Episode 188 | Why Employee Fulfillment is Critical to Your Organization with Jenni Catron

As we start the new year, perhaps the biggest question that should be at the top of our minds is: how to build a great team. Your team is the lynch pin between your purpose and your strategy. You can have the greatest purpose in the world, and you can have devised the greatest strategy to achieve it, but without a team to make it happen, it’s just a dream. In Matthew Kelly’s book, Culture Solution, he says:  “Culture is the ultimate competitive advantage of our age.”Are you leaning into this advantage? How are you leaning into it this year?A third of your employees potentially do not feel fulfilled in their work, which makes them nearly 400% more likely to actively look for another job, and 340% more likely to leave the organization within a year. There is a hard cost to not being intentional about creating a culture where employees are fulfilled. This week, Jenni talks about why employee fulfillment is critical to your organization, what happens when employees are fulfilled (and when they are not), and offers some practical steps to take this week to evaluate fulfillment within your team. Steps to take this week:Do some self-reflection - how fulfilled do you feel in your work? Are you more engaged or less engaged as you start this year? Do you derive significance from the work you are doing? If yes - what about it feels fulfilling, and why? If no - where do you feel the disconnect?Evaluate each of your employees - how fulfilled do they seem? Rate them on a scale of 1-5 (1 = unfulfilled, 5 = extremely fulfilled)Pay attention to ways you can connect your team to the purpose of your organizationConnect with JenniLet us know what you thought of this week’s episode - you can connect with Jenni on Instagram and Facebook at Get4Sight or on LinkedIn at The4SightGroup.Your Next StepLooking for even more leadership resources to help you and your team thrive this year? Episode 187 | Find Yourself a Stunt-Double with Jessica Honegger, Liz Bohannon, and Jenni Catron

During the Covid pandemic, 150 million people were pushed back into global poverty and 20 million girls left the classroom, many to never return again. For companies like Noonday Collection and Sseko Designs, continuing to provide economic opportunities for the communities they have been supporting for over a decade became even more critical - and the best way to do it was by doing it together. In this week’s episode, Jenni talks with Jessica Honegger, founder of Noonday Collection, and Liz Bohannon, founder of Sseko Designs. Jessica and Liz recently went through a merger & acquisition process and are now serving as co-owners of Noonday Collection. Noonday Collection works with over 30 artisan businesses and over 2500 artisan partners around the world, and has funded a million dollars of adoptions for families in the US.Jess and Liz share the mission and values that drive them, their passion for collaboration over competition, how going forward together was better for both of them, and what it means to now have a stunt-double business partner. They also answer questions about how they merged cultures, how coaching helped them work through the change, and why keeping short accounts and giving generous assumptions are critical to their day-to-day success. Jess and Liz model what healthy, God-honoring leadership looks like and what it looks like to collaborate, not compete, as they lean into the best of each other.Connect with NoondayUse your purchasing power for good by shopping ethically at www.noondaycollection.com (check out their new coffee!) and learn more on Instagram and FacebookYour Next StepFor a next step, check out our 4Sight Women in Leadership Coaching Intensive. Episode 183 | 3 Elements of a Healthy Culture of Feedback with Jenni Catron

According to a Gallup poll, only 26% of employees strongly agree that the feedback they receive helps them do better work. As leaders, providing helpful and productive feedback is a skill that we have to learn. It’s a simple task that takes an extraordinary amount of work and thoughtfulness. So, how do we do it well? How do you create a culture where feedback is given and received; it’s normal and expected; and is appropriate and productive? In this week’s episode, Jenni shares 3 elements of a healthy culture of feedback and offers encouragement and practical steps to help you evaluate your organization’s culture of feedback. Jenni discusses the importance of shared expectations, the difference between coaching and criticism, and what psychological safety is - and is not. This week, take an inventory and ask yourself if your organization has shared expectations around feedback, are you giving and receiving feedback as coaching, and how trusting is our environment? Episode 180 | Discovering What Must Change with Jenni Catron

There’s a familiar quote from the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, who said, “Change is the only constant in life.” The tension with this statement is that we are naturally wired for comfort. Perhaps our pursuit is really a longing for peace. Maybe it’s for control. But what we do know is that change is inevitable, so we can either resist it or embrace it. Logically we know that change is a part of life, and it is certainly a part of leadership, but history is a graveyard of leaders and organizations that were unwilling to navigate change at critical moments. As the leader, the change must start with you. You must embrace it first to lead us through it. You must get gut-level honest with yourself about what must change in order for your organization to thriveIn this week’s episode, Jenni introduces us to the “Keep/Start/Stop” exercise and teaches us how to embrace change with three simple steps that will help us identify what must change, why we’re resisting change, and how we can involve our teams in the process. We want to hear from you! Email podcast@get4sight.com to share your “what must change” take-away from today’s episode, what questions we can answer in a future episode, or which guests you would love to hear from! For a next step, we encourage you to connect with one of our trained and experienced 4Sight Group: Leadership Coaches to help you navigate leading through change and determining what must change. Episode 179 | Self-Leadership with Jenni Catron

We all want to lead our teams well, to make a difference and to be successful in our endeavors. But we've also found ourselves in moments where we feel stuck, or in situations where we look back on our day, bewildered and frustrated, wondering why things just didn’t go well.Often, our feelings of being stuck or frustrated come back to a simple but difficult truth: we're just not leading ourselves well. That's the bad news. The good news is, it's never too late to learn to lead yourself better! But what exactly are the skills leaders need to be successful? How do we stop making leadership decisions based on our survival and instead focus on the welfare of our teams? In this week’s episode, Jenni teaches us about a key facet of leading ourselves well: self-awareness. In a study of 72 private and public companies, a high self-awareness score was the overall predictor of success. Self-awareness equips us to lead others in a way that leads to results, and those we influence get our best engagement when we know ourselves well and are leaning into our strengths. In this episode, you'll learn the 3 reasons self-awareness is essential, as well as 3 steps to take toward greater self-awareness.This week, prioritize time to consider how you would answer this question: What do you:ThinkFeelBelieve How do others experience you, and what would you like to change? For a next step, we encourage you to connect with one of our trained and experienced 4Sight Group: Leadership Coaches to help you navigate your self-leadership questions and goals.
