In this episode, Karthik speaks to author Manreet Sodhi who recently published 'Lahore' - the first book in her trilogy on the partition of India. Karthik speaks to her about her childhood in a border town in Punjab, where a young Manreet grew up listening to stories of partition. They discuss why there is a lack of literature and cinema on the subject when compared to how the holocaust has been documented in the west and why it is important to tell this story from a woman's perspective. They also talk about why fiction as a genre works for her body of work even though Manreet spends decades researching the subject. Manreet also talks about insights on the partition that surprised her and changed her perspectives, during her 20-year research on the subject.
