OC91-From Celebrity Rehab: Sherry Gaba on Love Addiction and Co-depencency

Hey did you ever watch celebrity rehab? Well if you did, then you'll be familiar with my guest today, Sherry Gaba. Sherry was the therapist along with Dr Drew Pensky on seasons 2,3 and 4! Sherry is an author of a few books, she's been on shows like CNN, Enews, CBS, Inside Edition and many more as a recovery and relationship expert. Her online program, Wake Up Recovery is recommended by the most credible pillars in healing: Dr Drew Penksky, Deepak Chopra and Melody Beatie. I'll leave a link to her online program in the show notes, but if you want to look it up now, it's wakeuprecovery.com But before we jump in, I'm really excited to share a resource to solve a problem so many of us in recovery which is weight gain and emotional eating. We're hosting a free webinar: "The 3 Secrets To Quickly Lose Stubborn Body Fat For Busy Professionals Over 40 ...Without Starving or Exercising!" (Even If You've Never Been Able To Lose Weight Before!) It's a highly personalized coaching program, so we can only take 10 clients at a time. Once those spots are filled, we won't open up the program for another 3 months. If you're ready to lose weight and stop emotional eating, visit metabolicfoodsystem.com So Sherry is really such a deeply compassionate and skillful facilitator for healing. We talked about her personal experiences with love addiction and co-dependency, some of the healing modalities she uses to treat trauma. We also talk about the books she's written to provide solutions to those who suffer and a wide range of tools you can start using today. I really connected with Sherry and look forward to sharing more conversations with her in the future. So with that, please enjoy this wide ranging conversation with Sherry! OC90-Trigger Warning-Dr Adi Jaffe

OC90-Trigger Warning - Dr Adi Jaffe, The Abstinence Myth, Overcoming Addiction Without Same, Judgement or Rules Hi Friend, So happy to be spending this time with you today! Just want to send out a quick shout out to all the new subscribers and followers of the odaat chat FB page. Not sure who all is sharing the podcast, but there was a huge bump in downloads, so thanks to all the supporters! Let's keep up the momentum and get the message of recovery out there! Okay, I've never done this before, but I included a trigger warning on this episode, because I suspect some 12 step purests are going to freak out a little bit. All I ask is that you try to stay open. You know, like the coins say "Honest, Open minded and willing". But before I jump in, I'm excited to share that SoberLifeSchool will have a new class schedule starting this fall. I will have dates for a live class called "The Connection Cure" and a weight loss coaching program called "The Metabolic Balance Plan- A holistic mind-body-spirit approach that gives you the mechanics to restore metabolism and lose body fat, but also the emotional & spiritual transformation most programs don't have, so you actually keep it off in the long run." Super excited about that! Today's guest, Dr Adi Jaffe holds a Phd is psychology, has done a Ted Talk and is the founder along with his darling wife Sofie, of https://www.igntd.com/ He hosts a podcast, and has a variety of offerings to support healing and recovery. Dr Jaffe is wildly controversial by design, but underneath it all, I would say he is meeting some people at the beginning of their recovery journey, or people who have tried other methods. He is serving a specific demographic of people on the addiction spectrum who may or may not require abstinence. While I would reframe some of the ideas he presented, but I actually agreed with most of what he said. I also really appreciate that not everyone who needs addiction recovery, is actually dealing with the same set of issues, and that each person should be evaluated as an individual and that multiple modalities of treatment are necessary for most people. So with alll of that, please enjoy this episode with Dr Adi Jaffe. Igntdrecovery.com @dradijaffe

Step Work Call - Jenn - Step 1

So happy you could join me today for another episode of The ODAAT Chat podcast. My name is Arlina and I'll be our host. So, I normally don't do this but I just want to share a little about what's going on with me. My son was in an ATV accident and suffered a broken vertebrae, which was really scary but he'll be okay. Then a couple of days later my elderly father fell and broke a hip. Needless to say, its a lot. I found myself wanting to do some spiritual bypassing, you know, like just focus on gratitude, surrender, give it to God all that...what I didn't want to do was feel my feelings. But you know what's helped so much? Is talking with these women who have been brave enough to do this step work with me. We talk on the phone, tell the truth and love on each other, and for that, I'm deeply grateful. And today I'm sharing a conversation I had with one of my heart's treasures, Jenn. She was actually the first one who volunteered to do the work. So this episode is a step work call, with Jenn, who is sharing her step 1 homework. For more episodes like this, and many other interviews of people in recovery who share their experience, strength and hope, visit odaatchat.com. And, if you know someone who could benefit from witnessing someone transform through doing step work, Please share this episode with them! Subscribe on iTunes So with that, please enjoy this episode, with Jenn!
