ENERGY UPDATE DECEMBER 2021: Astrological forecast and what to expect in 2022
Hello and welcome to a very special bonus episode with a teacher, guider and my astrologist for over 10 years, Ruth Nahmias. She is one of the brightest stars that I know and gives the most sound advice. If you’re not into astrology, please don’t immediately assume that this episode is not worth listening to. I personally use astrology as a self-reflecting tool because it either resonates or it doesn’t and I think that the stars can often provide wisdom. Hopefully this episode will give you things to think about, point you in the right direction and just raise your awareness of what we can expect to unfold in 2022. As I’m sure you might agree this past year has been a hard one. We have had to navigate a lot of changes, there’s been a lot of fear and there has been constant uncertainty. So I think we’re all looking forward to a more positive 2022! Well done everyone for getting through this past year and I look forward to connecting with more of you in 2022! :) Hosted on Acast. 100: A special wisdom round up to mark 100 episodes of the Not Perfect Podcast!
Welcome to an extremely special episode to mark 100 episodes of the Not Perfect Podcast!! I began this podcast in 2019 and it has definitely been one of the best things I've ever done. I just want to take a moment to say a BIG thank you to all my loyal listeners and to all my wonderful guests. It has been complete therapy for me as I hope it's been for you. It has opened up conversations I wouldn't have had, introduced me to books that I may not have read and in all honesty it's just been heaven to speak to some of you and connect on so many different levels. It truly makes my day when I receive messages or reviews about the podcast! To mark the 100th episode, we thought we would combine some of our most listened to episodes over the past couple of years and share some of the fantastic answers to the first few questions which I ask every guest at the start of the podcast. Hearing all of their answers together just proves how unbelievably wonderful all my guests have been, they all have so much wisdom to share and I'm so happy that I've been able to share these conversations with you. Here's to many more brilliant guests and I can't wait for you all to see what we have in store for the next series!Wishing you all a VERY happy Christmas!Poppy x Hosted on Acast. 99: Stop apologising for being sad with Helen Russell
I am absolutely thrilled to have someone I greatly look up to on the show today. Today’s guest is Helen Russell, a British journalist, happiness researcher and international bestselling author of The Year of Living Danishly, Leap Year, Gone Viking and The Atlas of Happiness. Helen was formerly the editor of Marie Claire online and has been a long term writer for The Telegraph, Stylist, Metro, The Independent and many others. Today we are going to be speaking about her new book and I implore every single person to read this. It’s called How to be Sad. I saw this title a few months ago and I thought this couldn’t be a more relevant book for my show. Embracing our full emotional spectrum is not easy but thankfully Helen is here to share her wisdom about getting happier by being sad. With so much going on in the world right now, it’s important we don’t suppress our emotions. We are all allowed emotions and I hope this conversation helps you learn how to embrace them. How to be Sad is out in paperback in January 2022 and you can pre-order it here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Sad-Everything-learned-getting/dp/0008384592/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= Find Helen: Instagram: @mshelenrussellWebsite: https://www.helenrussell.co.uk/Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/how-to-be-sad-with-helen-russell/id1550928939 Books: https://www.helenrussell.co.uk/books/---The code for the free product is NOTPERFECTFREE. 98: The morning practice that will change your life with Julia Cameron
Today I am interviewing a total mastermind who has unlocked the creativity of millions. The New York Times called her the Queen of Change. She is 73 years old, an author of 40 books, an artist, scriptwriter, poet, playwright, novelist, composer, journalist, teacher, speaker and so much more. I am of course speaking about the wonderful Julia Cameron. You may have heard about the concept of morning pages or perhaps you’ve heard of the iconic book, The Artists Way. This is a manifestation of Julia’s mind. For over 40 years, she’s been changing people’s lives by helping them to discover the natural born creativity, manage that mean inner critic and become unblocked. The Artists Way has helped millions of people and I continue to turn to it whenever I’m in need of some inspiration. Since then her book The Listening Path has come out and she has a new book out in January 2022 called Seeking Wisdom which should be immediately added to your Christmas wish list. I hope you all enjoy listening to Julia and all her wonderful wisdom! 97: The extraordinary benefits of doing nothing with Dr Frank Kinslow
Today’s guest is a fascinating one. I first found him through his book, The Secret of Instant Healing and then began to watch video after video of this man heal people all around the world. Dr Frank Kinslow has been researching and teaching healing techniques for more than 35 years. His work draws from his clinical experience as a chiropractic physician and a huge passion for relativity and quantum physics. In 2007 the Quantum Entrainment process of instant healing was born out of a personal crisis. Dr Kinslow began to share his method and within a few years, tens of thousands of people around the world began healing themselves through his work. Dr Frank went on to publish bestselling books, including Beyond Happiness, How to Be Happy Without Even Trying, The Secret of Instant Healing and the list goes on. 96: The afterlife and why we will see loved ones again with Mariel Forde Clarke
On today’s podcast we will be speaking about life after death with the most wonderful author, healer, counsellor and spiritual midwife, Mariel Forde Clarke. Mariel has dedicated much of her life to helping people rethink the end of life and supporting their transition from the physical to the non-physical. Mariel’s interest in the afterlife stemmed from her own near death experience when she was pronounced ‘dead’ on the operating table and that was when her perspective on life totally changed. In her book, Whereafter: Where do our loved ones go after they die?, Mariel weaves the science and the spiritual to create a beautiful, heavily researched book that soothes the soul by sharing a possibility of what happens after we depart from reality as we know it. Mariel was a self confessed sceptic before her own experience but now she is here to guide us and help thousands of people realise that when physical life ends, the love that was shared was eternal, and that love never dies.Find Mariel:Website: http://marielfordeclarke.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mariel_forde_clarke/?hl=en---The code for the free product is NOTPERFECTFREE. 95: Love is not a shortcut to happiness with Monica Berg
On today’s podcast I speak to the global, spiritual teacher Monica Berg who is the author of some of my favourite books including Fear is not an option and the book we are going to be speaking about today, Rethink Love. Throughout Monica’s work she shows individuals how to create a life in which they are living and loving as the most powerful and fulfilled person they’ve always wanted to be. Her books combine her many years of Kabbalistic study with her own personal life experiences. She battled and overcame a debilitating eating disorder at a young age and as a mother of four children, one of whom has special needs, she has become an outspoken advocate for him and others struggling to find their voice. Monica and her husband co-host The Spiritually Hungry podcast which is truly brilliant. She also serves as Chief Communications Officer of The Kabbalah Centre International. Monica’s book on love is a highlighter at the ready book. Love is something which is confusing me lately as I’m only just beginning to understand the full extent of what that word really means. It’s far from what Disney told me many years ago. It’s a true honour to have such a profound spiritual thought leader on the show today. 94: How to break free from your limiting beliefs and unlock your full potential with Ian Washington-Smith
Today I have Ian Washington-Smith on the podcast and wow are you guys in for an extra special episode! I recently spent a weekend with Ian who taught me some of the most mind-blowing lessons on mental health, beliefs and behaviour change and I can’t wait for you guys to get a taste of what I’ve been learning. Ian is one of the most fascinating people I’ve ever met, he’s a former police manager who ran operations and intelligence management, corruption, prevention and covert investigation. He then went on to found organisations such as the Thames Valley Black Police Association Cognitive Coaching and most recently Mindsmith Thinking. Ian supports individuals and organisations to change by adapting their thinking towards issues such as individual potential, people productivity, diversity and leadership. Through his work he is able to unlock inner gifts within people. Ian’s approach is profound, it’s different and it takes inspiration from so much of the history of psychology. It is some of the greatest teachings and I hope every single person can learn from someone like Ian.Find Ian:Website: https://www.mindsmiththinking.com/Instagram: @mindsmiththinkingFind out what colour you are by taking the personality test here: https://my-personality-test.com/true-colours ---The code for the free product is NOTPERFECTFREE. 93: The ancient medicine used to calm anxiety and help you sleep with Dr Rosemary Mazanet
Today’s interview is with a very special guest, Dr Rosemary Mazanet who is one of the world’s leading medical advisors and researchers. Among the many boards she is on, Dr Rosemary is a Charter Trustee at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and is the Co-Chair of the Leonard Davis Institute Executive Advisory Board at Wharton. In today’s episode, we are going to really dig deep behind the truth and the history of CBD. CBD burst onto the wellness scene in about 2018 in a massive way and it brought a lot of confusion with it. Does CBD work? What should or shouldn’t it be used for? Dr Rosemary is the Chief Science Officer at Columbia Care and one of the most exciting global experts on the subject. It is a huge honour to welcome Dr Rosemary on the podcast to really look into the why’s, the what’s and the research behind CBD as we know it.
