The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Prejudice, Racism, and Tribalism: A Primer for White People by Anthony M D’Agostino MD
Prejudice, Racism, and Tribalism: A Primer for White People by Anthony M D'Agostino MD
https://amzn.to/3XNP0tW
We hear it all the time: Americans need to have a conversation about race. The obvious reason for that recommendation is what appears to be increasing racial polarization more than fifty years after the landmark civil rights legislation of the 1960s. Why is this happening at this time in history? Are these conversations only reinforcing existing attitudes and prejudices? Is it possible for White people to have a conversation about race, even with one another, without becoming angry? Is this why we (White people) have become so obsessed with military weaponry? When all is said and done, who's winning and who's losing?
This book is the author's way of exploring these issues, one at a time. Prejudice, racism, and tribalism are, in a sense, variations on a theme. All people harbor prejudices. Racial prejudices are only one form among many. Raise someone in a racially homogeneous society, and similar prejudices are likely to appear. Tribal prejudices are so universal that they probably point to some biological imperative.
What is racism? Is it just one of those things that we know when we see it, or is there value in defining it more precisely? Are all White people racists? Whose definition of critical race theory and/or the so-called great replacement theory do you like?

Winner Peace: How to End Inner Conflict and Make Success Inevitable by Ryan Christensen

Ryanthehypnotist.com
When we stop beating ourselves up and start helping ourselves instead, we find the peace we’ve always wanted—but never thought possible.
Most of us are trying to succeed our way out of insecurity. But it never ends. This is the fundamental problem of all high achievers: our desire to get more, win bigger, be better, and prove once and for all we’re good enough is not enough.
Proving anything to your satisfaction is a rational process. But feeling like we’re not good enough is an emotional conclusion. And the emotional mind ignores rational proof. Feelings don’t care about your facts, so no matter how hard you push or how much you win, victory is only fleeting. Ultimately, this creates obsession, then exhaustion. It doesn’t even feel good to finish anymore. It only feels good to work. That’s not good.
Winner Peace brings your thoughts, feelings, and efforts into alignment. Author Ryan Christensen’s new model of belief formation and emotional impact harmonizes the rational and emotional minds so that you can live a life of peak fulfillment. This book is an urgent read for any high-performing individual stuck chasing the moving goalposts of success and meaning.

Learn a new model for understanding how organizations really operate and implement changes that get real results.
With so many forces of change buffeting the business world today, a scary state of flux has replaced any sense of certainty, stability, and familiarity, delivering a wake-up call to make crucial changes happen, make them happen quickly, and make them stick. Traditional approaches to change management fall into one of two categories: Organizations function like machines, where managers pull change levers to “fix” problems with an engineer’s mindset (IQ). Or People form social networks wherein individual “influencers” make change happen by developing effective interpersonal relationships (EQ). Neither of these models offer a full picture to what really happens in an organization.
In this groundbreaking new book, change expert Siobhan McHale offers a third option: organizations are complex ecosystems that require a Hive Mind or Group Intelligence (GQ) to bring about meaningful and lasting change. We can learn a lot of lessons from how bees operate:
Hard work: An individual bee spends its entire 40-day life span gathering food for the hive.
Teamwork: Inside each teeming beehive an entire community works collectively to achieve shared goals.
Role clarity: Every bee has a specific job, with the queen, drones, and worker bees faithfully playing their part.
Resilience: Bees can overcome daunting challenges, including all the parasites, pathogens, pesticides, and climate fluctuations from Maine to Miami and beyond.
See how a hive mindset solves many of the common problems all businesses struggle with today!

Pastor Albert mentioned a minister who was slain in 1847 after changing the proclamation of religious beliefs in 1839. He was educated and tortured during his tenure in his last days. The man changed indoctrination from Catholic to Protestant. This was when the frightful adventure started, in 1847, and his name was Pastor Matthew.
Hendrick Elias Leckner was a former pastor of the Catholic faith, the one who made a pact with the devil in 1817.
"If someone changed their faith, then I give intermission for the devil to extinguish ten people in a two-week period every ten years."
And he sold his soul for this admonishment, an agreement between him and the devil.
