Manreet Sodhi on Lahore - A Partition Tale

In this episode, Karthik speaks to author Manreet Sodhi who recently published 'Lahore' - the first book in her trilogy on the partition of India. Karthik speaks to her about her childhood in a border town in Punjab, where a young Manreet grew up listening to stories of partition. They discuss why there is a lack of literature and cinema on the subject when compared to how the holocaust has been documented in the west and why it is important to tell this story from a woman's perspective. They also talk about why fiction as a genre works for her body of work even though Manreet spends decades researching the subject.
