Become Your Own Back Mechanic with Prof. Stuart McGill! 058
Send us a textBecoming your own back mechanic? What a great idea! Professor Stuart McGill shows us how! Back pain is a big problem for so many people. And Professor McGill has spend his life becoming a true master of his craft. As a professor emeritus at the University of Waterloo for 30 years, he has helped thousands of people to not only get out of pain, but to learn how to assess and correct issues for themselves. His book Back Mechanic was so important for us and the people we work with for understanding these issues. He is now the Chief Scientific Officer of backfitpro.com, and is still helping people to this day. We are so grateful for Professor Start McGill and his great work to help people get out of pain!Find Prof. McGill at-https://www.backfitpro.com/FB- @BackfitproFind Boundless Body at- myboundlessbody.com Book a session with us here!

Redefining Success with Ultramarathon Runner Prof. Ryan Chukuske! 057
Send us a textProfessor Ryan Chukuske is helping us understand the true meaning of success! After he found running, he had some lofty goals, like say, run 100 miles..... at one time. And he decided to write a book about his experience. But he never finished the race, dropping out at mile 68. So why did he write the book? Sometimes our failures are our greatest teachers. And getting back up and trying again can lead to our greatest successes. Prof. Chukuske went on to run more races and wrote more books, including one about his experience at the Bigfoot 200, and all the people that make that event possible. Prof. Chukuske reminds us that it is the journey, not the destination, that is most important, and we are so grateful that he took the time to talk with us!Find Prof. Ryan Chukuske at-ryanchukuske.comFind Boundless Body at- myboundlessbody.com Book a session with us here!

Getting Angry with Bestselling Trainer Vinnie Tortorich! 055
Send us a textWE WILL PAY YOU TO WATCH VINNIE TORTORICH'S FILMS. You heard that right. We will personally pay you to watch Fat: A Documentary, or Fat: A Documentary 2. Send me your Venmo, and I will pay you. That's how strongly I feel about these amazing films. Why is Vinnie angry? He's angry that the fitness world is screwing you over. He's angry that we embraced the ridiculous Food Pyramid in the '90's. He's angry that people are making money on lies. Vinnie isn't an angry person, in fact he's one of the most kind people we're met. But when big corporations take your time and money and lie to you, you better believe Vinnie is going to get mad. His bestselling book, Fitness Confidential: Adventures in the Weight Loss Game exposes the rampant shams in the health and fitness world. He has an incredible podcast that has over 1,770 episodes as of this podcast. And with almost 40 years of experience, he should know. Healing Trauma With Superstar Theo Fleury! 054
Send us a textTheo Fleury is the first hockey player I remember idolizing as a five year old kid, watching him play for my beloved Salt Lake Golden Eagles. Due to his height at 5'6", he almost wasn't even drafted. But he thrived as a professional hockey player. He has won a gold medal with Canada in 2002, the Stanley Cup with the Flames in 1989, the Turner Cup with the Golden Eagles in 1988, made the NHL all-star team seven times, and set several scoring records. But Theo had a secret; after years of being sexually abused in his teenage years, he became addicted to drugs and alcohol. But after he turned his life around, he is now an activist for overcoming trauma in many different ways and on many different platforms, including writing a bestselling book Playing With Fire, and starting his fantastic podcast, The Theo Fleury Podcast. He delivered this amazing Ted Talk, and frequently speaks out about racial injustice. Love, kindness, forgiveness and connection are all part of his message. I was STOKED to have this conversation!PLEASE. If you, or anyone you know is suffering from a mental health issue, there is help. ChiRunning with Bestselling Author Danny Dreyer! 053
Send us a textThis is a conversation we've wanted to have for years! Danny Dreyer made the realization that the Eastern practice of tai chi could be integrated with his Western lifestyle and running, and ChiRunning was born! Balance, mindfulness, yin and yang, connection, and movement all join forces in his running techniques. He has written several books, but the bestseller ChiRunning: A Revolutionary Approach To Effortless, Injury-Free Running was the one that caught our attention years ago and helped us and our clients run and walk effectively and safely. Diving Deep with World Record Holding Free Diver Tanya Streeter 052
Send us a textTanya Streeter knows how to go deep! In 2002, Tanya broke the world record for "no limits" free diving by going down to a depth of (think about this) 525 feet. She successfully set the record for both women and men, and to this day, still holds the record for the women's classification. But she didn't stop there. She has continued to be an advocate of the sport, and has devoted a massive amount of time and energy into the conservation of the oceans. She delivered this incredible TEDx presentation (you could hear a pin drop) in 2012, and four years later, appeared in the documentary The Plastic Ocean, which brings awareness to the problem of plastics in our oceans. She knows better than anyone how important the breath is, as she explained in this recent NPR TED Radio Hour. We are so grateful for Tanya's authenticity and vulnerability, for her mental toughness and her determination! The Big Fat Surprise with NY Times Bestselling Author Nina Teicholz! 050
Send us a textBestselling science journalist Nina Teicholz has been such an amazing influence in our lives, I couldn't even get through reading the introduction without getting emotional. Nina wrote the most incredible book in 2014 called The Big Fat Surprise. It took nearly a decade of research and writing to complete, and it is a masterpiece of journalistic science. Nina is also the Executive Director of The Nutrition Coalition, a non-profit, non-partisan group, free from industry funding, that is simply seeking to (this is absolutely insane, think about this statement) reform the Nutritional Guidelines so that they are based on science. That's right. Our Nutritional Guidelines are NOT based on science. Nina is a gladiator, focused on helping fellow humans understand how nutritional science has failed us. We could not be grateful enough for her and her work. Send us a textToday we got a salted. Darryl Bosshardt from Redmond Real Salt (we LOVE their products but have no affiliation) appears on our show to talk about this important nutrient, but we didn't get salty! We discussed the myths about the "benefits" of a low-salt diet and why most people should be consuming MORE salt, not less! We also discuss natural forms of salt, how and where to find them, and why they are better than most kinds of table salt! But are we done telling salt jokes?
