Ep. 1348 Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini | On The Road Edition With Stevie Kim
Welcome to episode 1348, another episode of “On The Road Edition”, hosted by Stevie Kim. In this episode Stevie is speaking with Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, a legendary lady of the Caparzo Winery.More about today's guest:Of Bolognese origins, but born and raised in Rome, Elisabetta does not come from a family of wine producers. Passionate about history, art and archaeology, however, she has always cultivated a passion for the countryside – her Bolognese ancestors cultivated peaches and maize – and, after working as a film producer in partnership with Luca Barbareschi, at the fateful 40 she finally fulfilled the dream of his life: to devote himself to the land by starting, almost by chance, to produce wine. The story begins in 1997 with the purchase of Borgo Scopeto in the Chianti Classico area , between Siena and Vagliagli . The Borgo, which today is a relais de charme called Borgo Scopeto Relais , is so spectacular that it was chosen by director Gary Winick to set part of his film "Letters to Juliet", starring Amanda Seyfried, Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero . The film, released in 2010 , surprisingly climbed the US charts : the presence, in a scene of the film, of Brunello Caparzo, positively influenced sales in the United States. But Borgo Scopeto is also a large farm that produces Chianti Classico and an excellent extra virgin olive oil .Find out more by visiting:caparzo.it/index-eng.htmlwww.instagram.com/caparzo_winery/More about the host Stevie Kim:Stevie Kim hosts Clubhouse sessions each week (visit Italian Wine Club & Wine Business on Clubhouse), these recorded sessions are then released on the podcast to immortalize them!
