a mirror to behold,Reflecting the wonders within your soul. "Be present. Be incredible.
