069: Difference Between B2B and B2C Marketing

Marketing your business doesn't need to be as difficult as you might be making it. The challenge is that many marketers talk about marketing and content in blanket statements, that this works or no you shouldn't do that. (I'm guilty of that too.) Here's the thing: So much of marketing (and, frankly, business in general) depends. It depends on what you're selling, what type of business you have, what your goals are, who your audience is, and so much more. So I wanted to take an episode and talk about the difference between marketing to other businesses and marketing to general consumers. There are some key differences and no matter what type of business you're in, I think you'll walk away with some key takeaways. Mentioned in This Episode One Week to Your Welcome Sequence challenge

068: How to Market Your Product Business with Sue Monhait

There's a lot of talk online about marketing for online businesses, and I hear from product-based businesses that they feel forgotten about. I don't blame them! And even as an online, service-based business, I've seen it. But so many product businesses have seen a huge hit to their income during the season of this pandemic. Brick and mortar shops closed up and even if they opened back up quickly, many people haven't felt safe to go back in person. Farmer's markets and other events also closed for much of the summer, which is a busy season for many. Since I don't often work with physical product businesses, I invited my friend Sue Monhait of Gift Biz Unwrapped to join me on the podcast. She shares: Why not everyone is born to have a product business How to shift your mindset so you can move past this difficult time The most important thing product businesses can do right now to keep their businesses afloat How Facebook is helping the product business (yes, really) Why your business model matters Tune in now, whether you're a seasoned gifter, baker, crafter, or maker or you're just getting started. 066: Nurturing Buyers After the Digital Product Sale

What happens after you sell a digital product? Do you wish your buyers well and be on your way? That's one way to do it--if you don't care about the relationship you have with your buyers or their success. A better way is to nurture them after the sale. Check in with them periodically to make sure they know how to access what they purchased and remind them of the incentive for doing the thing. (What's that incentive? Well, it's the reason they bought the product in the first place. The successful transformation or win they were after.) That's exactly what I'm addressing here in today's episode of the Stories in Small Business podcast. This is a piggyback or companion episode to episode 65, and I highly recommend you listen to that episode alongside this one. 063: Staying Inside Your Zones of Genius

You'd never offer medical advice to a passing stranger or offer to cook a gourmet meal when you struggle to make Ramen. But are you offering up content to your audience that's outside your area of expertise (your zones of genius)? I think this is common, mostly because so many business owners struggle with what content to create, where to publish it, and even who they're talking to. So if you're in this camp, you're certainly not alone! Let's find your way back inside your zones of genius. In this episode of the Stories in Small Business podcast, I'm sharing what zones of genius actually are, how to find yours and what to do afterward. This is a vital part of the content strategy process, so tune in now! Mentioned in This Episode Content Strategy Clarity Course
