In Matthew 13:47-52, Jesus illustrates the separation of the evil and the righteous, emphasizing the consequences of rejecting the Kingdom. Using vivid imagery, he describes a net gathering fish of all kinds, symbolizing people of every tribe, and emphasizes the inevitability of this separation. Jesus warns of the fate of the evil, describing hell as a real, eternal, fiery, and dark place, urging his disciples to share the truths of the Kingdom and the terrors of hell with others, emphasizing the importance of repentance and belief in the Gospel.

In Matthew 13:44-46, Jesus emphasizes the immense value of the Kingdom of Heaven through two parables. These stories illustrate the Kingdom's hidden but profound worth, prompting followers to prioritize it above all worldly possessions. The parables urge believers to willingly sacrifice everything for the joy of embracing the Kingdom, emphasizing that true fulfillment lies in wholeheartedly embracing Christ's teachings. Through joyful sacrifice, believers gain an eternal inheritance, contrasting the fleeting pleasures of the world with the enduring joy of the Kingdom.

Jesus describes the Kingdom of Heaven like a mustard seed that begins small and insignificant, but eventually grows very large and offers shelter and rest for those who need it. He also describes the Kingdom as leaven that eventually permeates the entire lump of dough. What does this mean for us as we continue on our mission to "make disciples?"

One of our elders - Nate O'Brien walks us through the purpose of the parables. Jesus taught that parables were designed to communicate truth to those who believe and to further confound those who do not believe.

Jesus begins to respond to the intense opposition He has faced from both the Pharisees and even some within His own family. He does so by telling seven parables that illustrate the Kingdom of God and those who will enter it. In the first of those parables, He explains the different types of people that will respond to the Gospel of the Kingdom. It's a challenge to us to ensure that our hearts are like the "good soil" of the parable. It's also a strong word to false converts and unbelievers and a call for them to repent.

Join us as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will look at what the resurrection means and why it matters for us in everyday life. We will see that Jesus truly died, truly rose, and we will truly rise with Him!

Paul concludes his instructions to families by speaking to children and parents. In these 4 verses, we learn so much about what it means for children to obey and parents to raise their children in the Lord. The Gospel is seen all throughout these relationships and the Gospel offers us hope where we so often fall short as parents and children.

After hearing what wives and husbands are called to do in marriage, we can wonder where the strength to do those things comes from. We can wonder what the meaning and purpose of it all is. Paul gives us the ultimate meaning and purpose of marriage in these verses. We are reminded that marriage is a beautiful thing, but it's not the ultimate thing.
