What is a 1%-er???

What is a 1%-er To first understand what a 1%-er is about, you must first understand what a 1%-er is not. This course isn’t going to give you every in-depth super-sciency detail, it’s not going to breakdown every macro and micronutrient of nutrition, it’s not going to tell you why the amygdala functions the way it does, or go behind the scenes on the neurotheology brain synapses in your mindset, it’s not going to overwhelm you with forty different things you must do in order to get the best night’s sleep, or fourteen different food combos that you much mix together daily in order to feel healthy, it's not even going to tell you definites on what you must do. These type of specifics are fluid and always changing.  For example, if I wrote this book five years ago one of the most powerful superfoods would have been the almond. Now I find myself trying to avoid the almond because it’s not as beneficial as it was once thought to be and there is a thing called the Bariku nut that basically blows it away in every single category possible. What I’m saying is, I don’t want this book to only be relevant for a year and have no relevance when your kids are grown up, or when your kids have kids. I want this course and book to transcend time.  Concepts, mindsets, lifestyle habits transcend time - diets, workout routines, and the flavor of the month in mindfulness practice does not. The reason I am creating this course is for the sheer fact of my passion for pouring in to others and seeing you be able to live your best day every day. I have been able to live my best day every day through optimizing my sleep, nutrition, training, mindset, rest and recovery, longevity, and swag confidence. I know how it has helped me never get sick, have ultimate energy every day, stay under 6% body fat consistently without having to live in the gym, being able to get the night’s sleep every night, knowing exactly what foods help my body and mind function at their best, reduce my telomeres (actual tracker of age) to ten years less than my age, all together allowing me to live each day with ultimate joy, passion for what I do, and overall confidence in who I am.  I know if I am able to do this through concepts, mindsets, and lifestyle habits that are easy to develop then so are you. Who I am NOT - Why Who I am NOT defines who I am

Who am I? To first understand who I am, you must understand who I am not.  I am not a nutritionist, I am not a certified trainer, I have no background in sleep coaching, and I have never taken a mindfulness class in my life.  I am not a scientist, I am not a doctor, I have no certificate saying that I am someone with any type of specific specialty that would make me an expert.  I have no world class gift for learning, I’ve never been deemed a genius, I’ve never been the top of my class, and I’ve never taken an IQ test for the sole fact I don’t care what it is.  I don’t have any advantage over anyone else, I wasn’t born into wealth, I didn’t attend a prestigious college, I wasn’t given any preferential treatment growing up, I didn’t have a single dollar to my name until 25.  I wasn’t born into a great city of opportunity (I was born in the middle of nowhere small town, cornfields of Iowa), I wasn’t born with a world-altering talent, I wasn’t born with any above average athleticism (I choose basketball as my passion and dream - great choice for a short unathletic white kid from the middle of nowhere Iowa, huh?).  In short, there is nothing special about me. There is nothing that screams at you greatness. There is however one thing that I have that others don’t. There is one thing that puts me in the 1% compared the rest of the world, the 99%.  And that one thing is the one thing that makes all the difference, the one thing that has made me who I am, the one thing that has helped me achieve everything I have achieved, the one thing that has allowed me to rise to the top of my field personally life coaching over 100 NBA players, being called in as an expert in my craft to over 40 countries spanning six continents, allowed me to set world records, and grow a personal brand that is recognized worldwide. That one thing - confidence. Confidence in who I am, confidence in what I am doing, confidence in where I want to go, and the confidence that if I relentlessly work at what I want to achieve I will achieve it, regardless of how many people tell me that I can’t.  No special gifts, no special head starts in life, no special birthplace, no special preferential treatment of any type, no special talents or athleticism, just an unwavering confidence and belief in self that has carried me every step of the way. So why am I telling you all of this? Why am I telling you all that I am not? So that you know if a small town boy from the middle of nowhere cornfield Iowa can achieve all of their dreams and life exactly they life they want to live, then so can you. That is why I am writing this book, that is why I am as passionate as I am about helping others find their passion. That is why I wake up every day with an energy and enthusiasm to attack the day ahead, that is why I find much more pleasure in pouring into others and giving them every ounce of me I can give.
