In today’s culture there’s a massive push away from the Gospel. Progressive Christianity rejects the doctrines that the early Christians died to preserve. Hebrews 1 reminds us of the Savior we serve and the authority He holds over this world. Jesus is the creator, high priest, and the final prophet. He is the exact representation of God’s glory. He isn’t just a reflection of the Lord, but the very image of God. Hebrews 2 warns believers against forgetting who Jesus is. We must pay close attention to the Gospel. The Word of God will shape who we are and how we see God. There are no passive pictures of what pursuing personal holiness looks like. Peter encouraged the church to remember it is an honor to suffer for righteousness’ sake. We need to pursue doctrines worth dying for.The devil will pull you away from Christ until you look like the world. Make and keep the Lord the highest loyalty in life. Share the hope you have with those around you. Tell others how Christ has changed you. Remember to be gentle and respectful as you preach. Zach Mabry | SWO21 | BreakoutWith every advancement in technology, there is the opportunity to use it for the Gospel and the temptation to use it for selfish purposes. Social media is no different. With a third of the world on social media, there is definitely an increased opportunity to be a light of the Gospel but there is an obvious inherent danger as well. One of the biggest dangers of social media is that it has become a fundamental part of the world and is being used to promote a narrative that is contrary to the Gospel. But the truth of the matter is that those of us in student ministry have an amazing opportunity to impact eternal, image-bearers of God during some of the most formative years of their lives. It is up to us to help steer the discipleship of the students that God has placed in our ministries by pointing them to God and His revealed Word. The “kids” in our ministries are the church of God today and will be the leaders of the church tomorrow.
