The final words of John's prologue to his Gospel bring comfort to us as weak and needy sinners. They also help to clarify one of the biggest questions & objections to the Bible.

If you were to hear the term "hypostatic union," would it excite you? As a Christian, this theological term describes the truth that Jesus was 100% human and 100% God on earth. Perfectly united in Jesus are these two natures and this truth is part of the bedrock on which our salvation stands. As we celebrate Christmas Eve together, let's see the beauty of the words "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us."

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior together, we look at Paul's words in Galatians 4 where he says that Jesus was born "in the fullness of time." What is the significance of this and how can it comfort our hearts and deepen our worship this Christmas season?

It's hard to believe that the world did not recognize it's Creator when He came. And as amazing as that is to think about, it's even more amazing that Jesus would make the very people who rejected Him, His children. What does it mean that we are children of God?

Darkness is all around us in our world and it often seems to creep into our lives. For some of us, the Christmas season is the hardest time of year because it is associated with great pain and loss. Jesus, as the Light of the World offers us hope and life because He is the True Light which the darkness cannot overcome. Let us believe and share this good news!

John begins his Gospel account with a bold and amazing truth: that Jesus Christ eternally exists as God. The baby in the manger of Bethlehem is also the creator of the universe. Let's begin this Advent season by observing these truths.

There is a promise of eternal rest for those who come to Jesus. But what does that rest look like and how do we enter it?

The truths in this passage have been debated for centuries within the Church. However, Jesus gives praise to the Father for these truths. Instead of becoming frustrated at the depths of these words, we should seek rather to understand them. No one can come to the Father unless the Son reveals Him.

Jesus preaches a message in these verses that would be considered by many to be a "fire and brimstone" message. But you can't have a full Gospel without speaking of both heaven and hell. We must heed Jesus' warnings, woes, and judgments He pronounces on those who reject the Gospel so that we can test ourselves to see if we truly are in the faith.
