Good Bodies
Betches Media
Welcome to Good Bodies, a “wellness” entertainment podcast where all bodies are good bodies. If you’re still reeling from the toxic diet culture of the early 2000s (justice for Jessica Simpson) and constantly quoting your therapist, then Emily Lubin and Lauren Hope Krass are here to help you laugh (so you don’t cry). Diets can’t sit with us anymore but there’s a place at the table for body neutrality, body positivity, intuitive eating, and hot takes about which non-dairy creamer pairs best with our sharp cheddar cheese omelettes. Our Bodies Are Not Trends
It’s getting hot in here—no literally, the recording studio gets so warm Remy brought in two ice packs for today’s episode. Remy’s feeling good about the ice packs, but she and Emily are not feeling good about the current resurgence of the “heroin chic” conversation. They break down a recent headline about the problematic concept, which leads into a convo about the connection between social media trends and body image. Moral of the story, stop telling us our bodies are trends (because they simply aren’t). Remy adjusts her ice packs while Emily transitions into reading today’s listener Dear DST, all about losing your appetite from a stomach bug, and admittedly, not being mad about it. Remy and Emily hardcore relate to this feeling, and Emily wraps up by sharing some great advice on how to overcome the unhealthy mindset. Have a question and want some advice? What Does Being “In Shape” Even Mean? Ft. Fitness Trainers Justin & Taylor Norris
Today is Remy and Emily’s first guest episode (!!) and they're sitting down with Justin and Taylor Norris, the impressive husband and wife fitness trainers-meet-creators of the Low Impact Training Method (LIT...literally). But first, Remy and Emily catch up. Remy shares the *painful* reason why she couldn’t workout this week and they debate the name of Emily’s neighborhood cat (Necklace, Nicolas, or Neck-less?). Remy reads a listener DM about whether or not it's normal to throw up after a workout (spoiler alert: it’s not), and Justin and Taylor help them break it all down. They then get into their backstory—they met at the gym, naturally—as well as the old school mentality of gendered workouts, the benefits of low impact training, and answer your most-asked q's. What does being “in shape” even mean? What’s the best way to make a workout plan? And most importantly, what’s the best donut?Check out our latest promo codes here: https://betches.com/promos Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

How Can I Set Boundaries Around Food & Exercise?
What’s the best kind of bread? Is mac and cheese called “mac” because it’s short for macaroni, or because “mac” is an acronym for macaroni and cheese? Remy and Emily start off today’s episode with these great debates (and yes, they’re based off of memes). The conclusion? Talking about it just made them hungry, so they transition into the main course of today—a listener Dear DST. To summarize: the listener currently has an intuitive relationship with exercise and food (go girl), but her roommates live a very different lifestyle. The Dear DST also breaks down a toxic relationship with her ex, and how she doesn’t want to feel stuck like that again. Remy relates with her own personal experiences, and she and Emily unpack what they would do in this situation to set boundaries. If you, too, have a question and want some advice, email us a Dear DST at dst@betches.com.Check out our latest promo codes here: https://betches.com/promos Learn more about your ad choices. Fitness Relationship Status: It’s Complicated
Remy and Emily jump (or actually sit), right into the hot topic of today's episode—fitness—and Remy starts off by unpacking her ongoing journey. She gets into her complicated experiences with ballet growing up (it literally sounds like Dance Moms), before explaining the unexpected story of how she got a personal trainer. Remy brings up Disney’s first plus-size ballerina heroine, and they discuss the nuances of this new character. Emily then shares her complex experiences with fitness, and how she has come to have a healthy relationship with exercise (we love to hear it). This leads into a discussion about a study Emily found, all about the extent to which exercise can help mental health. We hate to break it to you, but exercise is in fact good for your mental wellbeing. Have thoughts about this study or fitness in general? ICYMI, they break down the scene that set the internet ablaze, before unpacking all of the q’s: Did T-Swift really need to use the word “fat?” Were listeners right to call Taylor out? Through Thicc And Thin
Sami and Aleen are back for a DST Thursday episode! If you haven’t already, go listen to Sunday’s episode where they share a *big announcement*. To kick this one off, Aleen and Sami share their DST Wins of the week. Sami’s is about her big move to the ’burbs (this episode was recorded in advance, right before Sami’s move), and Aleen’s is all about this new post-hosting chapter in her life. Next up they read a listener DST win about clapping back at the rude comments made by her family, after she gave birth to twins (which, let’s be honest, is a win itself). They then read a Dear DST from an OG DSTer and podcast guest. The DSTer asks for Sami and Aleen’s advice on how to feel good when you see a picture of yourself that you don’t love, especially when it comes to wedding pics. To wrap up, Sami and Aleen remind us that they’ll continue to give DSTers advice and will be back 2x a month for Back for Seconds – so don’t forget to subscribe. As always, through thicc and thin. The One Where Aleen Says Goodbye
This week, Aleen is joined by the one and only Sami Sage — and they have big news about the future of DST. They start off the episode reminiscing about the history of the podcast and how far they’ve come since it started back in 2018. And while the news is definitely bittersweet, it gave them the opportunity to reflect and talk about the interviews they’re most proud of, the best memories they made, and their takes on how the *wellness industry* has changed. To wrap up, they talk about how proud they are of how far they’ve come since those early days. They then give us the scoop on what DSTers can look forward to next, including another episode on Thursday where they’ll be back to give advice. Through thicc and thin!
