155: Be Grateful For Your Seeds
I just returned from the last leg of my two-month vacation and I feel recharged and freaking ready to go! So today I want to remind you to be grateful for your seed. What the heck do I mean? You see, we all have special little seeds inside of us and that in turn becomes your business and eventually your wealth. Those little seeds could be a variety of things, such as a special talent or skill, an idea or some sort of innovation that no one has. Regardless of what it is, we all have them, but the problem is that we're not grateful for them. We're not grateful because that seed hasn't turned into a full-blown crop/harvest yet and we're comparing our seed to another's crop (that yes, was once a seed). Here's where people need to step back and realize that only time and consistent effort will turn that seed into a crop. Don't compare your journey to someone who's already put that time/effort in or is in a completely different area of expertise. "Your seed is unique to you and that's why it's valuable." Stop being pissed at the rainy days when things are seemingly putting your seed at a standstill and understand that we need those days to help us grow – literally! When it comes to comparing – just stop! "Look at each other's seeds with admiration, not envy." It's not a competition. Instead, figure out a way that you can help those who are already excelling (or maybe someone who's not). I assure you that when you collaborate and help others, your business will grow faster and bigger as a result. Know that if you're putting in the effort and taking care of your seed that it will eventually grow into a bountiful harvest – it just needs a little (sometimes a lot) TLC from you. "Be grateful for what your seed is about to be, but also what it is today." Your seeds are unique to YOU so don't deprive the world of its greatness. My goal is for us all to be happier, healthier and wealthier farmers reaping a huge harvest! Who's with me? In This Episode We Talk about: Why time and consistent effort are essential when it comes to turning your seed into a crop Why we shouldn't compare our seed to another's The importance of collaboration Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. 154: Life Coach To The Stars, Tim Storey
It was such a privilege to have my friend, Tim Storey, on the podcast. No matter how long or short our conversations are I always leave them a better person – and I know you will too. His words will set a fire in anyone's soul! Tim's story began in Compton, California where his family of seven lived in a two-bedroom apartment. It was there that he learned to "think big in small places." That thought compounded later on in a life-changing conversation with his sixth-grade teacher when he was told, "I think you are brilliant." From that moment, Tim bought into that idea, took it to heart and committed himself to helping that brilliant come out in some way. Fast forward to today and let's just say, Tim's teacher knew what he was talking about. Since that day, Tim has nurtured that seed of belief with faith, taking action and believing in a little bit of magic, too – and loves sharing that knowledge with others. I hope you enjoy our inspiring conversation as Tim discusses miracles, taking power steps, the difference between a God idea and a good idea and what to do if you find yourself in a season of setback. Can't wait to hear what you think and if you experience any breakthroughs as a result! -- Question Highlights: What is one of your superpowers? Who is someone who's changed your life? What's your favorite speech you've ever given? What's one regret that you have? Could you share a little about your upbringing? How does someone go from believing in miracles to expecting them? How early did you know/expect that you would do big things? Is it our responsibility to go find these moments of inspiration or should we just wait around and trip across them? As a Godly man, what is your view on gathering wealth? How does someone get into a place of finding these God ideas and how do they take action? Can you tell us about your Utmost app? Is it OK to give out loud? Or are you supposed to keep it to yourself? In This Episode We Talk about: Tim's upbringing and life-changing conversation with his 6th grade teacher Miracles – believing, expecting, receiving and releasing them Surrounding yourself with those with similar mindsets and motives Taking power steps (steps with purpose and intent) How the Jackson 5/Michael Jackson made Tim believe in magic Intentionally going after knowledge and information that builds faith and makes us better people Building faith on a daily basis What to do if you're in a season of setback What a God idea is vs. a good idea When and why you need to stop and take inventory Partnering with power for a comeback Humbling yourself to learn what you need to know The Law of Harvest Tim's favorite moment of giving And so much more… -- Tim's Thoughts… "Think big in small places." "Feed your faith, starve your doubt." "You cannot give what you don't have." "The way to get out of a difficult situation is to work your land." "Success is finding the need and filling it." "God has blessed me so now I can be a blessing." "An utmost God does not want almost children." -- Tim Storey is an acclaimed author, speaker and life coach, well known for inspiring and motivating people of all walks of life, from entertainment executives, celebrities and athletes to adults and children in the most deprived neighborhoods in the country. Tim has traveled to seventy-five countries and spoken to millions of people. He often meets privately to counsel high-profile leaders in various industries. Tim Storey helps people create the future they desire. 153: What You Have TODAY Does Not Determine TOMORROW'S Abundance
If you're experiencing feelings of lack, scarcity or worry right now, I hope my message today helps free you: "Your abundance tomorrow is not determined by what you have today." We all have these feelings at one time or another, whether we're super successful or barely making ends meet – and that's OK! But we must do our best to get back into an energy of abundance by taking one step forward (big or small). Today, you may not have what you want, but I bet you have a great idea and some skillsets that could help you put it into action. You never know what tomorrow will bring… Maybe with the help of another thriving individual, you'll put it into action and have a major breakthrough, but you have to keep taking action. Because there's only one thing that will create the abundance for you…and that's YOU! It's up to you to go just one more step further than you already have. "Your future is in your hands." Take 100% responsibility for where you are today. Yes, the good and the bad. This may feel either frustrating or empowering, but by taking responsibility, you have control of your life. You receive the blame and the credit no matter what. Sure I'm abundant right now, but Lori and I had our down-and-out moments too. There's nothing special about me. I have a few talents and a whole lot of gaps to go with it. That's why it's up to the individual to fill in those missing gaps and take action to fill them. We are all just one step, one moment away from finally creating the abundance we want tomorrow. It's just up to us to go and grab it! Are you ready? You've got this. In This Episode We Talk about: Why abundance is not determined by what you have The one thing that determines your abundance Taking 100% responsibility for where you're at Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. 152: How to Connect with ANYONE with Alex Banayan
Imagine being set on a trajectory for the majority of your life, only to wake up one day questioning whether or not you're on your path or a path someone else put you on. This is what happened to my guest and author, Alex Banayan. From an early age, Alex's parents' dream was for him to become a doctor, and up until his freshman year in college it was what he thought he wanted to – until he realized it didn't. Upon this realization, he attempted to seek the answers for how other successful people got their start – only to realize that such a book didn't exist. Overcome with inspiration and a drive to write one on his own, he knew he had to find the funds to back this passion project. Having trouble thinking about anything but this project, the day before his freshman year final exams, he made the decision to trade an all-nighter studying for exams with one on how to hack The Price Is Right. With a slim chance of actually winning, Alex beat the odds, won a sailboat, sold it, and used the prize money to fund his quest to learn from the world's most successful people. Throughout our conversation, we talk all about his seven-year journey to write The Third Door and all the rejections, "flinch" moments and courage that took place to make it happen. Alex is an EPIC storyteller, which you'll hear in this episode and his book. There were so many goose-bump-inducing moments and nuggets of valuable insight shared and I can't wait for you to experience all of them and let me know your thoughts, too. Of all the authors I've interviewed, this is literally my favorite book so far. Go out and grab his book ASAP – you won't be sorry! -- Question Highlights: Who is someone who's changed your life? What's your favorite speech you've ever given? What's one regret that you have? How did you end up interviewing the world's most influential people? How do you hack the Price Is Right? How many names made the list and how many made the book? Who was the coolest person you ended up meeting? Who made you the most nervous/prompted the biggest "flinch?" What's your advice to get over your "flinch?" What was the worst rejection you received? Were there any people along the way that pulled you back on track and didn't allow you to quit? Who did you want to interview that you weren't able to? Where did you get this obsessive persistence from? What would you say is the single-most-important lesson of your book? Now that you've spent 7 years knocking down doors, is it fate or luck that finally allows these things to happen? Or is it good old-fashioned making it happen yourself? How do you view money, success and wealth after writing The Third Door? In This Episode We Talk about: How Alex went from an 18-year-old pre-med kid whose parents' biggest dream was for him to be a doctor to interviewing some of the world's most influential people Alex's big win on The Price Is Right Where the list of people started when he first set out to write his book, The Third Door The journey of getting through to influential people What the crippling "flinch" is The fear that was present in all the successful people he interviewed The difference between fear and courage Rejection and two lessons Alex learned from it What fueled Alex's persistence when writing his book Why Alex believes luck accounts for 90% of his success The role generosity played in his book Why you don't become a billionaire on a salary And so much more… -- Alex's Thoughts… "The most extreme expectations are the ones that aren't explicitly said." "Courage is acknowledging how scared you are, analyzing the consequences, and then deciding that you care so much about it you're going to take one thoughtful step forward anyway." "The core belief was like a thread that, even in my darkest times, I could hold onto and it kept me from calling it quits." "The only thing worse than an unproductive hour is quitting all together." "Persistence is the means of achieving the goal." "The soul of the book is possibility." "You can give someone all the best tools and knowledge in the world and their life can still be stuck, but if you change what someone believes is possible, they'll never be the same." "The strongest lessons are the ones that are never said." "The hard work is the last 10%." -- Alex Banayan is the author of the national bestseller The Third Door, which chronicles his seven-year quest tracking down Bill Gates, Lady Gaga, Warren Buffett, Maya Angelou, Steven Spielberg, Jane Goodall, Steve Wozniak, Jessica Alba, Larry King, and dozens more of the world's most successful people to uncover how they broke through and launched their careers. Banayan has been named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, Business Insider's Most Powerful People Under 30, and been featured in major media including CNBC, MSNBC, Fortune, Forbes, Billboard, Businessweek, Bloomberg TV, Fox News, and CBS News. An acclaimed keynote speaker, Banayan has presented the Third Door framework to business conferences and corporate leadership teams around the world including Apple, Google, Nike, IBM, Salesforce, Snapchat, Disney, Harvard, and countless others. 149: The Surest Person in the Room WINS
Do you ever wonder why some people succeed and connect with people right away, while others, when given the same opportunities, just can't seem to pull it together? Over the years I've noticed one common trend that sets these people apart, no matter the kind of sales, business or opportunity – and that's certainty. "The most valuable thing you have is swagger." I was able to observe this same trait while at an entrepreneurial event this week with 15,000 people. Everyone at this event has the hopes of being really successful, but realistically only about 1,000 will actually see those results. So if all these people were offered the same products and opportunities, why isn't everyone really successful? It comes down to your energetic posture. When you approach someone, do you begin your conversation with confidence and excitement? Or do you tend to act shy and unsure of yourself while tripping over your words instead? When you're first meeting someone and/or presenting them with an opportunity, they want to look at you and see that you a.) Know where you're going b.) How you're getting there and c.) Know who you want to come with you. Sounds simple, but within that first 30-60 seconds of meeting someone, people are often already making the decision to link arms with you – or not. "The surest person in the room wins." Now this isn't to say that you won't get nervous – we all have different areas in our lives that bring about that flutter, but it's your choice to show up either big, confident and sure of yourself or small, meek and unsure. "You don't have to show up how you feel – it's just a choice." So stop telling yourself that you can't do x-y-z because you're too shy or introverted. It's just a story! Every single one of you can show up as the most certain and confident person you know you are at the core. And it doesn't take years to do! Give it a few practice runs, get out there with certainty and it's inevitable that your success will follow suit! In This Episode We Talk about: The No. 1 reason some people succeed and some don't – even though they're given the same opportunities The importance of energetic posture Putting a stop to limiting beliefs and stories Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. If you've been thinking of incorporating a webinar into your business, don't miss out on this freeing and immeasurably value episode. Now, for Lori and I to incorporate his advice as well! -- Question Highlights: What's one of your favorite books? What's one of your superpowers? What's one of your favorite quotes? Who is someone who's changed your life? What does your career journey like so far? What should people consider when pricing their online courses? Why is it that you can sell for a higher price and an even higher conversion when you're selling via webinar vs. anything else? What are your top tips that people should know to have a successful webinar? In This Episode We Talk about: Why Casey doesn't think he's generous Casey's career journey thus far How increasing Casey's course price increased his sales Valuing your time and worth Why pricing is based on results How webinars make it easier to connecting one-on-one with people and build relationships The importance of knowing your audience's pain and giving them a solution Why sincerity and value are necessary when conducting a webinar Sharing the common solution and then revealing the uncommon solution The sale/buy-out of majority shares of Casey's business And so much more… -- Casey's Thoughts… "The more successful somebody is the more impacted I feel." "Generosity is not a zero-sum game." "There's an audience ready for you – no matter who you are." "Take ownership of your expertise and what you know." -- Casey Zeman is the founder of the popular webinar too,l EasyWebinar and the TribeMinded method. His top clients are generating 10k-20k a day from his strategies and software. 147: How To Grow Your Audience
Today I'm going to give you the answer to the question of why your audience might not be growing – regardless of what business you're in. Brace yourself, it's really quite simple. The No. 1 reason your audience isn't growing is because you're not putting information and content – that's shareable – out there. But was does it mean to be truly shareable? It's about blowing the minds of your current audience so much that they are compelled to share it with their audience – and then their audience becomes your audience. See how this can turn into powerful ripple effect? Your content has to be so DANG good that it practically forces others to share. Here are three ways to increase your chances: Start creating a better experience. This can happen simply by always having the posture and intent of putting something extraordinary out there. Do it more often. Create, create, create…share, share, share. Ask others to share and give them directions. That last point may make you feel a bit awkward, but people crave specific directions and certainty. And besides, you likely won't receive what you don't ask for, right? So here's a little test… go over to Instagram, give me follow @chriswharder and share one of my posts, too. Make sure to tag me so I can send you a thank you! I love hearing from you all and can't wait to hear what happens when you implement the above tips!
