#346 Troy Urdahl, Athletic Director and Coach: Chasing Influence, Being Intentional, and Knowing Your Coaching WHY

Dr. Troy Urdahl has spent his professional career at St. Anthony Village High School (SAVHS), a Twin Cities, Minn. public school.  For the past 16 years Urdahl has been the SAVHS Huskies head baseball coach.  In addition to his head coaching responsibilities, Urdahl has been a social studies teacher, middle school volleyball coach, and is the athletics and activities director for the St. Anthony – New Brighton School District.  Troy later added a Master’s degree in athletic administration from the University of St. Thomas and his Ed.D. from Bethel University where he researched high school athletes’ best and worst experiences in interscholastic sports.  During his coaching tenure, Urdahl has been named the Section Coach of the Year six times and the State Class AA Coach of the Year twice.  In this time, the Huskies have been section champions five times and won two Class AA state titles.  Urdahl has also been a volunteer VFW baseball coach for ten years, earning the 2006 state championship.  In 2008, Urdahl was named to the Litchfield Baseball Association’s Hall of Fame. His new book is called Chasing Influence, and it is a fictional account of a legendary baseball coach and his influence on his community, former players and their families. #344 Major General Scott Clancy, Former Director of Operations for NORAD, on Trust, Dealing with Difficult Teammates, and the Difference Between Leading and Coaching Your Teams

Major General Scott Clancy served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a tactical helicopter pilot. He taught tactics at the Army Staff college and planned expeditionary operations at all levels of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Before retiring after a 37-year career, he served as the Deputy Commander of the Alaskan NORAD Region and finally as the Director of Operations for all NORAD in Colorado Springs. His new book about the lessons learned in his four decade career is called Developing Coaching Leaders: The Fundamentals and Techniques that Make Leaders Extraordinary. #342 Kelly Amonte-Hiller, 8x NCAA Champion Coach of Northwestern Women's Lacrosse: "I Want to Give Back to a Sport That Gave Me Everything"

Kelly Amonte-Hiller is one of the most decorated athletes and coaches we have had on this podcast. As an athlete she was a 2x NCAA Champion and 2x NCAA player of the year at University of Maryland, as well as an all-world selection in 2005. As a coach she has won 8 NCAA championships, been named IWLCA National Coach of the Year five times, and is an inductee into the US Lacrosse and IWLCA Hall of Fame. With over 350 wins, and the highest win total and winning percentage of any coach in the NCAA tournament, she is a lacrosse coaching legend. #341 Christina Murillo, Former NWSL and Mexican National Team Player, On Relative Age, Coaching Boys vs Girls, and Promoting Player Safety and Wellness in Youth Sports

Christina Murillo (@xtinamurillo10) is a former Mexican international soccer player. She earned 29 caps with Mexico and took her senior year off from the University of Michigan to play in the 2015 Women's World Cup. She later played in the UEFA Champions League and the NWSL for the Chicago Red Stars before retiring in 2019. She is currently the U11-14 Director of Coaching for both boys and girls for the Chicago Fire of MLS. #339 Becky Burleigh, 3x National Champion Soccer Coach, on Coaching Human Beings, Not Human Doings, What Drives Winning, and The Best Question to Ask in a Player Meeting

Becky Burleigh began her college soccer coaching career at the ripe old age of 21, coaching Berry College to two NAIA National Championships before moving onto the University of Florida. In her nearly three decades at Florida, she won the 1998 NCAA Championship, a combined 26 SEC regular season and tournament championships, and over 500 games. Upon retiring, she was named interim coach of the NWSL's Orlando Pride during a time of great turmoil, and currently she partners with Brett Ledbetter on coaching education through their business What Drives Winning (www.WhatDrivesWinning.com). #337 Jenny Levy, 3x NCAA Champion UNC Women's Lacrosse Coach, on Recruiting and Developing Leaders in Your Program

Jenny Levy has led UNC Women's lacrosse to 3 NCAA Championships, 13 NCAA Final Fours and over 400 wins. She has been named NCAA Coach of the year on three occasions, and ACC Coach of the year seven times.  She was also the Head Coach for the US Women's National Team from 2017-2022.
