We're living through horribly dysfunctional times. I won't say that if not for Trump, things would be all peachy keen. But I do believe they'd be a lot better than the shit storm we're still experiencing, due to him. And unfortunately, just because he's no longer in office, he's still able to do damage. Today, I speak with Philip Rucker of the Washington Post. He and Carol Leonnig just released their second book about the former guy's time in office. They titled he new one, "I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump's Catastrophic Final Year." As usual, we'll begin with the latest news... today that includes word on the so called BIF infrastructure plan, new COVID precautions, the Olympics, climate change.... you get the idea.

Devastating is the word that best describes the testimony by four police officers who helped protect the Capitol from the insurrectionists on January 6. Although we knew what happened and had already heard from some of these officers, today's testimony was - well- devastating. And really sad. Today, I'll share my thoughts and lots of audio/video from today's hearing. Then we'll check in with Carolina Ampudia, the newly-elected president of the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida to tell us about the chair of the Florida Democratic Party publicly dissing the progressive caucus... No wonder we keep losing in Florida.

Five years ago this week my world turned upside down. It was a dark time, as Donald Trump's campaign -for the first time- looked more serious than the bad joke it should have been. While contemplating the possibility of the orange conman as our next president, I got some devastating news. I'll share that with you at the top of today's show, knowing that the outcome was better than anything I could have hoped for that day five years ago. Covid is rearing its ugly head again, especially down here in FloriDUH and it's affected my weekend plans. I'll explain. And then we'll be joined by today's guest. Michael C. Bender is the senior White House reporter for the Wall Street Journal. His book, "Frankly, We Did Win This Election" was released last week and entered the NY Times bestseller list at #3. I guess that's because everyone loves a good train wreck...
