038. Substance P: The Root Cause of Illness, Jaw Pain, TMJ - Dr Dwight Jennings
Dr Dwight Jennings is not your typical orthodontist. Most dentist and orthodontist treat your jaw and mouth from a very superficial lens, meaning they want your teeth to look straight cosmetically, using things like Invisalign or sleep guards that only help you sleep. However, Dr Jennings looks at the mouth in a very holistic manner. Not only does he fix your mouth so that it cosmetically looks nice, but he uses special retainers to help move your lower jaw forward. This helps move the jaw forward so that you're biting tip to tip. Most dentists leave you with a bit of an overbite or don't even correct the overbite. Dr Jennings has also been studying Substance P for years and is probably the world's leading expert, which he goes into great detail in our full length podcast interview. Substance P can be the cause of overall inflammation in your body, i.e. leaky gut, allergies, learning issues, aggression/anger, autoimmune conditions, firbromylgia, seizures, vitiligo, autism, and much more. I discovered Dr Jennings, because I was a healthy individual, but at age 30 I started snoring. After three appts with him, my snoring stopped. I asked him, "Dr J, why don't I just buy a mouthpiece to sleep with that moves my jaw forward to stop snoring, instead of always wearing a mouthpiece 24/7?" Dr Jennings told me that you can buy a mouthpiece to help your sleep, but it'll never fix your Substance P issues, long term health issues, jaw pain and TMJ. Dr Jennings is a master when it comes to solving jaw pain and TMJ. Iâve been seeing Dr Jennings for almost three years to help reorganize my mouth as not only did I have an overbite, but I also had an upper jaw that was not landing correctly on my lower jaw. My experience so far has been amazing and I canât recommend him enough. Recently, my six year old boy was having âaggressionâ issues and I was noticing he was mouth breathing a lot and had lots of sinus issues. I recently brought him to see Dr Jennings and after only three-four treatments Iâve already seen a decrease in his aggression. Now, my wife and I have also done a lot of other things to help change the way we parent, just check out my interview with Toscha Shore to learn more, but I truly believe Dr Jenningsâ work has helped out immensely. I notice my son snorts his nose a lot less than he used to. 037. Parenting Kids With Aggression, Simple Tools For Everyday Struggles - Tosha Schore
Tosha Schore is the author of the hit book Listen: 5 Simple Tools to Meet Your Everday Parenting Struggles and the creator of the course Out With Aggression which has revolutionized the way I parent my two boys. Tosha has successfully raise three boys who suffered from aggression issues and now is teaching her methodologies all over the world. I discovered Tosha after taking her course, as I too was struggling with parenting two young boys, one who was extremely aggressive towards me: hitting and kicking me, spitting at me, yelling and screaming. I had read many popular books on child psychology, attended seminars, and enrolled in child-parent therapy without seeing any real change. After taking Tosha's six week course, I started noticing immediate changes in my relationship with my boys. Finally the momentum has shifted in our family and we are really making some strides. 036. EMF'd - The Hidden Harms & How To Protect Yourself, Increase Sperm Quality & Testosterone
This week, I interview my boy A.D., the founder of FONZ clothing, a special grade of clothing that helps protect you against electromagnetic fields (EMF's). A.D. has invented FaradayTech⢠EMF wave-stopping fabric's are a new breed with different yarns on each side of the fabric designed to keep you safe from not only EMF, but metallic oxidative toxins as well, while exceeding the comfort and function of normal fabrics.A.D. had experienced personal health issues with EMF's and was looking for solutions to mitigate the harmful effects of EMF's. This led him to create his own clothing. He first started with the underwear, as the radiation and EMF's from phones can lead to lower sperm quality, damaged cells, and less testosterone. The underwear has been a big hit with biohackers right now, and I can attest, it's super comfortable. For 20% use the code JOELEVAN20 and head to https://itsfonz.com/For the shownotes and more resources, head to www.joelevancoaching.comFollow @joelevancoachingTimeline4:35 - Opinion of 5G7:45 - How can you mitigate the effects of EMF and 5G14:15 - How A.D. learned EMF was effecting his life19:00 - How EMFâs damage sperm quality and lessen testosterone Remove EMFâs and the balls can heal26:00 - What makes FONZ clothing superior34:15 - Other good resources for people to research EMFâs

Lieutenant Colonel Dave Grossman is a retired US Army Ranger and paratrooper, and a former West Point Psychology Professor. He is also the director of the Killology Research Group and actually developed the term âkillology,â considered the study of the psychological and physiological effects of killing and combat on the human psyche.Anyone in law enforcement and/or the military know Lt Col Grossman for his work on studying combat and killing specifically. Lt Col Grossman I was so pumped to interview Lt Col Dave Grossman as Iâve been following his work for years. As a new officer and after a major incident, it was suggested to me to read his work On Combat. It was the first book I had ever read that talked about phenomenons such as PTSD, stress, combat breathing, auditory exclusion, and much more. 034. Hacking Heart Disease & Heart Attacks - Dr Michael Twyman
This week, I interview none other than the biohacking cardiologist, Dr Michael Twyman. Dr Twyman is the originator of Apollo Cardiology, where he's doing some interesting tests than the average cadiologist. Dr Twyman looks at heart disease and heart attacks much differently than your average cardiologist, as heâs taking in more than just your diet, but 400 other factors! Things like light, circadian rhythm, meal timing, and much more. He answers questions that are always on peopleâs minds, like âIs cholesterol really bad?â and âthe truth behind statins.â We talk about how to prevent heart disease and heart attacks. I was surprised to learn that âmost heart attacks are caused by blockages that are less than 50% [blocked].âDr Twyman is also extremely bullish on red light therapy and photobiomodulation. Red light therapy Red light therapy works from the inside-out to enhance mitochondrial function in cells. This, in turn, leads to several skin benefits. Red light decreases skin inflammation, smooths skin tone, repairs sun damage, fades scars and stretch marks, and even builds collagen in the skin, which reduces wrinkles. It also heals wounds and can prevent recurring cold sores or herpes simplex. Red light works on the lymphatic system to improve your bodyâs detoxification abilities by increasing blood flow. It may even stimulate hair growth in your hair follicles.Dr Twyman explains why he thinks red light therapy is going to be so important right now and in the future. Dr Twyman focuses less on nutrition and more on light, magnetism, and water similar to one of his mentors Dr Jack Kruse. What I also like about Dr Twyman is heâs a lifelong learner. He attends several motivational/business conferences yearly and has picked up some amazing insights throughout the years from mentors such as Bedros Keuilian, author of the best selling book, âMan Up.â Like Dr Twyman said, âNobody really has this figured out. Believe in yourself. Make this happen. Imperfect action beats perfection inaction.âTimeline3:38 - How Dr Twyman biohacks cardiology5:00 - How blue light effects the heart and overall immunity11:00 - Is cholesterol really bad?12:04 - Do genes matter when it comes to heart disease?21:30 - The big ideas to help reversing heart disease23:30 - How light effects heart disease & cardiovascular health29:20 - How COVID effects the endothelium system31:13 - What preventative measure you can take for heart attacks34:22 - What Dr Twyman does to help improve his overall health 39:30 - The truth behind statins43:00 - Most memorable testimonials with people in his clinic44:20 - The most concerning issue coming in the future to the health world47:00 - Some of the big ideas that have most impacted Dr Twyman this yearFor the show notes and other links go to www.joelevancoaching.comAlso if you're interested in life or health coaching, email me at info@joelevancoaching.comI'm not talking about just losing weight health coaching, I'm talking even some of maybe your toughest issues, like IBS, Chron's disease, etc, I can help.Follow me on IG @joelevancoaching and Dr Twyman @drtwyman or head to www.drtwyman.com for more information.

033. Breathing For A Better Engine, Oxygen Training With Adaptive Contrast - Owen Monroy
In this weekâs podcast, I interviewed Owen Monroy, the founder of Oxygen Rally in Walnut Creek, CA at The Human Optimization Center. Owen has a background coaching collegiate volleyball, but felt like he wasnât living his true purpose. Owen is a Human Potential Coach, a biohacker, and has extensive knowledge in health/wellness, but felt like being a volleyball coach limited his ability to truly create change within the environment and people he was directly impacting. So, instead he left and went on to create his own fitness program using oxygen training with adaptive contrast therapy at the center. We talk all bout this therapy and why it has so much impact on athletes as well as just regular people. The type of oxygen training Owen utilizes works as the user must be moving or working out at the same time they are receiving the oxygen. Owen then puts the user in a hypoxic state temporarily or at altitude. This sends signals to the body that they need to produce more oxygen in order to keep moving at the same pace. Then, Owen will have the user switch to a super saturated state, pushing oxygen deep into the tissues. This type of training is great for respiratory fitness, brain health, detoxification, fat-loss, immune readiness and anti-aging. Owen has had people with chronic headaches and neck pain say to them that only after three sessions, 15 minutes each, their pain has subsided and went away. I actually did a 15 minute session with Owen at his studio and found it to be one of the best workouts Iâve ever done, and I hate doing cardio and rarely do it. Not only was it fun, but I felt euphoric after completing the session, and the best part was it only took 15 minutes. Owen has also started a GoFundMe page, where heâs donating all the proceeds to firefighters, whoâs lungs and respiratory health are compromised on a daily basis. Did you know that 70% of line-of-duty deaths for career firefighters are Cancer related. It is hardly surprising that this high risk was anchored by lung, mesothelioma, oral, esophageal, large intestine, and kidney cancers. Now, YOU can get three FREE sessions with Owen and the Oxygen Boost Training, and donate three sessions to a first responder. Itâs a huge opportunity to rejuvenate your lungs WHILE helping firefighters recover from intense exposure to fire retardant chemicals and toxic smoke exposure. This week during some of the worst air quality the SF Bay Area has seen my friends at Oxygen Rally launched the Firefighter Lung Recovery Fund and are inviting the community to invest in personal respiratory health while supporting lung recovery for firefighters.Guys, not only was Owen a wealth of knowledge, but heâs just a good human and he wants to serve in a big way. 032. The Dirty Secrets Of The Wine Industry - Todd White
This weekâs episode I had the pleasure of interviewing and speaking with Todd White, who is the founder of Dry Farm Wines. I had heard of Dry Farm Wines for years now, after attending the Bulletproof Conference in 2016 and being exposed to these natural wines. Up until then, I had never heard of biodynamic natural wines and their health benefits. All I knew was they were better for you and I have to say they tasted really good. Since then Iâve made it a point to try and buy biodynamic organic wines, and in the last six months Iâve switched to nothing but Dry Farm Wines. So what makes Dry Farm Wines so special? Honestly, after the interview with Todd, I discovered itâs not only what they put in the wine that makes them special, itâs what they donât put in the wine! The wine industry is not required to put labels on their bottles, and therefore, thereâs a huge lack of transparency. Especially, since I learned that most wines use up to 70+ additives! Thatâs not even including the toxic herbicides and pesticides and other cancer causing toxins such as Glyphosate that are being sprayed on the crops. Additives such as âMega Purpleâ, a commercial coloring agent concentrate that is produced and sold by Constellation (the 3rd largest wine producer in the world), is a commonly used additive in winemaking that enhances the fruit flavor of a wine and adds a deeper color. It's estimated that 10,000 gallons are sold every year, and added to about 25 million bottles of wine. It's used in a majority of low and moderately priced wines, but can also be used to touch up expensive premium wines. Almost every red wine under $15 has "Mega Purple" in itThe Dry Farm Wines DifferenceStatistically Sugar Free. Every wine is fermented completely dry, with less than 0.15 grams per 5oz glass. This includes rosĂŠ, sparkling, and white wine. Lower Alcohol. With the national alcohol average nearing 15%, our wines never surpass 12.5% alc/vol, with some as low as 7%. Lower Sulfites. Our wines average a very low 39 parts per million. In the US, by law sulfites are allowed in amounts up to 350 parts per million (ppm) in wine.No Additives. While commercial wine companies may use up to 70+ FDA-approved additives, including thickeners and dyes, to create a shelf stable product. All Native Yeast. 030. The Power of Algae: Spirulina & Chlorella - Catharine Arnston
In this weekâs podcast I had the pleasure of interviewing the founder and creator of Energybits, Catharine Arnston. Energybits is a brand of algae, specifically spirulina and chlorella. You might be wondering why on earth Iâd talk about something like algae, a green plant found at the bottom of oceans and swamps. Well, Catharine has been fascinated with algae for over 10 years, since her sister was first diagnosed with cancer and the doctor told her she needed to eat more alkaline foods. Catharine geeked out on alkaline types of foods and stumbled upon algae and all the amazing health benefits. She couldnât believe how much research had been poured into the amazing health benefits of algae but that no one was really promoting it. Spirulina for example is loaded with over 40 vitamins and minerals. It has one of the highest sources a protein and is extremely low calorie, so that people on a keto diet can still eat it and remain in ketosis. It also has a ton of B Vitamins, which is great for energy production and is why many endurance athletes are a fan of Catharineâs Energybits. Spirulina has also been shown to be anti-viral, and can penetrate the cell walls of virus, a possible great biohack for coronavirus (Spirulina & COVID) Chlorella on the other hand is great for recovery and removing toxins such as mercury, lead, and other toxins from the body. Chlorella is rich in iron and is great for cellular clean up and anti-aging. Because chlorella is a rich in iron, it might. be a great âhackâ for COVID-19, as they are now realizing that COVID is ripping away iron from the blood, causing a loss of hemoglobin and heart attacks (COVID19: hemoglobin, iron, hypoxia beyond inflammation). Spirulina has also shown to be helpful with enriching the blood with oxygen specifically in anemic patients (Spirulina and anemia with Immune Function in Senior Citizens)Needless to say, Iâve been ingesting Energybit algae tabs for years (my kids really like the chlorella), and after interviewing Catharine, I am even more impressed with the health benefits of spirulina and chlorella, When you look at all the health benefits just in terms of coronavirus, you canât help but realize all the downstream effects you can experience due to eating algae: lowering inflammation, enriching your blood with oxygen, providing your essential nutrients, and much more. This was an amazing episode! 029. Deep Nutrition: Unlocking Your Genome, The Four Pillars Of Health (Part 3 of 3)
In this series, I explained the perils of vegetables oils and sugar to your health (part 1 & 2). In this final episode of this series, I explain what you can and should eat, and how you should prioritize your diet What's fascinating about these principles, is it doesn't matter what race you are, or whether you're male or female, these same principles apply to living a thriving and healthy lifestyle. If you eliminate vegetables oils and sugar consumption and follow these four pillars to health, you will lead an optimal healthy life. FOUR PILLARS OF HEALTH 1. Meat on the bone2. Fermented and Sprouted Foods3. Organs & Other "Nasty Bits"4. Fresh, Unadulterated Plant & Animal ProductsMeat on the bone will bring enough of the glycosaminoglycan growth factors and bone-building minerals to make a childâs joint strong and their bones tough, enabling them to grow tall and excel in sports. In adulthood, these same factors will keep your joints well-lubricated and prevent aging bones from crumbling. No combination of supplements has the right balance of bioavailable minerals and collagen-derived growth factors to fortify your body as effectively as meat on the bone.Organ meats bring the vitamins and brain-building fats that can ensure children will have mental stability and an aptitude for learning, and continued consumption of these foods is the best way to guarantee that your brain cells and nerves tay healthy for the rest of your life. Because these nutrients deteriorate so rapidly no pills can effectively encapsulate them.Fermented foods, full of probiotics, protect the intestinal tract from invading pathogens. Since a healthier intestine more able to take in nutrients, probiotics may prevent infections and allergic disorders from developing elsewhere in the body, reducing the need for repeated doses of antibiotics. Probiotics living in our intestine also produce all sorts of vitamins which help round out a diet that might other be deficient. Sprouted foods enable you to enjoy your breads and breakfast porridges without consuming the empty calories that cause obesity and diabetes. Finally, fresh foods are naturally loaded with more antioxidants than can possibly survive the process of drying, overcooking, or being stuff into a capsule and bottled.
