This Podcast is created and curated by Deepak Jayaraman (an Executive Coach and a Leadership Advisor). He lives in Mumbai and works with successful Senior Executives by helping them play to their unique potential but with a sharp focus on transitions (business or career). Just like businesses need to think about "where to play" and "how to win", leaders need to be coherent about "where to go" and "how to grow" in their journeys. Deepak works with them during pivotal moments to help them with these two questions. To know more click here (https://playtopotential.com/aboutdeepak) .
The conversations in this podcast cover topics around Leadership, Transitions and Careers. Given that time is scarce and that you might be interested in only some of the segments of the podcast, the conversations have been broken down into nuggets to facilitate easier consumption. This is also a learning journey that the Podcast host Deepak Jayaraman is going through. At the end of each nugget he shares his key takeaway(s) in the context of his experiences. For accessing nuggets across speakers by a specific theme of interest, you might want to visit the Curated Playlists (https://playtopotential.com/alltags) section. If you derive value from the podcast, please consider paying it forward (https://playtopotential.com/payitforward) to Antarang Foundation.
Deepak is an alumnus of IIT Madras, IIM Ahmedabad and London Business School. Prior to Starting Transition Insight, he has been a Business Consultant at KPMG Consulting in UK/India, Strategy Consultant with McKinsey & Co. in the US and a Leadership Consultant (Executive Search, Board placements, Leadership Development) at EgonZehnder. He is a certified CEO Coach.

680: EP4: Connecting the Dots - Identity
This episode of Connecting the Dots deals with IDENTITY. When we look at issues around transitions, reinventing ourselves and navigating the pulls and pressures of mid-life, the key often is in reflecting on our identity. This episode, we go deep into how we think about Identity and how sometimes, we end up caging ourselves and end up being a prisoner of our own lack of imagination around our identity.

678: EP2: Connecting the Dots - External Self-awareness
Welcome to the second episode of CONNECTING THE DOTS. We pick a theme for every episode and try and look at that topic from multiple lenses. Where appropriate, I also try and bring in my experiences as a Coach and a Sounding Board and from my journey as well. In this second episode, we discuss External Self-Awareness. How do we tune into the feedback that we get from the outside world and become a better version of ourselves? The question worth asking in this context is - How 360 is our 360?

677: EP1: Connecting the Dots - Internal Self-awareness
Welcome to the first episode of CONNECTING THE DOTS. We pick a theme for every episode and try and look at that topic from multiple lenses. Where appropriate, I also try and bring in my experiences as a Coach and a Sounding Board and from my journey as well.
In this first episode, we discuss INTERNAL SELF-AWARENESS. Barry Schwartz (Author of Paradox of Choice) states that in a world of abundance, two things happen - 1) Decision-making becomes complex 2) You experience FOMO. Self-Awareness, I believe, is the steering wheel that can help us navigate through life where we experience close to infinite supply, whether it is career choice possibilities, educational combinations, entertainment, credit cards or even Podcasts!

102.00 David Noble & Carol Kauffman on Real-time Leadership
GUEST
Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. This quote is attributed to Viktor Emil Frankl, an Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor, devoted his life to studying, understanding and promoting “meaning.” Carol Kaufman and David Noble give us practical tools that we can use to make the ‘space’ count.
Carol and David have authored Real-Time Leadership - Find Your Winning Moves When the Stakes Are High. In the podcast conversation they expand on the 4 step MOVE framework which lays out the various ways in which leaders can be deliberate in the way they go about playing the role of a leader.

675: 101.00 - Stephen M.R. Covey on Trust and Inspire
GUEST
Stephen M. R. Covey is an American writer and public speaker and the author of the books: The SPEED of Trust, Smart Trust, and Trust & Inspire: How Truly Great Leaders Unleash the Greatness in Others. He is the co-founder and CEO of a company called CoveyLink Worldwide and former President and CEO of Covey Leadership Center. He happens to be the son of Stephen Covey, the author of the pathbreaking book - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
In our conversation, we spoke about how Stephen broke away from his father’s shadows and created an identity for himself over time as a thought leader by building credibility on the business front. We spoke at length about his recent book - Trust and Inspire. I loved his distinction around being Trust and Inspire in Paradigm but Command and Control in the moment. He also speaks about “Enlightened Command and Control” which gives people a false sense of having evolved their leadership style. Highly relevant piece of work in this world of complexity and possibility.

NUGGET CONTEXT
Stephen speaks about how he initially focused on the business side of things while his father was the ‘larger than life’ thought leader. He speaks about how, over time, his insights around the high cost of low trust have emerged and how he has found his voice a thought leader over time.

674: 100.00 Christopher Clarey on Roger Federer's journey
GUEST
Roger Federer is somebody who needs no introduction. While, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have overtaken him in terms of the overall Grand Slams won, when there is a discussion about the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), all fingers very often still point to Roger. One could attribute that to his fluidity, his charm on and off court, his longevity, his stable family life, and much more.
I had a unique opportunity to engage with Christopher Clarey, a veteran New York Times Correspondent who has been covering Sports at an Elite level for more than 30 years. From Bjorn Borg to Serena Williams. He has recently published the book - The Master: the Brilliant Career of Roger Federer. He gives us a behind the scenes account of Roger’s journey starting from his childhood.
We speak about how Roger handled his mental chatter, how he made choices that made him play a long innings, how he handled stress, the role of his parents in shaping his character, how his skills as a businessman are probably better than his skills on the court. We hope you enjoy the 100th episode.
