KNP70 - Building Muscle While Living a Plant Based Life - With Plant Based Chad

Today's episode was with my good friend, Chad Neilson, also know as Plant Based Chad! I wanted to get Chad on to talk about being a competitive athlete while being plant based. Chad also is NOT a coach, so he has no monetization to gain from this. I am clearly not a plant based guy, and I did not feel judged for being a meat eater. Just like I didn't judge Chad for being plant based. It was a very respectful and intellectual conversation that I know you all will get a ton of value from! Macro E-Book Presale - Click Here Topics we covered in the podcast: Why he calls myself plant based instead of vegan Favorite plant based protein and restaurants Ditching any dogma about being plant based His "agenda" and bias and cognitive dissonance His journey of Plant Based eating A few things from the movie Game Changers which really stood out to him And lastly, He Answered the age old questions "What do you actually eat?" and "How do you get enough protein?" Favorite Plant Based Protein Visit True Nutrition's Website – Click Here Top 12 Vegan Meals in the Salt Lake Valley 100% Plant Based Restaurants Buds – sandwich shop downtown (100% Plant Based Restaurant). Get the buffalo chicken or pizza steak. Or better yet, both. Don't let anyone talk you into Barbacoa. Boltcutter – mexican restaurant downtown. The nachos are everyone's favorite, I am also a huge fan of the sin carne asada burrito and the quesadillas. Vegan Bowl – west side. Haven't been there but 100% positive review from everyone I have ever talked to. Zest Kitchen and Bar – 100% plant based and gluten free. Not my favorite, but if you want something almost pretentiously healthy it is very popular. Vegan Meals at Omni Restaurants The Pie – the Vegan Chicken Bacon Ranch is to die for. Jinya Ramen – Creamy Vegan Ramen is sooooo good. Dog Haus – The Beyond Brat there is phenomenal, they also have impossible sliders. Mi Ranchito – around 3300 south and state – Has an entire vegan buffet every Friday night, as well as a smaller vegan menu throughout the week. Chabaar – Thai restaurant in Midvale – Almost any curry there can be made vegan. Vegan Fast Food Burger King – Impossible Whopper. I have an embarrassing amount of these. Del Taco – Beyond Beef Tacos/Burritos. They are alright, I can't wait until Taco Time rolls theirs out though. Apollo Burger – Impossible Burger. KNP69 - Dieting - Why do we over complicate it?

Most diets fail because we overcomplicate the process. It's simple at its core, eat at a calorie deficit and you will lose weight. How you want to achieve that is totally up to you. There are some cases of extreme cases of dieting where you actually need MORE calories, but for the vast majority of people, create the deficit, and you will lose weight. Stop complicating the process and in return, your results will be exponentially better.

Today's episode was with a long time friend and fellow coach in the industry, Mike Manfe. We talked about his new branding, Evolve Culture and what that means at its core. We also discussed my new favorite segment, how to spot a BS coach. We touched on why so many people don't achieve their fitness goals and what he suggests to help someone find their passion. Mike is also a father as of this year and we could not be happier for him. I asked him how being a father has changed his life, he gives a great response! Mike is one of the top nutrition coaches in the state and delivers amazing client results. It was an honor and pleasure to sit down with him to talk and collaborate with the "competition". Scarcity mindset is not a winning mindset, today we both choose to live in abundance. KNP64 - The Myths and Truths Around Keto and Carbs With Tara Garrison

Today's episode was deep. Our guest was none other than one of the most respected Keto coaches out there, Coach Tara Garrison. What I love about Tara is even though she is an expert in Keto, she is not a zealot with it. She is not dogmatic on any one approach being the best for a client. She educated us on how to properly use Keto, and why throwing in carbs can be such a valuable tool. We also talked about Tara's personal story, which was deep and meaningful, to say the least. Her journey of leaving a religion she was very involved in, her thoughts on plant medicine and redefining herself after having four kids and a divorce. I was absolutely honored to have Tara on the show and I know this one will be worth the hour you spend.
