Strength Training Post ACL Injury with Strength Coach Nick Barker
In this episode we have Strength and Conditioning Coach, Nick Barker with us discussing Strength Training Post ACL Injury.
After an ACL tear, people go to PT and at about 80% recovery they get let go and they are on their own to get back to training. Nick and Brett talked about gradually increasing activity levels and getting someone back to doing what they love post ACL tear. They discussed what training should look like, what people are missing in their training, things we typically see as Physical Therapists and strength coaches, and what you should be looking for & focused on once you're about 9 months out from an ACL tear.
We know the stats on ACL tears aren't great, one in four typically end up re-tearing them. So there is a major piece missing in the whole rehab to performance spectrum of getting these ACL tears better! This episode is for people who have a torn ACL or have torn it in the past, and coaches and trainers who help their clients post ACL recovery and rehab.
