The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 419 – The Inner Game of Sales – Part II

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_419-The_Inner_Game_of_Sales_Series-Part_II.mp3 Are you looking for ways to boost sales in your business? Listen to this 5-part series titled, “The Inner Game of Sales.” You’ll learn tips and tricks to boosting your income in a short period of time. These tips will make selling easier, more profitable, and more fun. To get the best results, please listen to and study all 5 episodes. This is part 2 of 5. Most people who grew up in a middle-class, blue-collar family have negative associations about salespeople, and therefore don’t feel comfortable with sales. The only people who were taught that sales are amazing tend to be those who grew up in an entrepreneurial family. Your internal “stories” and beliefs about sales are controlling your ability to influence other people during sales conversations. If you want to change this, you need to get comfortable with influencing people—which starts with how you view sales, and the questions you ask people. In today’s episode you’ll learn:   Your job as a salesperson is to influence people and help them say “yes” to what they want Everybody wants something; they just have a difficult time getting to it inside of themselves The number one question to ask in a sales conversation is, “What do you want?” The goal of a sales conversation is NOT to convince anyone of anything; it’s to create a safe space for them to say “yes” to what they want—and to help them understand why they want to do something Most of us resist being “told” something; but everyone is programmed to answer questions  If you have someone’s engagement—if you have them volunteering information to you—you’re influencing them If there’s something “off” in your subconscious mind about how YOU feel about money, sales, or even yourself—you’ll have a value conflict and a “double binding message” that will cause the person not to want to buy from you   It’s amazing how often we talk ourselves out of doing something good for ourselves. The statistics around this are unbelievable. As a salesperson, if you understand this phenomenon, you can help people avoid doing that to themselves—by influencing them to say “yes” to what they truly want. Stay tuned next week for part 3 of this 5-part series!   Links & Resources Episode 416 – The Inner Game of Sales – Part I: Having the Right Mindset Around Sales Everybody wants something; they just have a difficult time finding exactly what that is.  Get on the right track with more sales focused episodes from The Successful Mind Podcast: Episode 020 – How Money Moves Episode 194 – Sales is an Art Episode 333 – The Psychology of Sales If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 418 – Mindset Monday’s – Break Your Rules

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_418-TEM90A_MDM_9-17-20-Break_Your_Rules.mp3 The average person knows all about what’s “impossible,” why something won’t work, why it can’t be done, and the “rules” that don’t work. That’s the definition of mediocrity. However, for those who seek success, there are certain rules that make you successful. You have to be willing to stake everything on those rules. As Napoleon Hill said in Think and Grow Rich, “Success comes to those who become success conscious.” In today’s episode you’ll learn:   Being “success conscious” means you’re aware of what it takes to win Being “failure conscious” means you let your external reality control what you think If you’re not getting the results you want, it’s because there’s a problem you’re not aware of—and once you become aware of it, you can change it If you’re not seeing a solution, you might have a “rule” set up in your mind that’s causing you not to see it—and which is causing you to go into the perfect excuse for why you can’t reach your goal You can demand to yourself that you see the solution to your problem (by understanding that if a problem exists, the solution must be here) Being “success conscious” is all about yes’s—everything in your marketing, advertising, speaking, books, and sales calls should be designed to do one thing very clearly—get a person to a “yes” or a “no” It’s better to get to a “no” quickly than to stay in the ambiguity of mediocrity and confusion    When you stop pursuing your goal because of a problem that shows up, it’s because you’ve convinced yourself you can’t do it, it won’t work, your resources have run out, or the thing you need isn’t here. Becoming success conscious allows you to change your reality based on how you think. Break the “rules” you’ve set up that have been holding you back.   Links & Resources Would you like to join other successful minds in a supportive community full of people focused on growth?  If so, check out my FREE Transformation Facebook Group. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 417 – Full Throttle Thursday – Best Biographies

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_417-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Most_Inspiring_Biographies.mp3 Today BT and I are delving into some of the best biographies I’ve ever read. Many of the world’s greatest leaders, businesspeople, and athletes didn’t experience success until later in life—after an arduous, continuous battle of overcoming themselves in order to get to that point. Many of the world’s greats went through extraordinary hardship, overcoming terrible things in their childhoods. While some people with difficult upbringings go on to do terrible things with their adult life, others (like Michael Jordan) channel their early difficulties into becoming one of the greatest of the greats. In this episode, we discuss:   How Michael Jordan was cut from his high school team and had a difficult childhood, yet went on to become of the greatest basketball players of all time How Abraham Lincoln faced depression, psychiatric issues, and failure after failure—and yet he made one of the greatest decisions ever in human history (“do we make slavery illegal? Are all men actually created equal?”) How Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation changed everything, as he tried to get back to the vision the founding fathers had for America—and why his decision to free the slaves was so unpopular at the time (if you think people hated Trump—you should see the hate they had for Lincoln) How General Patton’s biggest challenge was overcoming internally whether or not he was a coward—and if it weren’t for his actions during World War II, we might all be speaking German today How Ray Kroc believed he was here to do something big, and how he changed the world with McDonald’s (whether you think it’s good or bad, he ultimately changed the world)   When you read about these people’s lives, it seems like they were preparing for something big their whole life. If there’s anything we can learn from their stories, it’s that in order to become great, you have to overcome something great.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 417 – FULL THROTTLE THURSDAY – Best Biographies Take the Full Throttle approach to life and learning with more inspiring listens from The Successful Mind Podcast: Episode 007 – The Untethered Soul Episode 247 – The Last Dance & Setting the Highest Standard Inside Episode 366 – Be Relentless to Become Unstoppable If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 416 – The Inner Game of Sales – Part I

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_416-The_Inner_Game_of_Sales_Series-Part_I.mp3 Are you looking for ways to boost sales in your business? Listen to this 5-part series titled, “The Inner Game of Sales.” You’ll learn tips and tricks to boosting your income in a short period of time. These tips will make selling easier, more profitable, and more fun. To get the best results, please listen to and study all 5 episodes. This is part 1 of 5. My philosophy on sales is to have a simple conversation with people that takes them to a “yes” or a “no” right away. You’re either in or you’re out. Then we’re on to the next person. That’s it. This conversation has made me hundreds of millions of dollars over the years. My clients have made millions of dollars using these same teachings. And it’s not difficult. In today’s episode, you’ll learn:   My story of how I started off in sales 22 years ago, and how a friend who was really good at sales helped me pinpoint what I was doing wrong in my conversations Making sales is about influencing a person to get very clear on one of two things—their “yes” or their “no” Anytime you make a sale, it changes the other person—and what matters most is why they’re doing it (not why you think they should do it) You either sell someone on the reasons why they CAN do it, or they’ll sell you on their reasons why they CAN’T do it If you’re having trouble closing the sale, it’s because you’re not selling the other person—they’re selling YOU on why they can’t buy How your emotional reactions are getting in the way of your sales—and why you need to break through your own internal resistance on asking someone to buy something What’s really happening when someone says, “Let me get back to you,” and then you never hear from them again   Plus, I share a simple exercise that will help you get past your own discomfort, so you show up powerful to a sales call: have 100 conversations in the next seven days, and stay on the phone until they either buy or hang up on you. I did this 22 years ago, and it had a magical effect on my sales. I started seeing the patterns that showed up, because I was having conversations back to back, almost 18 hours a day. Your biggest challenge in sales is getting yourself straight—i.e., really understanding what’s going on inside of you, so that you can be the most powerful, compassionate, clear, communicative salesperson out there with extraordinary results. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 415 – Mindset Monday’s – Fall In Love With The Process

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_415-TEM90A_MDM_8-5-20-Fall_In_Love_WIth_The_Process.mp3 Back when I worked on a forklift, I changed three things in my attitude that transformed my whole life:   acted like I love what I did did everything to the best of my ability treated everybody with total respect   The first one—acting like I love what I did—completely changed my perception. “Love” is a feeling of resonance. When you’re in harmony with something, you feel that resonance within you. It creates a sense of passion. You can use love proactively in your life and see massive changes take place right in front of your face. In today’s episode you’ll learn:   How to think about the state and quality of everything in your life by asking, “Am I in love? ”—whether it’s with another person, your work, yourself, or anything else When you’re in love with something, you don’t have to hold it in your mind with your will—it’s always there at the forefront of your mind If you’re not in love with something, you shouldn’t be doing it—or at the very least, you should change how you’re perceiving it Changing your evaluation of something can allow you to fall in love with it more easily Your passion needs to be fueled by your deeper desire (think: a magnificent obsession)   Look at everything in your life—including people, your work, your home, your car, your pets, and everything else. Ask, “Am I in love?” Is there a feeling of passion around everything in your life? If not, what needs to change?  Once you get to the truth inside of you, you can begin to determine whether (and what) you want to change. If you’re not in love with something, change it—or change your perception of it.   Links & Resources Would you like to join other successful minds in a supportive community full of people focused on growth?  If so, check out my FREE Transformation Facebook Group. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 414 – Full Throttle Thursday – It’s Conor’s World & We’re Just Living In It

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_414-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Conors_World.mp3 Conor McGregor is an MMA fighter, a businessman, a fantastic marketer, and a master at promoting himself. He’s almost known more for what goes on outside the octagon, than what goes on in it. By the age of 32, he amassed a net worth of $200 million, which includes MMA, boxing, endorsements, a whiskey business, sponsors, men’s wear, and sports management. From a business perspective, I find Conor fascinating. He sells himself constantly and keeps himself relevant—always in the conversation. He’s building a legacy for himself, making a ton of money, and probably going down as one of the greatest fighters in history.  In today’s episode, BT and I chat about all things Conor. We discuss:   Conor’s background as a proud Irishman  How he exemplifies greatness, even while playing the role of a “bad guy”  Why he credits The Secret to changing his life—he “attracts all this stuff to him” by building an image of it in his mind Why Conor’s brand can only keep improving, and why he’ll probably end up as a billionaire—as long as he keeps doing what he’s doing, stays relevant in the minds of people, and doesn’t mess up too much CTE in athletes, psychotic breaks, and people with extreme personalities who don’t express their feelings in a healthy way What I would ask Conor McGregor if he was on my podcast   Clearly it’s Conor’s world, and we’re just living in it.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 414 – FULL THROTTLE THURSDAY – It’s Conor’s World & We’re Just Living In It Conor McGregor: How I Used The Law of Attraction to Visualize my Success into Reality Conor McGregor: The Law of Attraction & How to Use It Take your mindset Full Throttle with more power packed lessons from The Successful Mind Podcast: Episode 188 – Conor McGregor & Embracing Your Dark Side Inside Episode 340 – You Can’t Be a Winner if You’re Not In a Fight Episode 161 – David From The Stage: A Path to Freedom – Part II If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 413 – Movers & Shakers – Chris & Nik Nikic

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_413-Movers_Shakers-Chris_Nik_Nikic.mp3 In today’s episode I’ve got an incredible interview with Chris & Nik Nikic. Chris is the first person with Down syndrome to finish an Ironman triathlon. He’s the author of 1% Better: Reaching My Full Potential and How You Can Too. He’s like the Roger Bannister of Down syndrome—after Bannister broke the four-minute mile, so many other people were able to do it too. As a public speaker, Chris is inspiring people to re-think what’s possible. His father, Nik, is a business coach and entrepreneur. Nik says from the moment Chris was born, doctors told him and his wife they’d have no independence—they’d have to take care of their son for the rest of his (and their) life. Believing this idea for 18 years was one of their biggest regrets. They realized they could either let their son sit on a couch for the rest of his life—or they could push him to see what he was capable of doing. They chose to prepare Chris for independence, while giving him a sense of purpose.  In this episode we discuss:   How measuring Chris’s progress changed Nik’s perception of what was possible How Chris used his “1% better” system to build up to doing 400 pushups—by adopting the philosophy of “one more”  The “1% better” concept builds on itself, like compound interest, and you can use it to improve each day One of the biggest problems we have in the world right now is that we’re not raising people to have a sense of purpose Why you must choose between the pain of pursuing your dream—or the dream itself (which one is going to win?) How Chris set a goal to do an Ironman and completed it even during the middle of the pandemic   Chris is proof that anyone can train their mind and body to do things that go beyond what others thought was possible. Nik believes his son can achieve anything he sets his mind to. And if Chris can do it—so can you.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 413 – Movers & Shakers w/ Chris & Nik Nikic Chris Nikic – 1% Better Pledge to be 1% Better and hit Chris up on Instagram! The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 412 – Mindset Monday’s – Who Am I?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_412-TEM90A_MDM_8-11-20-Who_Am_I.mp3 Today I’m pulling some gems from Neville Goddard’s book, Five Lessons. He has an amazing chapter on how your thoughts affect your circumstances (similar to James Allen’s book, As a Man Thinketh). Most people are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves. So they stay stuck where they are—then blame their circumstances for where they’re at in life. But circumstance does not make the man. It reveals him to himself. In other words, the outer conditions of your life will always be in harmony with your inner state. If you wish to radically alter your circumstances, you can begin by simply asking yourself, “Who am I?” In this episode you’ll learn:   What it takes to become “the rightful master of yourself” The most important thing in the world is your concept of self (i.e., how you view yourself) The alteration of your circumstances reflects the exact ratio of your altered mental condition You can produce a major shift in your thinking by realizing, “God, himself is incomplete without me” “Good thoughts bear good fruits; bad thoughts bear bad fruits” If you’re reacting to something emotionally, you can pause and ask yourself, “Who am I in this situation?”—this brings you to a place of higher consciousness The outer world of circumstance shapes itself to the inner world of thought   One of the best examples of impressing one’s thought upon challenging circumstance is Viktor Frankl, a Jewish psychiatrist and Nazi concentration camp survivor. Instead of being sucked into the brutal reality of the concentration camp itself—he held the thought of what he desired as an outcome, and this caused him and others to be looked over, and their lives were spared. If you want to change your world, start by asking “Who am I?” Before every call, every meeting, and every interaction—pause for 10 seconds and ask, “Who am I?” You’ll be greatly rewarded.   Links & Resources   Would you like to join other successful minds in a supportive community full of people focused on growth?  If so, check out my FREE Transformation Facebook Group. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 411 – Full Throttle Thursday – Gone Too Soon

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_411-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Gone_Too_Soon.mp3 Today BT and I are delving into some interesting topics we don’t normally cover, including celebrities and famous people who died way too young. Think: the “27 Club”—people who left this world around age 27. Many of them abused drugs and alcohol, lived a hard life, and lost themselves to fame. Celebrity status is so interesting, because you’re dealing with people who go from having nothing—to all of a sudden, having a limitless, exhaustive amount of money to spend on whatever they want. This does something very interesting to a person spiritually, if they’re not grounded in themselves. In today’s episode we discuss:   Why “age 27” seems to be a turning point for many people, where they enter a maturing process A Human Design reading I had once that was very accurate How numerology and astrology readings can be accurate, but you’ve also got to be careful with them, because they can lock you into certain “ideas” about yourself You’re not limited to anything that happens during a “reading”—because you have conscious choice; you can choose to do something different in regards to what you know about yourself Why many celebrities who died early just sort of spiritually “checked out” The idea of connecting to your own mortality and understanding that you can go at any time; nothing is promised or guaranteed—so you really have to live for today   Fame is not all glitz and glam. A lot of nasty stuff goes on behind the scenes that’s absolutely bonkers. We touch on entertainers who died in their 20s and 30s including Kurt Cobain, James Dean, Brian Jones, Sharon Tate, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Tupac, Chris Farley—and others who died way too soon, like Anthony Bourdain, Kobe Bryant, and more.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 411 – FULL THROTTLE THURSDAY – Gone Too Soon   Success is not just limited to celebrities. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 410 – Movers & Shakers – Laurie Woolever

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_410-Movers_Shakers-Laurie_Woolever.mp3 Laurie Woolever is the author of Bourdain: The Definitive Oral Biography, a fantastic book about the life of Anthony Bourdain. She also worked with him on World Travel: An Irreverent Guide. In today’s episode Laurie shares how she first met Bourdain, and how he hired her to help with recipe editing and testing for his first cookbook, Anthony Bourdain’s Le Halles Cookbook. She sheds light on what it was like to work with him, his personality, and what she’d do differently if she could go back and do it all over again.
