This is Part 2 of our conversation with Beth Granger, who was born into Grenville Christian College and spent over 20 years trapped within its cult-like control. In this episode, Beth shares her long road to recovery after leaving Grenville, detailing the emotional toll of the 16-year legal battle that ultimately brought justice to survivors. The landmark ruling validated decades of abuse at Grenville, offering a measure of closure for Beth and others affected. You can read the full 75-page ruling here. Beth also opens up about her struggles with PTSD and bulimia, the complexities of medication withdrawal, and the importance of finding the right therapeutic support. Through writing her memoir, Born and Razed: Surviving the Cult Was Only Half the Battle, and exploring creative outlets like painting, Beth discovered ways to reclaim her life and identity. Beth Granger, a writer and survivor of the Grenville Christian College cult, shares her chilling experiences growing up in a seemingly elite Christian boarding school. She reveals the harsh realities of emotional manipulation, public shaming, and the oppressive control wielded by 'The Mothers.' Granger discusses her tumultuous fight for justice, including the legal battles that led to the school's closure after decades of hidden abuse. Her memoir, 'Born and Razed,' highlights her journey of survival and resilience beyond the trauma.

Dr. Christine Cocchiola, a clinical social worker and author of "Framed: Women in the Family Court Underworld," returns to discuss her expertise on coercive control. She explores how abusers manipulate family dynamics, likening their tactics to cult-like behavior. Dr. C delves into the failings of the family court system, particularly how it often overlooks abuse. She shares harrowing stories that underscore the need for systemic reform and highlights the psychological impact on children caught in these toxic environments.

Brandon Guffey, a South Carolina Representative, passionately advocates against sextortion after losing his son to online predators. He highlights the alarming rise in such scams targeting young boys, emphasizing the emotional toll on families. Guffey discusses Gavin's Law, aimed at making sextortion a felony, and his ongoing fight for accountability from tech companies. His nonprofit, Less Than Three, works to educate and protect youth, underlining the urgent need for awareness and preventative measures against digital exploitation.

This week we  continue to explore corruption within the Hare Krishna movement, this time through the eyes of former member Nori Muster. From 1978 to 1988, Nori worked in the movement’s PR and media department, where she was tasked with spinning headlines and managing ISKCON's public image. However, what began as a spiritual refuge soon revealed a dark underbelly of corruption, cover-ups, and even murder. Nori recounts her time in ISKCON, her growing disillusionment, and the pivotal moments that led her to become a whistleblower. Her story sheds light on the systemic issues within the movement and offers insights into the ongoing challenges of healing from cult involvement.
