Ep 108 - Amelia Garvey Rookie Golf Professional

This week I chat with Amelia Garvey who is a young kiwi golfer at the beginning of her professional journey.I had no intention of publishing this as a podcast, Amelia had agreed to jump on a zoom with some of our young aspirational players and I loved it so much I asked if I could publish it. It has been great to watch Amelia grow both on and off the golf course and I am sure we will see a lot more of her in the future. Send us a textSupport the showhttps://talkingperformancepod.com/

Ep 105 - Steven Alker "Cinderella Story"

This week I am joined by New Zealand Professional Golfer Steve AlkerFor those who don’t know Steve’s story, here is a quick over viewHe turned pro in 1995 after a very impressive amateur career and up until 2020 had won 11 events around the world, from the pacific islands to the Web.com tour or what it now known as the Korn Ferry tour. While he has played on the PGA Tour he didn’t have a standout career, but since turning 50 and joining the champions tour his life has changed. On Monday the 16th of August 2021 he qualified for a PGA Tour Champions event by Monday qualifying, which in itself is impressive enough and not only made the cut that week but he finished inside the top 10, ensuring he would get a start the following week, he then did that for the next 6 weeks in a row!Fast forward just over a year and he has played 29 events·        Made 29 cuts·        4 Wins·        23 Top 10s And in 2022 sits a top the order of meritAnyone you talk to who knows Steve says how much of a great man he is and I think that comes through in this podcast. He is everything you want in a champion, humble, hard working and constantly seeking improvement and he obviously has a great family around himSend us a textSupport the showhttps://talkingperformancepod.com/

Ep 104 - Daragh Sheridan - Head of High Performance Coach Development at IRFU

This week my guest is Daragh Sheridan, Daragh was a previous guest and someone I have looked up to as a source of knowledge over the last few years. He has recently moved back to Ireland with his family, to take up a position as Head of High Performance Coach Development at IRFU.Prior to that he was Head of capability and expertise at Sport Ireland and more recently Manager of High Performance Coaching at HPSNZ, while he is lost to New Zealand in the short term I get the sense it wont be the last we see of him in this country. In this chat I try to dig in to some of the core roles and competencies of a high performance coach and get a sense from Daragh where this space is heading. I love his people first attitude and I hope you get a lot out of this chat.Send us a textSupport the showhttps://talkingperformancepod.com/

100 - David Galbraith Reunion

This is a pretty special episode for me. Not because it is my 100th episode but more because I was back where it all started with my old mate, live on Facebook with such a cool community. I loved being back online live and seeing the names of the community pop up with questions and comments and it made me reflect on how incredibly grateful I am to have started this and made so many great connections.A special thanks at this point to a couple of people who helped make this happen at the start, obviously DG but also my good mate Scott Curtis. We cover some cool shit in this chat and the key bit that really stuck with me was DG saying “we need to magnify magic everywhere and have this as part of our language”Anyway If you would like to connect with DG check out his website https://www.habitofgreatness.co.nz/ and in particular his online mindset courses. Thanks for all your support over the 100 EpisodesSend us a textSupport the showhttps://talkingperformancepod.com/
