Ep. 95: The Science of Tapering: bridging theory to practice w/Hayden Pritchard
This show was a long time coming. Hayden's dissertation was focused on understanding the role and strategies for tapering to enhance maximal strength performance.Hayden is a former academic, scientist, and weightlifter, so he knows his way around a university and a weight room. In this episode, we discuss tapering from both an academic (what the research indicates) and anecdotal perspective. We suggest that these two are not mutually exclusive and when used together create strategies to enhance performance when it matters most, on game day.Article on tapering for maximal strength:https://renaissanceperiodization.com/expert-advice/finishing-strong-tapering-for-strength-performanceHayden's social:https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Hayden_Pritchardhttps://www.instagram.com/hjpmethod/https://www.instagram.com/pnweightlifting/My social:https://www.instagram.com/josh_philwl/

Knowing this, Seb was able to write a fantastic book detailing the life and methods of The People's Coach. In this episode of the podcast, we uncover some of the hidden gems of the book, how concepts can be applied in practice, and much more! Ep. 86: Westside for Weightlifting and Evolution of the Coaching Process w/Kevin Cann
This was an incredible episode of the podcast, spurred on by Kevin's Patreon content (https://www.patreon.com/PrecisionPowerlifting). After watching all of his videos on his coaching philosophy, how to use accommodating resistance, and the role of max effort lifts in a training program, we mustered up a great conversation on why he does what he does and how his coaching process/methods have changed over the years. We plan on doing a series of these podcasts to more thoroughly cover why he does what he does and why it's changed.
