Today is the third time I've had the honor of interviewing John Perkins and I can honestly say that he's one of the most fascinating people I've spoken with over the years. The same guy who gave us "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" now tells us about his inner journey taken over a lifetime and helps us to embark on a similar quest. His new book is "Touching the Jaguar: Transforming Fear Into Action to Change Your Life and the World". It's quite brilliant and exactly what we need to hear and read at this very strange moment in history.

I've lost track of the number of weeks we've been safely staying at home, but it's been a while. One cool silver lining of the pandemic has been the creativity with which people are communicating-- not counting the idiots who are acting as if the danger has passed. We're halfway through 2020, and things have just gotten even more surreal with three weeks of protests and a sea change in attitudes toward race relations and policing. Needless to say, GottaLaff's Twitter feed has been scrolling nonstop. It's Tuesday, so Laffy is here to talk about the news with me during her "Tweet Spot"....

Of course, we begin as usual with the latest news and information, and today we actually have some good news from the Supreme Court for a change, so we're in a celebratory mood-- unusual for this moment in history.

I've watched the political persecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman for more than a decade in abject horror that such a political assassination of a much-loved governor could happen in the United States of America. But it did, and justice was not served in any manner. Siegelman was targeted by Karl Rove and brought down on false charges of bribery in a case antithetical to the concept of democracy. Having served more than five years in federal prison for no crime, Siegelman finally tells the whole story, and issues some stark warnings about what can (and did) happen, and some prescriptions for fixing the many problems that plague American society today. Governor Siegelman joins me for most of the hour today, as we have a lot of ground to cover. I hope you'll share today's program with everyone who needs to hear about America's Political Prisoner #1.

It's another Thursday-- at least the days of the week are consistent during this time of our existence in opposite world. Every Thursday I'm joined by Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC. For the past few weeks, we've been spotlighting the Blue America-endorsed progressive candidates who are still running in primaries to be on the ballot in November. Votes are still being counted in Georgia, where Tuesday's primary elections were a complete disaster. But we march on. There are a lot of great candidates running in NY, where election day is June 23. We'll speak with one of them, Robin Wilt, who's running in NY's 25th District.
