Staying Home With Whit | What I Learned About Myself in 2020

2020 has been a year of hardship, stress, sadness, anxiety, depression...a lot of negative. However, there have also been moments of learning, finding light, feeling shine and experiencing growth. I wanted to reflect on my year not only to share with you some of my lessons to hopefully inspire you to look at yours, but also to say things out loud. I walked away from recording this feeling so proud of myself and happy. It truly felt like a therapy session, and I found myself actually learning new things about myself as I spoke. The power of self reflection is evident. I highly recommend that you take a moment to look back at all of the experiences you went through this year. Good, bad, happy, sad, wins, mistakes, stresses...there is something you will be able to take away from all of them. Trust me. Thank you all for listening to my podcast this year. It means so so much to me. I wish you all a happy and healthy 2021...I’ll see you next year! Xo This episode is brought to you by Nutrafol. Staying Home With Whit | Joe Zee, Timmy and I Dish About ‘The City’

Timmy and I are currently making reaction videos to ‘The Hills’ on my YouTube! Did you know that?! Prior to watching 'The Hills' we binged the whole series of 'The City,' the show where I moved to NYC to follow my dreams! It was crazy and amazing, and I met some of the most inspiring people. One of those people is Joe Zee - someone I look up to immensely. Timmy and I chat with him all about his experience filming a reality show while serving as Creative Director at ELLE Magazine! Joe is an internationally acclaimed TV producer, host and style expert, and fashion industry veteran. Joe’s impressive resume features leadership roles at mega fashion publications including Creative Director at ELLE Magazine and Editor-in-Chief and Executive Creative Officer at Yahoo! Style. His trusted fashion expertise has earned him roles on top broadcast programs, including the role of resident judge on Canada’s Stitched and Oscar’s pre-show coverage for ABC’s Good Morning America, as well as on-air contributions to NBC’s TODAY, CNN, Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight. Most recently, he produced the Netflix documentary series, ‘7 Days Out’.   Produced by Dear MediaSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Staying Home With Whit | Zahra Kassam on the Benefits of a Montessori Education

The process of finding the right school for Sonny was daunting and scary. It’s a lot of pressure to send your child to the “right” place where they can flourish. When you start to look, you hardly know your child’s personality yet so it’s confusing to know what’s right. The more you search, the more you realize there isn’t just one “right” place. They are all perfect in their own right but the one that worked for us was simply based on a gut reaction. We chose a Montessori School because we love their philosophy and it just felt warm and cozy. Prior to quarantine, I spoke with Zahra Kassam, Founder and CEO of venture-backed start-up, Monti Kids: the only subscription service for children ages 0-3 that provides an authentic Montessori education, proven in schools for over 100 years. During our conversation, Zahra explains all of the benefits to a Montessori education, its history and ways parents can start implementing this philosophy into their homes. Zahra holds a BA in Psychology from Harvard and a Master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is an internationally certified Montessori teacher at the infant, toddler and preschool levels and a mother to two young boys. Through Monti Kids, Zahra is filling the education gap from birth to preschool, the most critical years of development when 85% of the brain is formed. Staying Home With Whit | Tyler Cameron on The Bachelorette & Life After

Timmy and I watch a lot of TV - especially reality and especially, especially the Bachelor franchise. Before even knowing Timmy, my family had Bachelor/Bachelorette viewings every Monday with family and friends. It was A THING in our household. Chris Harrison and friends even came over one Monday night on one of their classic mega-fan watching party pop ins! So, you can imagine our excitement when the opportunity presented itself to chat with Tyler Cameron. He shares all the details of the audition process he went through for the Bachelorette, what life was like after the show and more. Tyler is a TV personality, actor, author, model, and philanthropist. He is a co-founder & ambassador for the charity organization, ABC Food Tours, which focuses on enriching the lives of kids in underserved communities. Additionally, in July 2021, Tyler will publish his first book. You Deserve Better combines his life story with a guide for both men and women to build healthy relationships in the tricky world of modern dating.    This episode is brought to you by Usual. Staying Home With Whit | Roxy Olin & I Reminisce On Filming ‘The City’

Do you guys watch my YouTube channel? You should. Timmy and I spent the beginning of quarantine binging and filming our reactions to ‘The City,’ my spinoff from ‘The Hills’! It was so much fun and nostalgic (and cringy). We are amazed at the community we have built while premiering our videos with LIVE chats on Wednesdays and Fridays on our channel. Join us! We thought it would be fun to interview some cast members from the show. First up is Roxy Olin! Roxy and I have been friends forever. She was my coworker and rock who got me through the strange life of filming a reality TV show. We walk down memory lane and share the process of filming including some juicy insider info. Staying Home With Whit | Ariane Goldman, Founder of Hatch, On The Common Denominator of Motherhood

If you have been following me for a while, you know that pregnancy was a mix of extremes - major highs and major lows. I wasn’t that stereotypical mom who felt glowy or sexy or empowered. I wanted to be excited, but I couldn’t force it and that made me feel weak and unstable. I felt really alone and wished I had been able to hear other voices singing the same tune...a community of humans bringing other humans into the world with a validating and encouraging tone. In this episode, I talk with Ariane Goldman, founder of HATCH, the most amazing maternity brand that’s mission includes cultivating a community. With over 100K followers on Instagram, the HATCH community is a place for mom’s looking for support and relief. Ariane and I discuss how she built her brand, the common denominator of motherhood and the importance of adapting as a mother (this year has really proven this). Hope all you moms or moms to be love this one! This episode is brought to you by HOMER. Staying Home With Whit | Faith Xue, Editor of Byrdie Beauty, And I Talk Everything Beauty!

I love beauty. I love exploring new products, trends and everything in between. Obviously beauty has changed dramatically over this year. I know I am wearing far less makeup than ever before. It’s nice, but I also miss getting glammed up. My quarantine beauty routine is mainly just a lot of skincare! Not complaining. I have been so curious about what has been happening to the industry since Covid hit. I zoomed with Faith Xue, Editorial Director of Byrdie, a one stop shop blog for everything beauty for everyone. Faith and I discuss how our own beauty routines have changed, the future of the beauty industry and brands and celebrities to watch! Faith has been with Byrdie since 2014 as one of their first editors. Prior to joining Byrdie, Faith was a staff editor for L’Oréal’s beauty website Makeup.com, where she oversaw editorial strategy and daily content production. After a brief stint at Angeleno magazine, she realized her heart was in digital. Her first job, ghost-writing for a major beauty YouTuber, was how her love for beauty began—and where she discovered the power of social media. Hope my beauty lovers enjoy this one!
