138 : Meditation : Let This Breath Be Enough

Today's meditation explores the question: What is enough? This is one of the core questions that drove me to create this podcast. So many of us in the financial independence retire early community are trying to grow our wealth so we can reach some arbitrary number, assuming that once we get there, we will achieve freedom and everything will change. But the question is, what is enough? So often, when people reach their desired number, they think they need more or just a little more time, what’s often called "one more year" syndrome.Today we explore this question of what is enough in a meditation, where we practice allowing each breath to be enough, just as it is.I hope you enjoy this meditation. 🔥 Did you know that only 14% of reorgs are successful? 136 : The Meditation Practice That Saved My Career at Google

9 months into my dream job I get called into my boss' officeHe says my team is going away and I have a few months to find a new job or leave Google30 days before the deadline...👇I have a grand total of ZERO job offersThis is rock bottom. If was to survive, something needed to changeMy mindset needed to changeAt rock bottom, I CHOSE two NEW MINDSETS1. The world is abundant with opportunity.2. I don't worry about doing things right or wrong. I take action, which leads to learning, progress and growthEveryday, I began to PRACTICE these new mindsets with this simple affirmations practice1. State the new mindset out loud2. Envision in your mind when this was true in the PAST3. Envision in your mind how this is true in the PRESENT3. Envision in your mind how this is will be true in the FUTURE.Incredible things started to happen:- Job opportunities came from everywhere- I took tons of creative action like emailing the CEO of a startupI ended that 30 days with two job offers:- one internal at Google- one external at a startup. That's right. Thanks to envisioning, I overcame this challenging situation and Im coming up on 14 years at Google, where I've explored and built skills that led to this podcast and my FIRE Starter small group coaching program. Here's the thing though:- It's NOT magic.- It IS using the power of your predicting brain 🧠- It IS planting & watering the seeds (ie. affirmations) of the future you want to create 🌱🧠 Each of us has the power to create our own reality by cultivating our mindset intentionally🧠 What new mindset are you choosing? If you'd like to learn more about choosing your own mindset affirmations I suggest you start with my free envisioning exercise (link below). 🔥 Did you know that only 14% of reorgs are successful?
