Perhaps Donald Trump has had a lot of time to reflect after the two attempts on his life during this campaign. Perhaps he really caught religion or perhaps he was just trying to play to the Christian voters he was in front of when he said he was chosen by a “supernatural hand” inferring that God selected him. He also told the group of conservative pastors at the 11th Hour Faith Leaders Meeting, “I would like to think that God saved me for a reason.” He still managed to pull out some fear mongering saying the liberal left was out to get Christians and that they would “suffer greatly.” Perhaps if God was really going to send someone to lead us, the person would be more kind, wise and selfless…the opposite of Trump. If Donald Trump is allowed to move forward with his plan for the economy, nonpartisan budget watchdog group “The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget” says it would push Social Security to insolvency three years earlier than expected and would cut benefits by nearly a third.  Between Trump’s plans for mass deportations, tariffs and tax cuts, the Social Security program’s trust fund would dry up by 2031  unless Congress refunds it. Trump seems to be having more serious mental issues. Over the weekend at a rally, he referred to the late golfer Arnold Palmer’s penis size. He’s also sticking to his nonsensical lie that Kamala Harris never worked at McDonald’s and showed up to work at a McDonald’s cooking up french fries. Last week, he decided to play music at a town hall event and sway back and forth rather than take questions. Add to that his recent disrespect of auto workers, comparing the work they do to child’s play, insulting Detroit in front of room full of Detroiters and while standing in California, threatening to withhold wildfire aid. It may be these “off the rails “type of appearances that have his staff canceling some pretty major interviews. He will appear on Fox & Friends, but he is checking out of other big media opportunities.  Though he seems to be imploding, the polls are still showing a presidential race that is just about neck and neck. We will see what CBS television and iHeartRadio political analyst Gary Dietrich thinks about all of that. Author and journalist Greg Palast will join us to talk about voter suppression. Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk is kickong off a series of solo rallies in support of Donald Trump. Yesterday, Musk appeared at a high school In Ridley Township, Pennsylvania. He called the state of linchpin of this election. Musk told the crowd that if they cared about the US Constitution, they would vote for Trump. Trump is the only candidate who has advocating suspending the United States Constitution. He’s also the only candidate who tried to get around constitutional election rules with a slate of fake electors in 2020. Musk is also offering voters $47 for each signature of a registered voter they can get on a petition in support of the first and second amendments. We welcome journalist and political analyst Michael Shure to the show. Yesterday, Donald Trump told a room full of women at a Fox News town hall event that he is the father of IVF. Monday, Trump sat down with Bloomberg Editor John Micklethwait at the Economic Club of Chicago. Rolling Stone called it a total mess, saying, “the former president was incoherent when pressed with real questions about his policies.” It was clear he didn’t understand the ramifications of the economic policies he was proposing. Earlier Monday, another Trump town hall took a bizarre turn. After Trump called out a man In the audience having a medical emergency as needing to lose weight, he proceeded to stop taking questions and dance on stage for almost 40 minutes. Add to this, Trump’s rhetoric has gotten darker, if that’s possible. In recent days, he has talked about using the United States military against American citizens if protests or violence rise on election day. He said it would take one really rough hour or one really rough day, seeming to advocate brutalizing American citizens . Now, Trump’s staff is working to cancel some upcoming events, including a planned appearance on CNBC. Incensed by the idea that his beloved Fox News would interview Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump took to social media. Trump wrote Fox “has grown weak and soft on Democrats.” He accused Fox News anchor Bret Baier, set to interview Harris on Wednesday, of being too soft on the left. He then slammed other Fox hosts. Though Trump has upcoming appearances scheduled on Fox, he says he won’t be going on that station anymore. Pulitzer Prize winning author and investigative journalist David Cay Johnston will discuss. You would think that while standing behind a podium in Detroit, Michigan trying to court voters, a presidential candidate would not badmouth a city to its own residents. That’s what Trump did yesterday. Speaking at the Detroit Energy Club, Trump rambled on for nearly three hours. He took the opportunity to express his dismay over Vice President Kamala Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview, and said that if she’s elected, the entire country “will end up being like Detroit.” Here’s the quote: “The whole country’s going to be like — you want to know the truth? It’ll be like Detroit. Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s your president. You’re going to have a mess on your hands.” That did not go over well with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer who responded to Trump on X, writing “keep Detroit out of your mouth. Detroit is the epitome of ‘grit,’ defined by winners willing to get their hands dirty to build up their city and create their communities—something Donald Trump could never understand. So keep Detroit out of your mouth. A Trump rally in Pennsylvania yesterday turned into something of an embarrassment. Trump told the crowd,“We do a lot of these beautiful rallies, and it’s so great. We never have an empty seat, never have, look at it!” So, it appears a few people actually looked around. Whole sections of seating areas at the back of the Trump rally were either empty or mostly empty. The pictures were quickly posted all over social media.
