Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Becoming a New Mom
This week on Trying to Figure It Out, I'm with Dr. Arias, a psychologist and expert in all things pregnancy, postpartum, women's health, and relationship dynamics. Having a baby is the ultimate lesson in taking a leap into the unknown and Dr. Arias is here to break down the mental side of becoming a mom.
She explains how special and fragile the human body is during pregnancy and postpartum. Physically and mentally, Dr. Arias prioritizes taking care of yourself so you can take care of your baby. She talks about postpartum depression and the feelings some moms get after having a baby, and how that is normal. Almost everything that happens around having a baby is out of the mom's control. And that is really, really hard. Dr.Arias explains ways to manage that feeling and answers more questions you have about pregnancy and postpartum.
Enjoy!
