"Nanny" had its world premiere almost a year ago at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize, becoming the first horror movie to win the award. The film made its way through several other festivals before coming to theaters last month and is now available to stream on Prime Video. The film's lead actress, Anna Diop, was kind enough to spend some time talking about her performance in the movie as an undocumented Senegalese immigrant who becomes a nanny in New York City but with a dark past that continues to haunt her. "Empire Of Light" may be the most personal story Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes has ever made and receiving award nominations for its leading star Olivia Colman and its cinematography by Roger Deakins. "All Quiet On The Western Front" had its world premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, where it received praise for its adaptation of the famous anti-war novel, the technical craft of its battle sequences, and depicting the horrors of war in a frighteningly realistic and brutal manner. Director Edward Berger's film has been nominated for the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards for Best International Feature Film and is Germany's submission for the same category at this year's Academy Awards. We were fortunate to talk with leading actor Felix Krammerer, his co-star and executive producer Daniel Brühl, producer Malte Grunert, and composer Volker Bertelmann. "The Territory" had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where critics hailed it for its sound design, cinematography, and enveloping look at the Uru-eu-wau-wau people in Brazil. With Darren Aronofsky as one of the producers, the film was eventually picked up by National Geographic and has been making the rounds at various other festivals, where it has won other prizes.
