The Nicole Sandler Show
Nicole Sandler
Nicole Sandler has worked in radio her entire adult life. After a successful career in music radio in NY and Los Angeles (WPLJ, KLOS, KSCA and others), she returned to talk radio to host mornings on then-progressive talk WINZ/Miami. After a flip to sports, she moved to Air America Radio for a nightly show. When AAR went off the air on Jan 21, 2010, Nicole Sandler moved online where she continues to question authority daily at nicolesandler.com.

20200610 Nicole Sandler Show - Our Surveillance State with Jason Leopold
The House Judiciary Committee today held a hearing on racial profiling and police brutality. It's long past due. Senate Republicans have promised their own police reform legislation, though their original deadline of Friday to release their plan has been scrapped. On the other side of the issue is the Dept of Justice, who's fighting incoming on a number of fronts today, which I'll detail during the program. Today's guest is Jason Leopold, senior investigative reporter for Buzzfeed News, who broke the story last week that the DEA was given sweeping new authority to conduct covert surveillance on people protesting the murder of George Floyd, racial profiling and police brutality.

20200609 Nicole Sandler Show - Tuesday Tweeting with GottaLaff
George Floyd's funeral is being carried on every TV network today, which must be making dear leader unhappy. He took to Twitter again today to smear Martin Gugino, the 75-year old man who was pushed to the ground by two Buffalo cops, as an "Antifa provocateur", accusing him of setting up the cops to injure him. With so many instances of police brutalizing peaceful protesters over the past two weeks, I understand the reason behind the "Defund the Police" sentiment, but fear the messaging is wrong. I'll explain what I mean. And it's Tuesday, so GottaLaff joins us today to fill us in on what Twitter is tweeting about today and more!

20200608 Nicole Sandler Show - Monday Music with Lili Haydn
It's a Monday, and yes, we have a show. We're now live at our new time, 5pm ET/2pm PT- but all else remains the same. The podcast will go out, as usual, following the live show. But the video archives will remain on YouTube and Facebook, and of course, our podcast archives are accessible through nicolesandler.com. We are adding a Monday show back to our regular week... but we're aiming to make Mondays a little less painful by harnessing the power of music. Each Monday, we'll have the usual news, commentary and a bit of funny in the first half of the show. For the second half, each week, we'll invite another artist to share their music, stories and, in most cases, activism.
Today, we welcome Lili Haydn [http://lilihaydn.com] to the show. Check her out at lilihaydn.com, and enjoy the show!

20200605 Nicole Sandler Show- Black Lives Matter with Benjamin Dixon
It's been a hell of a week, literally hell. Outraged humans took to the streets, ignoring the dangers posed by the global pandemic that's kept most of us at home for the past few months, to protest the murder of yet another unarmed African American at the hands of the very people who are charged with protecting us all. As a privileged white woman, I speak out, but know that I don't have the first-hand experience of what it's like to be black in America or how I can best help. A good place to start is by talking and listening. Today, I'm honored that Benjamin Dixon will join me today to continue the necessary conversation.

20200604 Nicole Sandler Show - Dystopian America Thursday with Howie Klein
While many of us remain safely at home, thousands of people took to the streets this week to protest the epidemic of police brutality that, like Covid-19, affects people of color the most. The administration is showing their fascist tendencies more each day, as they place the blame for the violence and looting on the left, when evidence shows the work of right wing and white supremacist groups leading the charge. I have a few words to say about the administration's unfounded blaming of AntiFa as the chief offenders, something the FBI has thoroughly debunked. It's Thursday, so that means Howie Klein joins us for the second half-hour of the show. We'll recap Tuesday's primary results, and continue our look at the coming races and tell you which candidates are the most progressive/best bets to move this country forward.
