Jeremy Baker: The Wanderer

It appears that Jeremy Baker has come full circle. After starting the commercial part of his career at the Zone in Victoria, Jeremy has returned. We discuss his early years buying 90's CD's, listening to 99.3 the Fox, X, and other alternative formated radio. We talked about his time working university radio before heading to the Zone in Victoria then to CFOX in Vancouver, and later the Peak and most recently a stint at Acadia Broadcasting's the Surge before heading back out west. The conversation revolved around the radio industry with tons of name dropping and nerding out on east and west coast radio.A transcript and a video version of the show are available on our network site. Thanks to the following organizations for supporting the show:Nlogic - TV & Radio Audience Data SolutionsMary Anne Ivison at Ivison Voice. - Make her the female voice of your radio station.Matt Fogarty Voiceovers - It's great to have Matt back for 2024 supporting our show. Make him the imaging voice for your radio station by contacting him through his website.Megatrax - Licensed Music for your radio station or podcast production company. Also we added the Sound Off Podcast to the The Open Podcast Prefix Project (OP3) A free and open-source podcast prefix analytics service committed to open data and listener privacy. You can be a nosey parker by checking out our downloads here.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Roz Weston: It Almost Never Happened

I reached out to Roz Weston when he was releasing his book, A Little Bit Broken in September of 2022. So that is not completely true - I sent an email to the publisher requesting an interview and you know how that can go. Publisher prefers TV over a podcast so on and so forth. It was another show in our company The Women of Ill Repute that had a really great interview about the Roz and the book... one that I didn't think I would be able to best. So I left it be.Now comes a new podcast from the Frequency Podcast Network called The History of Roz & Mocha. It is six episodes on how they came together, why the show works and how it has lasted 14 years when most armchair PD's gave it 14 months.

Dave Jackson: Back To School

So this is episode 400. I'm never really sure if as podcasters we are supposed to celebrate these milestones publicly; I have never heard a listener tell anyone that "you need to listen to Episode 100 of" any podcast ever. But I have heard them say, "Did you check out the episode with [insert relevant person here]"?Tell your friends that Dave Jackson is on the show this week as we head Back to School. Dave is the owner of the School of Podcasting and has countless resources to help you get started with your show. This includes no fewer that 4 podcasts including:Ask the Podcast Coach, Podcast Rodeo Show, Your Podcast Consultant, Your Podcast Website, and The Future of Podcasting. In this episode I learned about why you need a "podcasting why" before you start your show, the difference between a YouTube show and a podcast, why you (still) need a website for your podcast and what needs to be on that website. (Spoiler: He recommends Podpage which we use for our network page).Dave and I also dug into the super trendy question du jour: Do you need to have video for your podcast. It turns out you don't need to stress yourself out over video as much as people let on. Finally, we dabbled in the future of podcasting discussing Podcasting 2.0 which will enable podcasters to do more things, and enhance the experience for the audience. We do video so yes - you can watch the show here.A transcript of the show is available here,Thanks to the following organizations for supporting the show:Nlogic - TV & Radio Audience Data SolutionsMary Anne Ivison at Ivison Voice.
