Hank and I continue our Church Fathers series with Paul of Samosata. Paul is one of the most fascinating and controversial figures from before the Council of Nicaea. He was the Bishop of Antioch but was excommunicated by a Synod of other Bishops and was even deposed by Roman troops. He is most famous for his Christology which viewed Jesus as a human who began to exist in Mary and was elevated to divinity through his obedience to God. Hank and I tell his fascinating story.

Dr. James McGrath is a Professor of Religion at Bulter University. He is a widely respected expert on Early Christian History, Christology, and the New Testament. This is another episode in our Church Fathers series. We look at Hippolytus and Novatian. These are two important figures from the early and mid 3rd century. We look at how the early church operated, how they view baptism, how they viewed eschatology, and of course Christology.

Fr. John Behr is the Regius Professor of Humanity at the University of Aberdeen. He has a long and prestigious career in early Christian theology and is one of the leading scholars on the Patristics.
