20210322 Nicole Sandler Show - They're Still Trying to Keep You from Voting with Katie Hobbs
Votes matter! Turnout in the 2020 presidential elections broke every record. The numbers are astounding, making the fact that this turnout happened while we were battling a global pandemic make the numbers even more groundbreaking. Instead of celebrating the success of mail in, drop off and other methods of voting in delivering the largest voter participation in history, dozens of state legislatures have jumped into action introducing hundreds of pieces of legislation to restrict voting access in 2021! Arizona leads the nation in proposed voter suppression legislation in 2021, with 19 restrictive bills currently being considered. My guest today is Katie Hobbs, Arizona's Secretary of State, whose responsibilities include administering all elections in the state, and certifying their results.

20210319 Nicole Sandler Show - Wrapping Up Another Week with David Dayen & Boca Brit Somers
We're 8 weeks into the Biden administration and things definitely feel different. But how much has changed? We'll check in today with David Dayen, excutive editor of The American Prospect, where they're keeping a comprehensive record of all the administration is doing. But we'll start with the place I live, FloriDUH and our moRonic governor Death Sentence. Unfortunately, the slimy politics neither begin or end with DeathSentence... he's just our current sideshow. My friend and neighbor 'Boca' Britany Somers joins me to help tell the story of the former state senator Frank Artiles, who was arrested yesterday for his role in putting up a fake candidate to steal a seat in the legislature from the Democrats. If only Carl Hiaasen were still writing his column for the Miami Herald. His regular contributions ended this week after brilliantly telling the tales of the state in this forum since 1985. A big loss for us all.

20210318 Nicole Sandler Show- Earmarks Return with Howie Klein
It's another Thursday and Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC is here to talk politics. The Biden administration has, so far, been the most progressive in recent history. I'll see if I can get Howie to admit that fact! House Democrats yesterday introduced the Medicare for All Act of 2021 and it appears that my congressman is jumping in with the progressives! And now, it appears that Republicans will overturn their ban on earmarks which was put into place in 2011 during the Tea Party days. We have a lot to discuss today.

20210316 Nicole Sandler Show - The Planet's Survival is in Our Hands
President Biden signed a few executive orders shortly after being sworn in to mitigate climate change and get us on the correct road to saving the planet. But it'll take all of us getting on board. Are we ready? What must we do? I'm joined today by Andreas Karelas, founder of REvolve, and author of "Climate Courage: How tacking climate change can build community, transform the economy, and bridge the political divide in America". But first, I have a few things to say about the filibuster, and our very broken Congress.

20210315 Nicole Sandler Show – Monday Money, Music and More with Jill Sobule
It's Monday, the start of a new week. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and their surrogates head out on the road today to "sell" the American Rescue Plan that he signed into law on Thursday.
By now, many of us have seen those $1400 payments hit our bank accounts - or will soon. And hopefully, things will start to improve after four years of ugliness and widespread hate. I'll recap you on the latest news and share a few other items of interest... and then we'll get to the musical portion of the program.
The Grammy Awards ceremony was last night.... though the restrictions due to COVID 19 made it a better show than it usually is, my kind of music was sadly lacking. So, I invited Jill Sobule [http://jillsobule.com] to join in today. She's starting up some songwriting workshops online. If you're interested, email her to get the details! ["jill@jillsobule.com"]
We decided to try to work together on a theme song for my show, something she's been promising for many years now. So if you have lyrics to contribute, feel free to email them to Jill or me!
