On this episode of the CarrotCast, I'm going to talk about attracting a mentor and how you can kill your chances of working with them in a matter of moments. It doesn’t matter if you're a new entrepreneur. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced entrepreneur. You should always be mentoring someone as well as be a mentee. That means you need the exchange of knowledge and the exchange of value and the exchange of real conversation on a consistent basis. There is a right way and wrong way to go about getting a great mentor. Your mindset from the start has to be on what you can do for them, not what they can do for you. Ask more questions if you’re trying to find a mentor. What do they care about? What are their passions? Then, how can you provide value to what they care about? Be curious about their story. Provide value and excitement to the person that you’re trying to gain knowledge from. Please, please, please don’t waste time. Give value to them and show true interest in them. Stop selling you and your ideas. Luke Harris gets the award to be the only Carrot customer to actually signup at Carrot HQ in Roseburg Oregon. On this episode of the CarrotCast, Luke explains why he was a little reluctant to start up with Carrot. His previous website was generating 1-2 leads per week. Now with his Carrot site, he is generating 5-6 leads per day. He’s now flipped over 50 land deals. Luke dives in to discuss why he left his previous website and the importance of taking advantage of performance and strategy to acquire consistent leads. Tim Oppelt has endured a lot. He’s worked one of the “worst” jobs possible, been laid off, and made some investing errors. Break the machine to regain. What does that mean? We’re all guilty of getting caught in the day-to-day tasks. Becoming complacent and stagnant. How do you get out of that routine? How do you regain focus? By pulling away and causing chaos. Pull away and cause chaos so you can work on that one thing that you know is going to make the biggest difference in that moment. If you purposely create chaos, you can gain the biggest leverage in your life. Increase what you think you’re capable of doing. Focus more on the things that matter.
