Ep 357 - Hall Of Fame | Premila Vekariya: Fit, Healthy & Abs At 50! (Beating Menopause & Cholesterol)
Premila’s only regret with joining RNT was that she waited 3 years. When she joined RNT, she’d just turned 50. All her life, she’d been really active: frequently running 10 miles and cycling large distances. So she never thought she would need to join a fitness programme. She was of the firm opinion that as long as she exercised and ate well, she could manage on her own. And then, two separate instances made her pause and reconsider. The first was a photo taken at a restaurant of herself with a friend. She was shocked at how she looked! The second, was hearing about a friend in his 50s (as fit and active as herself) having minor heart issues on a hilly bike ride. And that’s when it struck her, she needed support if she wished to improve her health metrics. With no more hesitation, she signed up and gave it her all. And her results have been incredible. With the knowledge she received from RNT, she sharpened her awareness and fine-tuned her approach. She finally felt strong and looked great! Ep 356 - Hall Of Fame | Daksha Parmar: Veggie Working Supermum Of Two Builds Consistency To Get Into Best Shape Of Her Life!
After two pregnancies, health and fitness was always on Daksha’s mind. She wanted to feel, look and perform at her best, but nothing really clicked for her. Until her husband Devin came home one day and suggested they jump on RNT together. Having never weight trained before, Daksha went all in on the process to push herself beyond what she thought was possible. Ep 355 - Hall Of Fame | Nikhil Lalsodagar: High-Performing Father Shed 30kgs To Unlock the Best Version of Himself
When Nikhil joined RNT he thought he needed to lose 10-15kgs at the most. He ended up dropping a massive 30kg to shed the excess weight and live his best life. Like many others, he made the mistake of overestimating his muscle mass and underestimating how much fat he carried! The truth was, Lockdown had done a real number on Nikhil’s health. Being sedentary with too much food and not enough exercise resulted in a steady weight gain for him. The weight snuck up on him until one day he stepped on the scale and realised he’d gone over the line. For the first time in his life, he was staring at 3 digits on the scale! He got so self conscious of his size he disliked anyone touching him or hugging him. The best bit about this journey is not Nikhil’s 30kg weight loss. Ep 351 - Hall Of Fame | Terry Spier: Liposuction To Athletic Confidence
Terry felt ashamed when he found himself contemplating liposuction just so he could look and feel more confident at work. He was ashamed of his body and ashamed that he was even considering surgery! Something deep inside him told him that it wasn’t the right thing to do. And he knew that he would not be able to face his kids if he went down that route. Ep 350 - Emotional / Stress Eating Masterclass
In this episode of RNT Fitness Radio I’m joined by Coach Ivan to discuss all things emotional eating. I believe the single biggest reason for inconsistency on a diet is our inability to manage our stress and emotions, and then resort to food or drink as a result. Emotional eating can show up in many ways, from high pressure work situations, to relationship arguments, to simply boredom and bad habits. And according to a “Stress In America” Survey conducted by American Pyschological Association, 38% of adults have overeaten in the last month due to stress. Interestingly, our own data from a public survey we’ve ran for the last 6 months reported 77% of participants had an episode where they regretted eating as much as they did in the previous month.
