DTS - With William Massena "The Battle"

Welcome to The Defining Time Show on Fifth Wrist Radio. This week Anthony (@defining_time) is joined by fellow Fifth Wrist podcast host Roman(@timesromanau) and watch industry titan and pioneer William Massena of Massena Lab.  We start the conversation with getting some updates on a few upcoming collaborations William has in store and we ask a few questions about the challenges of collaborations and what were the turning points in his career so far. Its safe to say there is some seriously exciting launches in the coming months and we can't wait. Then we go to BATTLE! The task was set for each person to come prepared to talk out the 5 "Greatest Watches of all Time" (in our opinion) and battle it out. While there was certainly some no brainer choices it was also great to see some unique independent watches make the lists. It was a lot of fun and a privilege to hear William's picks. I don't want to give it all away so you will just have to listen.  Anthony and Roman would like to personally thank William for coming onto the show and sharing his 5 Greatest Watches of all Time.  Be sure to follow William @therealmassena and @massenalab on IG and sign up for their newsletter to stay up to date and not miss out on any of the launches coming this year.  Grab a whiskey if that's your thing, put on a tuxedo, sit in your most comfortable chair and journey with us to a conversation with absolute watch nuts talking watches! ***Full disclosure, we did experience some internet speed issues from William's hotel room but it was all too good to cut out so stick with it, it's worth it*** Recommendations from this episode: William: @burymewithmywatches Roman: @papillonwatchman Anthony: @koopology Music by @salil808    Follow us on Instagram: @FifthWrist Thank you for all the positive reviews & comments on our episodes. We read and appreciate each one! To join our crew group chat then please email us at contact@fifthwrist.com and if you have time please leave us a review wherever you listen to our podcast. We hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed making it! Cheers from Down Under from Roman and Anthony!

DTS - Does Rolex make these 3 watch collections? With Asher, Dustin, Danny & Brett!

Welcome to another episode of The Defining Time Show on Fifth Wrist Radio. This week Anthony (@defining_time) is joined by some absolute legends of the community and friends of the show Danny (@dannygoldsmith23), Asher (@horologicallyinclined), Dustin (@normal.sinus.rhythm) and Brett (@tick_tock3940) for a game of "Who has the best three watch collection if we all had 30k USD to spend and you needed 1 Indy, 1 Mainstream and 1 Micro brand"!!! We start the conversation with some thoughts and opinions from Watches & Wonders now that a few weeks have past and the dust has settled. I knew we would get some strong statements from these lads and they did not disappoint. While the discussion about new releases could have gone on for hours, we soon got into what we all came to do. 3 watches each, 30k USD budget, 1 Indy, 1 Mainstream and 1 Micro. Snake style fantasy draft was the format but each person could choose their category as they went. It's safe to say that in the end, it probably wouldn't matter which collection you agree with. They were all very well thought out and made for a great battle with the real winners were the watches!  Special mentions to our horological friends Habring2 (and Anthony didn't bring them up for once), Moser, Konstantin Chaykin & Ochs Und Junior just to mention a few. There is an extra few honourable mentions at the end which could have also made the collections.  During the discussion we also learnt about Danny's new venture, Goldsmith and Complications. We wish Danny all success with the new business and if you haven't listened to his episode on Fifth Wrist Radio from a few weeks ago, please go back and listen!  Anthony like to personally thank the four gents for coming onto the show, researching and putting the time into their collections. These battles are not easy and everyone did a great job.  Grab a whiskey if that's your thing, put on a tuxedo, sit in your most comfortable chair and journey with us to a conversation with absolute watch nuts talking watches!  Recommendations from this episode: Brett: @o.husek Asher: @membersonlysopranos Dustin: @goldsmithandcomplications Danny: @peterwatchcollector Anthony: @onlybuyingtime Music by @salil808    Follow us on Instagram: @FifthWrist Thank you for all the positive reviews & comments on our episodes. Loose Screws - Wife Time with Renee

Welcome to the Loose Screws podcast on Fifth Wrist radio. I'm your host Bob(@brownsvillewatchguy) and on this episode my guest is my lovely wife Renee. It all started one night after a long day and some Vodka Tamarind that we decided to go downstairs and record an impromptu episode. Renee shares her start in watches, speaks her mind on Tag, Cartier, brand ambassadors, and Formula 1. It was definitely an interesting episode and hearing an “outsiders” perspective regarding this crazy watch hobby really shed a light on what “normal” folks think. All comments made are my guests and my own and does not reflect the thoughts/views of all Fifth Wrist contributors or the community. We hope you enjoy this episode just as much as we did. DTS - Armand from Sartory Billard

Welcome to another episode of The Defining Time Show on FifthWrist Radio. This week Anthony (@defining_time) is joined by the one and only "Chicken Man" himself Benoit (@petitesecondes). It's always nice to share the mic with a great contributor to our hobby. Now for the watch stuff, Armand is someone I have been following on IG for a few years now, always eager to see what he will come out with next. Armand is the man behind the Independent brand making real waves, Sartory Billard (@sartorybillard). We go deep into his journey to starting the brand with a friend after spending many years as a designer. Benoit, being a patriotic Frenchman, wanted to discuss the current state of the French watch industry and asked the difficult questions about what Armand's opinion of what it's missing and his ideas to move it forward and more connected. Sartory Billard is a brand that offers bespoke options to their customers, so we learnt about Armand's definition of bespoke and what it means for his customers. What we loved about our chat was the openness, honesty and transparency Armand gave us, and it was no surprise to me that he asks his customers for brutally honest feedback on how his creations can be improved. We were privileged to see the SB5 during the video call prior to its launch which was a great honour for us and you can hear our reactions and then head over to @sartorybillard to see it for yourself, it is truly something very special and we commend Armand for his latest piece.  Grab a whiskey if that's your thing, put on a tuxedo, sit in your most comfortable chair and journey with us to a conversation with a brilliant and forward-thinking Independent Watchmaker.    Recommendations from this episode:   Armand: @philippe_narbel_watchmaking Benoit: @semperadhuc Anthony: @th3m3tim3 Follow Armand on Instagram @SartoryBillard Music by @salil808    Follow us on Instagram: @FifthWrist    Thank you for all the positive reviews & comments on our episodes. The European Gang Talks Watches

Five enthusiasts from four countries, three(and a half) languages, two currencies and one passion. A couple of eager european guys from the global and glorious fifthwrist-family meet to talk watches. The subject from which they deviate all the time is: can non-european watches be any good? If you listen to what Phil, Benoît, Wolfgang, Claus and their guest from Cologne, Jan (@pippy, @petitsecondes, @w_a_t_c_h_s_t_y_l_e, @tapir_ffm and @between_the_lugs) have to say, you will – amongst others – learn: > that you can successfully run a great and vivid podcast about vintage watches without knowing much about them > why the parallax error is important > which new useless complication will be ruling the watch market anytime soon > the difference between Brian and Boris Johnson and … > serious watch stuff, too (And they eventually manage to earn an «explicit»-labelling for that podcast.)
