Episode 206: Nicole Rodriguez - Long Term Athletic Development and getting out of your comfort zone

This episodes guest see's the return of Nicole Rodriguez, who was previously on episode 28. Nicole is someone who has had a massive impact in my life and coaching career. She was my head coach when I intern at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning back in 2009 and someone who I have always considered as a mentor and close friend. To me, Nicole is one of the finest coaches I have ever worked with within physical preparation profession.  Nicole is a Human Performance Coach who serves American and International teams/organizations. She is currently living and consulting in Central Europe, building developmental programs and infrastructure for professional football (soccer) clubs and community-based football clubs. In 2018, she consulted for the Dutch National Volleyball Team in preparation for the 2018 World Championships. From 2012-2017, Nicole joined EXOS, formerly Athletes’ Performance, as a Human Performance Coach and education specialist. She served as the Education Department Head for Team EXOS, a Human Performance Company in Phoenix, AZ who serves the world’s elite athletic populations. Starting in 2012, she supported International Football organizations, Rugby organizations, International Cycling and various American sports. Prior to EXOS, she worked alongside Michael Boyle in 2006-2012. There, Coach Nicole Rodriguez trained a full spectrum of clients and athletes including, NHL, MLB, NFL, Olympic Ice Hockey, amateur athletes and general populations. Coach Nicole Rodriguez is a movement specialist, who focuses on building on-field and court performance through movement efficiency, player buy-in and various speed-strength applications. Coach Nicole obtained her license in Massage Therapy from the Cortiva Institute in Boston, Massachusetts and holds various certifications and licenses. Episode 205: Shawn Myszka (aka - The Movement Miyagi) - All things skill acquisition and movement mastery

This episodes guest is with another brother from another mother of mine - Shawn Myszka - aka. The Movement Miygai!! Shawn Myszka is the Pro Performance Director of Explosive Edge Athletics in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he is entrusted with the personal consulting of countless NFL players who seek him out to take their performance to the limits of their potential. Shawn is a former National-level competitive bodybuilder who has become a sought-after clinician and leader in the field of sport-specific power development, the transfer of training to sport performance, and developing mastery in the movement of athletes at all levels of qualification. At the beginning of 2014, Shawn introduced a new brand into the industry, Movement Mastery, which has the purpose of helping training professionals of all kinds to more fully understand the process involved in attaining more optimal movement for athletes in all sporting disciplines. Episode 199: Val Nasedkin - Learning, HRV, and Windows of Trainability

This episodes guest is Val Nasedkin of Omegawave.  Val Nasedkin is the Co-Founder & Vice President of Business Development for Omegawave, a company that merges the fields of neurology, cardiology, and exercise physiology with mobile computer technology. Using EKG, HRV, and DC potential measurements, Omegawave devices offer sports-specific outputs on readiness to train and guidance for achieving specific physiological adaptations. Their technology has been used by multiple Olympic Federations; premier soccer teams such as FC Barcelona; teams from the NFL, MLS and NHL; and various other leading sports organizations. As a former elite athlete and coach with decades of experience testing elite athletes, Val learned that the type, volume, and intensity of the training load should not be the primary focus, but rather the timing of when the load is applied.  Note - for some reason my Mic was not connected up properly for this interview but the audio is still good enough, and Val is crystal clear. This episodes guest is Elliott Richardson who is the head physical preparation coach at Acadia University. Elliott is entering his third full year as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Acadia University. He is a graduate of Acadia’s Kinesiology Program before going on to play 3 years in the CFL. As an undersized athlete he attributes much of his success to the enhancement of his athletic abilities through year round training. More importantly the lessons that year round physical preparation taught him are the cornerstones of the philosophies he is looking to impart on current athletes who want to reach a higher level of athletic achievement.
