Gregory Crewdson

On todays podcast I speak with photographer Gregory Crewdson. Gregory Crewdosn studied photography at SUNY Purchase and the Yale University school of Art where he is now the director of studies in photography. Gregory has exhibited his work around the world and published several books of his photography. Much of his work takes place in small town America and specifically in the Western Massachusetts area. Gregory spends years scouting and producing large scale productions that look very cineamatic in style. He has cited films such as Alfred Hitchcocks Vertigo as well as David Lynch’s Blue Velvet as inspirations to his work. Glen E. Friedman

On today’s podcast I speak with photographer Glen E. Friedman. Glen E. Friedman got his start in photography photographing the legendary Dogtown skate crew with skaters such as Jay Adams and Tony Alva to name a few. Glen is also well known for his photographs of punk rock groups such as Fugazi, Minor Threat, Suicidal Tendencies, and Bad Brains. Beyond Glens photographs of skateboarding and punk rock culture Glen is well known for his photographs of legendary hip hop artists such as the Beastie Boys, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Rakim, and Public Enemy to name a few. Pete Thompson

On today’s podcast I speak with photographer Pete Thompson. Pete just released a new book titled “93 Til” a photographic journey through skateboarding in the 1990’s. Pete has documented some of the most legendary skateboarders such as Tony Hawk, Neil Blender, Tom Penny, Danny Way, and Arto Sarri to name a few. He spent much of the nineties and early 2000’s working as a staff photographer for skateboard magazines such as SLAP and Transworld Skateboarding.
