Elvis (2022)

Dust off your blue suede shoes, people. It’s time to talk about Elvis Presley! Anytime Blaire and Marie get to talk about a Baz Luhrmann movie is a good time on this pod, and this Baz-ified biopic of The King did not disappoint. Catherine Martin designed the costumes (we talked about her in our Moulin Rouge episode), which included over 9,000 background cast looks, and over 90 for Elvis (played by Austin Butler). Fun fact: Miuccia Prada was behind several of the costumes for Priscilla Presley and Elvis. Listen to us dive into Elvis’s real-life, ahead-of-his-time style, start a petition for more menz to wear lace shirts, and more, in this fun episode. Death Becomes Her (1992)

Siempre Viva! Live Forever! Marie and Blaire dive into one of the greats…Death Becomes Her! In this dark comedy, Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn are Madeline and Helen, two longtime frenemies and love rivals (over a semi-dorky Bruce Willis) who want to be young and HOT forever, so they drink a fountain of youth potion that perks ‘em up and makes them immortal! Hijinks ensue, naturally. The costumes were designed by thee Joanna Johnston, who did Hellraiser (!), Back to the Future II and III, The Witches reboot, Forrest Gump, Love Actually, and so much more, and every look is to die for (no pun intended). We want everything from Helen’s Nike t-shirt to Madeline’s marabou-trimmed diva robe! Listen to us fangirl over these iconic costumes, chat about fun facts, and figure out what we’re adding to cart. The Parent Trap

“Being young and beautiful isn't a crime, you know.” Pour yourself a glass of Parker Knoll Cabernet, and come sit with Blaire and Marie who are on their own for this episode. It's Parent Trap day! This 1998 remake starring Lindsay Lohan and Lindsay Lohan is a real GEM. Oscar-worthy, TBQH! Miss Lindsay acted and ate this role! Everyone has style in this movie, from the long-lost twins, Hailey and Annie, to the evil girl boss Meredith Blake, to the leather daddy butler ,Martin, and the one and only Chessy! Costumes are by Penny Rose (who did the Pirates of Carribean sequels, Entrapment, Evita, Men in Black: International) and every look is to-die-for! Listen to your hosts break down all of the movie’s fashion, spill fun facts, and discuss what they’re adding to cart from this episode.  They also discuss Haunted dolls on TikTok, the Necrophonic app, the MSCHF x Fenty Beauty ketchup collab, doppelgängers, how Marie has never seen a Pirates movie (does she have to though…), pink rings, and more.  Sources and mentions: Our Doppelgangers are out there Parent Trap inspired shirts from Hundred Acres Haunted Charlotte Necrophonic spirit box app  MSCHF x Fenty Beauty A Baseball Cap We See for 12 Seconds in 'The Parent Trap' Sums up the Whole Movie - Garage Elaine Hendrix Answers Every Question We Have About The Parent Trap - Vulture For visuals of the costumes, follow us on: Instagram at @makeovermontagepodcast TikTok at @makeovermontagepodcast Follow Marie on Instagram and Blaire on Instagram Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review us on Apple Podcasts or Spotify!  To request a movie for us to cover, DM us on Instagram or hit us up at makeovermontagepod[at]gmail.com. Interview With 'Secret Headquarters' Costume Designer Antoinette Messam

We have Antoinette Messam on the pod with us to talk about her work in Secret Headquarters, the super cute new movie starring Owen Wilson about a boy and his friends who discover a superhero's hidden HQ underneath his dad's home. Antoinette talks about designing a superhero movie for the first time, the most (surprisingly!) stressful costume in the movie, and getting clearance to use an Outkast hoodie. We also ask about her incredible western designs in The Harder They Fall, and how it feels to have been responsible for the iconic 'Orphan' look which is a popular costume every Halloween.  Follow Antoinette Messam on Instagram! Interview With 'Angelyne' Costume Designer Danny Glicker

If you're an Angeleno, chances are you've come across the pink alien superstar, known as Angelyne, riding around in her pink Corvette. Emmy Rossum plays the billboard queen in Peacock's fabulous limited series and her outfits are an explosion of rainbows, rhinestones, animal prints, and, of course, pink, pink, pink! We have costume designer Danny Glicker on today's episode, who was the genius behind Angelyne's 100 + outfits and is also nominated for an Emmy because of it! Danny also designed the costumes in Mother!, This is the End, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Bad Times at the El Royale, and many more. Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991)

"Neat? Anyone who says my sh** was neat has to go." Madonna: Truth or Dare was arguably one of the most titillating music documentaries that has ever been made. Hosts Marie Lodi and Blaire Bercy discuss the importance of the film with sister special guests Elizabeth Spiridakis Olson and costume designer Cristina Spiridakis (Queer as Folk, The Bear, Betty, Dash and Lily)! The four of us break down the outrageously fabulous Blonde Ambition tour costumes designed by Jean Paul Gaultier while also discussing our love for Fluevog Munsters, Madonna's wild backstage and offstage antics, ponder our longtime curiosities (what WAS that soup Madonna was eating?), and the film's immense impact on the queer community, fashion, and really anyone who grew up during the '90s in this era of Madonna.  Follow Cristina and Elizabeth on Instagram! New York Minute (2004)

We're kicking off the weekend with a new episode: New York Minute (2004) with thee #1 Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen fan, Natalie Burris of @halloweenqueens!  The great Roger Ebert once said about this cult classique, “Not only should it have gone straight to video but should have gone straight THROUGH video and kept on going to the end of the universe and never looked back." All the love to Rog, but we RESPEKFULLY have to disagree. Though it may not be perfect (cough, Andy Richter, lawd wtf), it does have lots of fun 2000s looks! Costumes were by Christopher Hargadon (The Umbrella Academy).  Other topics of interest: Ashley's character being a young Republican, the House of Bling bend and snap moment, ripped jeans with flip flops (GULP), the Evolution of Olsen fashion, and Heath Ledger (RIP). Plus our Obsessed Much obsessions ( a little old since we recorded this earlier): the Barbie movie, Black Monday, the Elvis movie, Zandra Rhodes x Fluevog, all the Halloween collections coming out! Follow Natalie and Halloween Queens! An Interview with "Moon Knight" Costume Designer Meghan Kasperlik

Steven Grant/Marc Spector hive, please rise! We have Moon Knight costume designer Meghan Kasperlik (who has just been nominated for her incredible work on the show!) on to talk about the absolutely bonkers costumes, including all of the clever and cool Easter eggs she put in the clothes, and which outfit "terrified" her the most. (Yes, we managed to restrain ourselves from asking inappropriate questions about Oscar Isaac). Meghan also talks about getting her start in the biz with Patricia Field, dressing Evan Peters in Mare of Easttown (and giving Jean Smart a "fake butt"), her work in Watchmen and more!   Follow Meghan Kasperlik on Instagram    For visuals of the costumes, follow us on: Instagram at @makeovermontagepodcast TikTok at @makeovermontagepodcast Follow Marie on Instagram and Blaire on Instagram Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review us on Apple Podcasts or Spotify!  To request a movie for us to cover, DM us on Instagram or hit us up at makeovermontagepod[at]gmail.com. Casino (1995)

"For guys like me, Las Vegas washes away your sins. It's a morality car wash." We are so excited to have the one and only Alana Levinson on the pod. She's a writer, editor, and co-host of the West Coast fashion podcast, Free Validation. And today, we're getting very EYE-TALIAN and talking about mob movies, specifically Martin Scorsese's 1995 flick Casino. From Robert De Niro's iconic coral-colored suit, to the countless looks sported by style icon Ginger (played by Sharon Stone), the costumes are bananas, and for that we have Rita Ryack and John Dunn to thank.
