A career hospice nurse, Julie has spent her life taking care of people in their final stages of life. Her approach to life and death is something you have to hear. She talks about her work, how patients feel at the end of life, how families can support them, what hospice care entails, and she gives specific details on how you can help your loved ones when you die. From things as simple as jotting down passwords, to more intricate financial details, Nurse Julie shares all the tips you need, but what no one wants to talk about. I'm here to confess something this week on TTFIO. I am a hypochondriac. As long as I can remember, I have experienced excessive worry and anxiety about my health. In this episode, I take you along my journey and explain my experience with health-related anxiety. I was in a car accident with my mom when I was 8 years old, and since then, I've created stories and convinced myself that I am suffering serious illness despite medical reassurances that I am not. In this week's solo episode, I open up about the inappropriate and illegal relationship I found myself in when I was 16 years old. Even now, over ten years later, I'm still processing and healing from this experience, and today's episode is part of that journey. I recap everything for you and you'll hear how I wound up in a relationship with my high school strength coach. I'm coming to terms with the shame and the guilt that I carry from this relationship, and this is my message to you: It is not your fault. If you've been in an abusive relationship, you did not deserve what your abuser put you through. Even if you welcomed the relationship at the time, that does not mean that the abuse was okay. Recovering from abuse is confusing and uncomfortable, and if there is anyone else out there who knows what I'm talking about, I get it. I hope today's episode helps you feel less alone. Love you.
